CyberPower - 625VA Battery Back-Up System

It seems to do what is expected of it, though I have not had a spontaneous power failure to give it the real-life test. One annoying feature is the loud beep that indicates that the battery back-up is not charging. The way I have it set up, it makes sense to take it out of my array when not in use. But the beep can't be turned off and is so loud that it interferes with a person getting to sleep. So when I take it out of the array, I have to plug it empty (nothing attached to it) into an alternate power source just to keep it quiet.

The CyberPower - 625VA Battery Back-Up System - Black is great for a small office. It provides room for my computer and printer on one side where I have serge protection and battery backup. The other side provides three outlets that just need serge protection. My last serge protector was the same model and it lasted many years. I liked it very much and so replaced the old one with the same back up system.

I switched to the CyberPower brand several years ago after numerous failures of the more well known brand name UPS. My original CyberPower unit is still running along with four other units of varying sizes and capacities. The only thing I have ever had to do is change batteries on occasion. I would recommend this very reliable unit to anyone looking for quality power conditioning and back up for a PC.

Haven't had a problem with this or any other Cyberpower device I've owned. I want to love APC, but sometimes Cyberpower just simply beats them in the price/performance ratio - especially in the lower end of the market. For what it is, and it's price it'll do the job.

It's not really too heavy or unmanageable. I plugged it in, let it charge up, plugged my desktop system unit, monitor, verizon fios router and my small hp1006 laserjet into ports on the unit. I then installed the software, which gives a decent summary, but most of the optional things you can do were greyed out. I tested the unit by unplugging from the wall and everything continued to run fine on battery. I only tested for a minute; every 15-20 seconds the battery emitted two beeps to let you know it was running on battery. Every time the laserjet starts up the battery complains with more beeps, but the instructions say to not use a laser printer do to the high startup voltage draw, so that's not their fault. I'm satisfied with the unit for a small system like mine.

3 star plus 1 star for price. I have put quite a few of these guys in. The weight of these is significantly less than a like-product with APC, mainly due to the small battery. They normally only last a little over a year or so. You will get twice the longevity out of an APC and 50% longer run-times for the same VA rating. Of course, an APC will cost you more. The USB port natively communicates with any recent PC OS for automatic on-battery actions. I normally use these in low power consumption scenarios (routers, switches, etc.).

I use this to protect my main office computer, and have had it work well twice during power loss and power surge. It fits well without taking up space and can be mounted anywhere.

Had another brand backup & surge protector that quit after several years. Was worried that Cyberpower might not be as well made, but took a chance to purchase it anyway. No reason to worry- it is solid, simple to use, well spaced outlets, and seems to be offering very good protection so far. Price is so reasonable to fully protect a valuable PC I believe everyone should have one. Best feature to me is it stands upright or lays flat- you choose how to position it to fit your space.

Got this unit on sale, just as good as the branded APC units. I am using it for a slightly different purpose than a PC... A digitally controlled pellet smoker. Wanted to protect the electronics from surge as well as provide battery backup for outages while smoking. The smoker shuts down for safety if a power failure hits. This keeps the unit going so now the 18 to 22hour smokes can run completely uninterrupted. Good unit for home use.

In the past I had bought other brands and had troubles with lightning taking them out. Or, the battery will go dead as soon as the power went out for any length of time. And it would not re-charge. These have worked great as we own several. We have had extended power outage as we have had complete battery drains and we have had power surges. These the battery do not fly in the past I had bought other brands and had troubles with lightning taking them out. Or, the battery will go dead as soon as the power went out for any length of time. I prefer this one much more over my APC UPS. This one is easy to set up, and easy to config (Vs. the APC UPS you need a software which works only on Windows to do advance setup).
This one is smaller in size (compare to my APC UPS), but has more capacity.
My next UPS will surely be a Cyberpower brand.

I like the CyberPower - 625VA Battery Back-Up System as compared to other battery back-up systems I have used in the past. The unit does not always feel warm to the touch (24/7); from what I read the CyberPower unit maintains a trickle charge on the battery and quickly switches over to full battery power when needed; where other battery backup units feed power through the battery and consume more power when on standby. Other manufacturers may have changed their design to work this way as well I am not aware of how they all work. During past power surges the CyberPower unit has switched over and as of today I have never lost any unsaved computer files. I also think it is better for a desktop PC or even a laptop to be not to be exposed to power surges in order to limit possible damage to the power supply or motherboard.

Battery info over USB is a must have

I bought this battery back-up to replace an aging one made by another name brand. I had replaced the battery in my original battery back-up once before after it was no longer able to hold a charge (resulting in my desktop losing power). There was no built in mechanism for checking the health of its battery so when the replacement battery died I lost a file I was working on. As a result I lost trust in this battery backup because I was never sure if it would actually work.
This battery back-up has a built in USB port which can be used to monitor information such as battery health, estimated run time in the case of a power outage and power draw. You can even administer a test which switches to battery for a few seconds to ensure it is working and set your computer to turn off if the power is lost for a certain amount of time (or a specific percentage of battery is remaining). Unfortunately this functionality requires third-party software, called PowerPanel, on Windows. My Mac, however, was able to access some of this information without installing any third-party software. If you want this information without connecting the battery back-up to a computer, Cyberpower also makes equivalent battery back-ups with built in LCD display.

This unit has worked as advertized from day one. The packaging, the instructions, the upright positioning have all been noticed as good design. I like the fact that if the battery wears out, it can be replaced. I've not used the USB reporting yet, but will use it soon. For its price, I am well pleased.

This is a great battery back-up to protect computers from power outages. It has enough back-up power to allow computers to safely shut down when commercial power goes out. I have a number of this in my office. I also have several units by APC. But CyberPower is generally a little cheaper.

I had a CyberPower for about 10 years and needed a second one. This unit has a little different design and has a battery back-up, looking for this unit to out perform my old stand buy. You need to protect good equipment with a well built surge protector.

This is my third Cyber Battery Backup unit. I had purchased 2 over 3 years ago. They worked well but finally gave out. I like the product and would recommend to anyone needing assured power backup and surge protection to protect their computers.
