Set up was very simple. I have mine connected wirelessly with 4 Dlink cameras. The hardest part was getting all the cameras working. I can go back and view recorded events fairly easy now that I'm familiar with the NVR. External HD not included. You can connect 2 ext. HD up to 4TB each for total of 8TB, for lots of recordings. The reason for 3 stars, is tech support says it won't work with iPhone away from my wireless ntwk. They're supposedly working on a fix for this. If you don't care about viewing recordings away from home, this will work for you.

This nvr is an easy way to have multiple camera security in your home without paying extra for the service. The nvr does have about a 5sec delay so if you need exact camera recording i suggest you look else where

This recorder does what it is suppose to do. It will record four cameras at the same time and display four cameras at the same time. I can go back and look at videos stored on the hard disk. The biggest problem I had was setting up the recorder to work. I had to go to the web page on the recorder to use it. The security settings on my Mac would block the web page, it took me a little while to figure out how to turn off the security settings.

This is the least expensive dlinks nvr. If you need to record you security then you must have one. You also must buy your onw storage for the the data. It seem to have lag in the recording which is not a good thing if you need to record specific things happening but it works just fine for basic recording

This works well with the Cloud system. I have four existing cameras (different models) and I was able to have them all link to the router then the DVR. Although this doesn't have any memory with it, it's real easy to attach an external harddrive to have the video saved and reviewed later.

Although the installation is very easy and straight forward, the reliability is not. Routine failure to display cameras and you must physically/manually reset the entire device and set up again (losing all of your recorded data). Additionally, as an Apple computer user, it gets even harder. I finally got frustrated and had to break out a old W7 machine because of the Java requirements. I won two of these devices and have 7 cameras installed. My suggestion is to skip this device and perhaps look to their better units...

If you have dlink camera this what you need To record precious memories It doesn't take to much time to install and its easy to use I wish they would save video files as MP4

Love it! Easy setup. Works great on iPad. Not ready for Windows Edge browser. Could not get firmware update to install.

Bought this and have not had any success accessing it correctly from a remote computer. When it does access the unit I have zero ability to record an .avi as expected. This was a selling point for me and even after an hour with free support and being told to install java on my system when it failed I was told its a problem with the new java. ??? It also only connects with an insecure connection to your computer that support assures you this is normal. For now for the price it works recording 24/7 but I have yet tried the Dlink HDD viewer program to try plugging the hard drive directly into my computer for video transfer.

This recorder worked for a few hours (only for one of two cameras install) then shortly afterwards it didn't work at all. Still trying to get it up and running but already put hours so not sure if dlink was the route for me.

Does exactly what it says it will, records the video from my connected dlink camera. The mobile app is great, and allows me to turn off and on the recording feature, or I can schedule time frames to record (i.e. when I typically am at work).

Annoying to update the software, and it won't let you use it unless you update it if there is an update. But besides that the software is easy to use and navigate through the recordings.

Does what it suppose to do. The software could use alittle fine tuning, but I'm happy with it

I bought this because I have d-link cameras. It works ok, but seems to fill up the memory too quickly. I have a 1 TB external drive connected to it. When it fills up, it makes this EXTREMELY loud, constant beep until you unplug it. Very unnecessary. Not very practical and somewhat of a pain to set up.

I've purchases several of these and they normally work well. The last two I've bought I'm having some issues with. One would disconnect every so often and require it to be unplugged and replugged (reboot). This last one I'm having an issue bringing up the cameras for viewing. I'm switching desk tops so that may have muddied the waters. Over all I like the product.

I have several D-Link IP cameras and I wanted to be able to record motion video to a removable hard drive. After researching D-Link I found this product and it was on sale. It's been working flawlessly for over a month. This was a great find. Check the compatibility with your camera before purchasing as it does not work with some of the older D-Link Cameras.

If you plan on buying for home use, then highly suggested. But if you have a business application I would suggest a different item number. Capacity only for 4 camera and must run on IE, not google.

This product was a great investment. It providing me with exactly what I needed without the cost associated with other products.

Great for folks trying to get started on home security. It sets up in about 15 mins and works great..

It doesn't show up in the list when trying to do network scan while doing initial setup . Blue ring flashes. Please help.
