    1) the 256gb sssd is actually an m.2 memory stick. There is an empty space for a 2.5" sata drive. 2) The memory is 1 stick and there is room for another. 3) 256 is minimum you will want for win 10 and some programs and data. 4) The windows is Win 10 S - which is a pain to get rid since you must create a windows account to get rid of it. Otherwise, you can use as-is or get rid of it with the account and a few clicks. 5) paid $350 on sale 6) Works well as expected for an i5 with onboard graphics. 7) photos show back removed for access to disk drive.

The laptop works well for what I use it which is simply search the web and minor jobs. If not updated when it needs it, the laptop shuts down, goes into a blue screen and error message which by uploading the latest updated fixes it. The F keys and audio keys somehow aren't working, either theirs some to turn them on, I guess I haven't find out how to do it which I been using the touch screen to turn either raise or lower the volume. Besides that apps do run well, though I use it for simple jobs. I did remove the S mode on the laptop by watching a video through YouTube. So far laptop works well though you better off looking somewhere else.

      ALEX,

We're sorry to hear about the Blue Screen Error messages that you've been receiving. If you'd like to diagnose the errors you can follow these steps:

      1. At the desktop, click the Search the web and Windows box and type "problem reports".
      2. Select View all problem reports to view a list of errors that have occurred on your computer and possible solutions for them, such as updating drivers, flashing your system BIOS, or checking for updates to the software.
      3. Under the Source column, look for Windows and under Summary, look for Shut down unexpectedly.
      4. Right-click the line item and select Check for a solution.

We'd also suggest checking to make sure that your software and drivers are up to date on Dell's Product Page - https://dell.to/2rlFsde

You can read the full article here - http://dell.to/2u98Cct.

This is a pretty solid machine for the price. No real complaints other than a backlit keyboard would be nice to have as would cellular capabilities. Other than that I have no complaints and would recommend this to anyone looking for a good device without breaking the bank.

Bought this laptop for my 4th grade daughter back in nov, 2019 for school. Strictly only used for distance learning and occasionally playing roblox. Well taken cared off. Laptop crashed and stop working after 18month. Out of warranty.

My daughter has been wanting a laptop to use for Roblox and online school work. She's still young, so we didn't want to spend a ton of money but I also wanted something that was actually usable. We took a chance on this when the Black Friday deals came out and I love it. It's fairly quick to set up and I love that using her kid's Microsoft account means I can limit her screentime and have to approve downloads if they don't come from the Microsoft store. The touch screen is also a nice feature, although its resolution isn't the greatest. So far it's fast and responsive and runs everything we want. Battery life seems pretty good too. It's also very lightweight but doesn't feel cheap.

I love having a laptop, but I don't need one these days for any significant work. I use mine mainly for web browsing and some light work on Word (mind, you have to pay for Microsoft Office now) and a couple of other programs here and there. The specs on this won't let you down for basic laptop use including most school work I would think. Also, it's lightweight and great to use around the apartment, but I'd probably be a little careful with it if you're taking it on the go a lot. It's not cheap cheap, but it's certainly not indestructible. As others have mentioned, this started up in S mode. A quick google search helped me get into the normal Windows 10. No problem. I also got an occasional screen flicker after I downloaded google chrome, but a slight color modification in settings fixed that (this I also googled how to fix). I bought this at the doorbuster sale price of 350.00. Great deal for what I need. There are higher quality laptops, but if you're looking for an efficient, every day unit, then this should do and very tough to beat that price!

I purchased this Dell laptop as an early Black Friday doorbuster deal for $349.99, and this has been one of the best purchases from Best Buy in a long time. The laptop is quick to start up thanks to its Intel Core i5 and Solid State Drive. This is my first experience with an SSD instead of an HDD (hard disk drive), and the difference of speed between the two storage units is huge. It was also great that there weren't a lot of unnecessary programs preinstalled like other computers that I have purchased in the past, saving me time to figure out the programs that I prefer to have on it. Combine the fast processing speed with Microsoft Edge, which I haven't used before (I have used Firefox), and you've got a very fast computer for a bargain of more expensive models. Lastly, I wanted to give props to Best Buy for delivering my item to my doorstep in only one day for free! Now, that's great customer service.

I was super hesitant about buying a laptop under 400.00. It's early days yet but so far i'm loving this little thing. It has just enough USB slots, is really fast, and feels solid. Setup was a bit tricky because I'm not a huge fan of Microsoft privacy invasion and was faced with a decision of either getting the full windows 10 OS or settling on a basic tablet OS that controlled what I could and couldn't download/use on it. It's called Windows S Mode. A bit of a googling and I found a way around this, new to me, obstacle and have the full Windows 10 activated and running while privacy is back on as much as Windows will allow. (Not much we can do with all this personal invasion and I am old enough to remember a time where it wasn't like this.) Of course time will tell as I've only had this laptop for a day.

Got this (normally priced at 600) laptop on a doorbuster deal for only 350. At the time, this felt like a risky deal to me because I got burned on a dell laptop doorbuster last year. THAT laptop was a complete waste of money. it's more useful as a doorstop than it is a laptop, so you can see why I was a little gunshy to pull the trigger on another doorbuster. I did however, because 1 - I still needed a laptop, 2 - the specs on THIS one were pretty much double of last year's doorbuster, and 3 - it was close to 1/2 off the original price. There was not even the slightest reason to be even a little worried, I found out later. Once I got this thing home and started using it, I was immediately very happy. This laptop is fantastic. It's powerful, quick, and the touch screen is very responsive and pinpoint accurate. If you need a mid range laptop, and don't have a lot to spend, this is the 1 for you.

I purchased this laptop during Black Friday/Cyber Monday sales after my old laptop died for good. The price point was very important to me, as this was an unexpected expense. So far, I have enjoyed the speed of the laptop, the touch-screen aspect, and the lightweight compactness of this compared to my old Toshiba Satellite. However, the regular price of this and the Toshiba when I purchased it were the same, and I find that I really miss my backlit keyboard, beveled keys (I don't enjoy how flat and smushed together these feel) and my old operating system. I did not particularly enjoy the setup process for this laptop, but who ever does? And Cortana doesn't work, even after all the setup it forced me to do and lots of troubleshooting. Overall, since I don't care about using Cortana, i'm happy with my upgrade, but I would only purchase this laptop on a really good sale. My dad purchased one at the same time for $100 more and it has the backlit keyboard and the 2-in-1 folding, and looking back, I would have opted for those features. It's doing well for me though, and I would definitely recommend it if it's on a good sale.

First, I am an old school computer guy (at 47 years old), building computers since the 80's. Start there. When I build gaming rigs, they have longevity that are years ahead of the curve and go up in value (my Christmas 2012 build is a 5GHz, 32GB ram, overclocked 6 core that still outranks many modern computers built today). So when I tell you that I was looking for a new laptop to use on the road for work and that I was fortunate enough to be buying this week, I did my research and feel lucky I found this deal... Why? At $349, you aren't finding this deal anywhere else, I promise. For that, you get: - An 8th Generation i5 QUAD CORE (not dual), with a turbo speed of 3.9Ghz (on 1 core), with the latest technology for this chip set. - 8GB of DDR4-2400 ram (fast ram, not slower DDR3 or even slower DDR4) - 256GB SSD PCIe hard drive (not 32 or 64 or 128, a decent amount here. No additional 2nd space for additional drive, however, between cloud computing and how cheap flash memory is, pickup the Easystore 5TB External USB 3.0 Portable Hard Drive deal Best Buy has right now as that can't be beat either! - Windows 10 S which can be upgraded to Windows 10 Home, free, in just a few clicks during registration - 15.6" HD touchscreen and the audio, wow! I had in on 60 and it was LOUD AND CLEAR. Possibly the best audio I've heard on a laptop as most cannot be heard. - Fast wireless internet connect and bluetooth Oh, and it's a Dell. I won't criticize other brands here, but I will say that Dell beat out other major competitors over the years and some of the remaining others have gone down in terms of build quality so... Major factor here. - And an SD card reader (So if you already have a 64, 128 or larger SD card, you can use it as a fast transfer hard drive as well). I forgot, it's got a gorgeous black finish with a tuxedo pattern similar to what I've seen on high end Bluetooth headsets in the past and at only .8 inches when closed. The specs for the CPU with integrated Intel graphics is such that not only is it fast (to boot and use in browsing and tasks), but the battery life is quite decent as well, as long as 12 hours so. Make sure to download the FREE Intel graphics command center to enhance the look of your screen (enhance saturation, trust me!). As of this writing (11/29/2019) it appears to be sold out, and rightly so. THIS is the deal you want to look out for, if they should have them again before or for Christmas! :)

I purchase this computer for sale price of $399 and I am so glad that I decided on laptop. I did drop the S version of Windows and switched over to the full Windows 10 home edition. This is something everyone should do. By the way you have to register your laptop before it will let you switch to the full versions of Windows 10. This is a very fast computer. The 250 gig SSD is nvme which makes it even faster. So many features for this price it is unbelievable. I wish I had the money to buy two. This laptop boots up in 4 seconds! The touch screen is amazing. I can't say enough about this laptop. I know the price went back up to $599 for now but if you can catch the next sale you better by this one.

This is a pretty good deal for a quad core with ssd. A few adjustment are needed for a good end user experience. 1) Turn off Disk Encryption(if you need to switch out of S mode) 2) Switch from S Mode to Window 10 home. 3) Install Intel graphics command center from Microsoft store. Adjust the color settings as per your preference. I set mine to a saturation level of 80 and the display now is lively.

I got it on 2019 Black Friday sale and it was really cheap for the features it offers: less than 400 dollars. It works as expected. Really fast for standard use such as internet browsing, online classes through Google Meet/Zoom and Microsoft Office programs. I whish the battery would last longer and that the power cord wasn't that short (companies are making them shorter every year!). One thing I didn't like is that sometimes all of a sudden, without any particular reason, the monitor's brightness increases all by itself just for a millisecond, like a flash. It has happened several times.
