I bought 2 of these during Black Friday sales and they both came with amazon dots. So, great price for $139 and easy to install.

So I've used multiple smart thermostats, (Emerson Sensi, Nest E, and this) and they all are essentially just a fancy switch. Your home is cold? It kicks the heat on until it's warm enough to shut off. How this differs is that it gives you the ability to set a schedule and control the system remotely so that when you are not home or asleep, you aren't wasting your energy dollars to heat or cool an empty house. The interface is clean, but very comprehensive and contains a lot of extra options that can be super handy, but some may find intimidating. Also, this thermostat does require a 24v common wire, so installation might be slightly more challenging for some.

My first Ecobee unit was purchased a few years ago and I loved it. That model had the sensors. I believe it was the Ecobee 3. But it failed at the 6 month mark. Just went black. But it seemed to be related to a catastrophic failure of my heat pump which had to be replaced then. So I put my 25 year old Honeywell thermostat back on the wall with the new Bryant heat pump unit. It’s still working fine but it’s not a smart thermostat. Now I am excited to get the Ecobee functionality back with this new lite version and hope to save some money too on energy bills.

Initially this thing worked on because we installed it in the winter. Now that summer is hitting and we are using the AC, it is a nightmare. Look on line before buying ECOBEE and see all the complaints of thermostats reading in the 80's and 90's when the inside temp is in the low 70 or lower. This appears to be a chronic problem for these that we were not aware of and Ecobee IS aware of. We has a standard thermostat in the house (GE I think) and decided to go smart with the NEST which worked very well. When a lightning strike in the area fried that I went with ECOBEE because of reviews and features...not a good change. They will give you a bunch of reason why these things get a bad reading and keep your AC running forever, but there is no real fix unless you go to another brand. I have used a thermo scanner and there is NO reason this thing should be reading temps in the mid 80's to mid 90's inside my home mounted to a wall in the center of the house...but here we are and there is no fix for it.

Looks great! Works great! Operates as expected! My wife doesn’t even know when I turn the temperature down, life is good!

This has by far been the best purchase since we travel a lot. Being able to adjust the temperature while we aren’t at home is so nice

Installation was pretty straightforward. It took less than half an hour to get it setup and running.

Love the thermostat. As a previous Nest owner, I prefer the ecobee. Easy to install. Easy to use.

It took me a little longer to get going, because of my firewall, but when we worked out the kinks, it works well.

I like the function and operation system of the thermostat. Even my daughter can set up this thing by herself without any problem or issue.

I use this in connection with my Samsung Home Hub and it's nice to be able to adjust the temperature from my bed or couch!

This is my second Ecobee. I also have a Ecobee 4 for the main house. Bought the Ecobee 3 lite for the upstairs bedroom suite. Super easy to install. You can download the app with a video that walks you through everything step by step. Easily connected to the wifi and I am bale to monitor both in the Ecobee app. Also works with Apple HomeKit. Lots of programmable features and you can use the online app (or the iPad app) to monitor monthly use and compare to average homes in your area.

My home is alway the perfect temperature. Love the alexa capabilities as well

Smart thermostat installation instructions were easy to follow however my homes wiring was not. Took longer than expected to install however once installed great product. This is a product review after all. Easy to use, bright screen, and presets are a breeze. I only regret not getting this product earlier.
