I had some difficulty with the installation because the previous thermostats were made by Honeywell so there fore the wiring was different than shown on the instructions. I finally gave up and called customer service where a well informed competent person talked me through step by step to make the necessary wiring changes. I probably should have called immediately upon encountering problems. So my message is call Ecobee customer service and let them walk you through the process if you run into problems. Great product though.

Now that summer is hitting and we are using the AC, it is a nightmare. Look on line before buying ECOBEE and see all the complaints of thermostats reading in the 80's and 90's when the inside temp is in the low 70 or lower. This appears to be a chronic problem for these that we were not aware of and Ecobee IS aware of. We has a standard thermostat in the house (GE I think) and decided to go smart with the NEST which worked very well. When a lightning strike in the area fried that I went with ECOBEE because of reviews and features...not a good change. They will give you a bunch of reason why these things get a bad reading and keep your AC running forever, but there is no real fix unless you go to another brand. I have used a thermo scanner and there is NO reason this thing should be reading temps in the mid 80's to mid 90's inside my home mounted to a wall in the center of the house...but here we are and there is no fix for it.

The unit is fast accurate and easy to control with your favorite digital assistant. I use mine with Apple HomeKit and had one in the house in Atlanta I just sold and bought this one to pair with the brand new heating/AC system in our new home in North Carolina.

The Ecobee came with a white ring that covered up the old rectangular paint imperfections and it looks very nice. Easily connected to our wifi and I haven't had any issues with the wifi (owned for 1 month). The app was easy to use. I really appreciate the visibility to humidity which I didn't have with our old thermostat.
