The ecobee 3 was easy to set up and works well with Alexa and the ecobee app

Read the features and see if it does what you want (compared to the Nest). Quality, ease of use, and customization options are great. It does allow you to respond to occupied spaces, but it is not a true learning thermostat. If you just want a smart thermostat with easy to set heating/cooling times and levels, then this is a great choice.

I really liked this thermostat as it is easy to install and setup with iOS (Homekit).

I've had this product for a while now and thought I would give it a long term review. My Ecobee works exceptionally well; I love its simplicity but also the ability to make fine adjustments if you prefer to get down into the weeds. My only issue with this product is that every few days their server gets too many hits and I am unable to control it remotely for a few minutes (please try again later message). The problem goes away after a few minutes but it is annoying.

Fairly easy installation but had issues with the heating. Called ecobee customer support, and after answering a couple of questions, the tech identified the wire that was wired incorrectly and issue resolved. Turns out the original thermostat was wired differently than how it needed to be wired for ecobee to work correctly.

This is a good product. I really have enjoyed it.

Does what was expected. This is my second one as we have 2 AC units.

Husband spent really like 2,5 intensive days installing it, but only because our house needed 3! So yep, it works better than supposed to! They helped us on the phone at 10pm! Also found out there was something wrong with wiring and they sent new one almost immediately. Really recommend it, it’s cheaper than best and better

IF YOU DON'T OPERATE ON A REGULAR SCHEDULE, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND GETTING THE NEST. I bought the ecobee because I have a Wink relay & hub which allowed me to control the thermostat downstairs. Unfortunately Wink no longer supports Nest so I thought I would make the switch. Since I have had the ecobee my power bill has gonna way up, cause it doesn't change when I come and go outside schedule. I called support and the they told me a lot of people that had the Nest and switched were disappointed.. It has all this extra crap that's supposed to detect you but can't do the simplest thing like change to away & home.. It will change to away but it takes 2 hours for it to change to away, but if someone changed the temp from the set home temp, it puts it in a hold foe 2hr, 4hr , or permanent hold, which stops it from changing. You also have to use a schedule, for home and away to work.. Bottom line if your a robot and always get home and leave at the same time it will work great for you. The Nest has pretty much all the same features but also gives the option to keep it simple. I'm selling the ecobee and going back to Nest, I miss not having to wonder wether the AC was turned up or not before leaving the house.

I was able install myself and synced up with the smart app.

Better then nest. Able to connect and use right away. Install was no easy however.

No matter where I am, home, work, traveling, I can control my thermostat. I LOVE THIS!
