Bought this to try it out and not use something more expensive like a Nest, but it was not compatible, and required more work that it became a hassle. I ended up getting a Nest and installing it in less than 10 minutes. I couldn't use it because it wasn't able to work but the pain to install is enough for me to say not worth it.

The Ecobee3 Lite was a major upgrade for us from a basic digital thermostat. Its functionality allows us to adjust the temperature when we are out of the house, using a mobile app - came in very handy during the winters, knowing we could come home to a toasty warm house after we had activated the "away" settings as we left. We installed room sensors in our master bedroom and our basement, so the unit is able to adjust temperatures based on occupied areas of the house. The installation is fairly straight forward, although I had to use the PEK module due to the wiring in my house. Once I sent pics of my furnace wiring, customer service was able to talk me through the install, and it was clear sailing after that (depending on your wiring, you may need to have some wire nuts/marrettes on hand). One tip: before mounting your room sensors, place them in the area you would like to keep them for 36 hours, to ensure the signal is strong enough to maintain a connection - I mounted them right away, and later that night, the signal was lost, but reconnected a few hours later. I will need to move one sensor to another wall, but I look forward to utilizing the full functionality of the Ecobee 3 Lite. The Ecobee website offers detailed analysis of your furnace/air condition usage, and compares it to other users in your area.

No problems thus far, replaced a previous ecobee 3 after lightning strike and although it doesn't include a separate sensor, it works just as good as the original.

This little guy worked really well but wasn’t compatible with my furnace! Bummer!

It didn't work with my system. I needed three wire but only have 2.

First let me say I have 2 of these, and one has caused me no problems. The other one.... is a different story. After about 2 months I began to have compressor problems, so I called my HVAC guy. He came and found I had burned contacter points and traced it to the thermostat causing a voltage problem. Once he replaced it with a non smart thermo, the unit worded fine. This was of course $350.00 later.

It requres to connect with c wire. If your ac/heat doesn’t have c wire, this is not for you

I bought this about 2 months ago. We were looking to get rid of our security system that came with a thermostat. This unit is already paying off. Our energy bill last month was $50 less than it usually is. Highly recommend this product.

Bought 2 of these. So far I am really liking them. I have them set up with a smarthings hub and using the google home to do voice control. Looking forward to the usage report Ecobee provides after they have been in use for 30 days.

This is a good product but could possibly have issues communicating with your AC system

Not bad but took it back to get a Nest. Nest far superior.

Just love the way it looks on the wall, taking over the old Honeywell thermostat I used to have. My wife is obsessed with controlling the temperature through her phone. Works perfectly with our oil-heated house.

If you don’t know how to connect wires then you may have trouble installing this your self. It’s nice to be able to control and see the temp on your phone but the scheduling feature is kinda confusing to use.

Switched from the Nest in previous house to the Ecobee in our new house. We like them better than the Nest for the most part. Got these because the separate room sensors seemed to work better than the Nest.

Ok, its just ok not sure if i like it yet, have to give more time.

The Ecobee Thermostat is a quality product. I found it to be acceptable.
