Great WIFI Thermostat

Get an ecobee4
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Its a great thermostat, but why not just get an ecobee4, most likely your power company offers a rebate program or sells ecobee4's for less than the ecobee3 lite, and you not only get Alexa as an added benefit, but also a sensor that you can place

Very poor UX

The touch screen is laggy and the UI is not user friendly. For instance, to change the temperature you click on the side and drag it up or down. I am never able to get to the specific temp I want because of the cheap touch screen. On top of this, the auto comfort that Ecobee has created is complete trash. I've never known anyone who said they were comfortable anywhere between 66-74 degrees. Somehow their app is equally annoying to deal with. Go for Nest thermostats, they are fare and above superior.

Might as well not have a thermostat

I did my research first and I also used to have a google nest, I know how it should be and I'm not inexperienced in setting these up. Yet it has so many issues I might as well not have a thermostat. I'm not exaggerating. It doesn't measure temperature accurately ever - and no ecobee support, i'm not near any windows or vents- by a margin of 4 or more degrees. From there it continues to have issues with just sensing the temperature accurately taht I'm almost always having to take a laser thermometer and manually adjust it myself. Worse than that is that at least once a week I need to reset it entirely to varying success, because my AC will just stop, or come out hot. the compressor is fine, the actual AC itself is fine, I've had more than one HVAC guy come to check it out, the issue is the ecobee and only the ecobee. What happens is some weird misread when you change *anything*. So if I try to turn AC on or off from my phone or from the device itself it'll somehow misread that as disconnect from ac. It's a nightmare. Also keep in mind ecobee support is all through fb messenger, so if you don't use facebook anymore good luck. And even then they're not helpful at all and their whole job seems to be just gaslighting you into thinkin there's nothing wrong when their product is defective (in my case it's even possible that I got send a lemon, and they could just replace it as it's in warranty, but nope they refuse to) Seems like ecobee (in app) is ALWAYS experiencing technical difficulties too, and have yet to get or findo ut how to get any of the reports that it's advertised as giving.

Not a good experience at all.

Beware of The support (NON) they will make you jump through hoops and Not very understanding of my time spent on the message and phone. Never got it installed. BAD company to deal with.

Ecobee was fine now offline

No Savings Here

I see no difference in cost/electric usage over the thermostat this replaced. The change filter function seems like a nice idea, until I changed the filter, reset it, and now had to shut it off so I would not get notices to change the filter constantly. It seems to be reluctant to keep temp at desired setting. Used ir gun to check temps thru the house, including walls and objects. The thermostat itself runs very warm possibly creating the temp discrepancy, a couple inches away the wall is colder than desired temp in winter. Not sure how exactly the outside temp is figured, just know its not the same as weather reports (TV and/or apps). Currently reads 5 degrees cooler. Set up is reasonably easy, some instructions not so much though, especially if someones "tech" isn't their best thing to deal with. Still not sure when or if the "smart"functions are suppose to work or occur. Highly recommend NOT to connect this directly with your electric provider as it may cause you a ton of grief, better to keep decisions in house. Nice idea, for my purposes, waste of money.

Nonreturnable and nonworking

I hate mine

My Alexa goes offline randomly and she actually tells me she's unavailable??? I cannot regulate the temp in my house so it's either really hot or really cold. Too many times I've wanted to take a hammer and smash this thermostat into the wall. I called support to get help and after he couldn't figure it out the problem he just hung up even tho he asked for my # when we started in case we got disconnected. He never called back. I'd rather have an old fashioned box thermostat that I have to physically adjust than this thing. I will not recommend this to anyone.

Ecobee 3 Thermostat Broke!

Do NOT buy this model

Ecobee blames the router signal strength buy the more expensive models have no issue with 60% signal strength. Ecobee support will waste your time trying to resolve the problem and then blame your router.

JUNK! LASTS 5 MONTHS!

Come to find out all the prongs on the right side came off! I called them and pointed the finger at me saying I did it. Really? it's been hanging on my wall. Customer service is horrible, product is horrible. I'd rather use an old fashion one than give them my money again!

Beware!! overrated

Fought and fought with Ecobee customer service and they always blamed the issues on me and never would help. Finally replaced the junk with a much cheaper Honeywell that has almost all the features but works and is 1/3 the cost

Installation long, and it did not work. it turned to be the device was broken from the start, despite being brand new. Costumer service was not helpful. I would recommend avoiding this product.

It Arrived damaged, missing parts, and poorly packaged. Buyer beware, this listing is not for a new, sealed in box, product.
