Top notch product... like the fact that it's completely customizable through the app, touch-screen for manual controls, and also that it comes with a remote sensor. Only a couple of drawbacks... wish it was more "smart" to learn your desired settings automatically through use, and wish that it would come in multiple colors. But it's still my thermostat of choice for voice control using Alexa.

I like the design and the way it works. The touch screen is good and its attractive on the wall. I had Geek Squad install it. Luckily I had a C wire on the old unit. I have a heat pump and you have to set it for that or it will not work. The only thing difficult is integrating it with Alexa. Not clear or straight forward on how to do it.

    Much appreciated upgrade from Nest

This thermostat is far nicer than the Nest that it replaced. The large touch display is easy to read and navigate, which makes it possible for senior citizens to use. Built in Siri (and others) works extremely well, and this fills a gap in voice assistant control where it’s located. I haven’t previously used a separate temp sensor for another zone, but the included sensor has been beneficial.

The eccobe is everything we had hoped and more. It is intelligent and works in the background so you dont even need to think about your air temperature. You live life and it works on your behalf to make sure your comfortable. Simple things no matter how small can make an impact.

Great thermostat with clean air sensing and extra temperature/motion sensor. Works nicely with my HVAC and justifies its existence by sending power savings reports each month. Also it serves as a hub for ecobee ecosystem smart devices such as door/window sensors, cameras, switches etc. I like the HomeKit integration, and somewhat useful Google Home integration but Amazon Alexa did not come useful at all. The main con is its full price, quite a hefty investment with a hope it pays itself over the years.

I've got both Nest and ecobee devices. I have to say that this ecobee is more powerful with regards to features, and I like that it comes with a remote sensor. My installation was not easy, as I did not have a C wire. But tech support was helpful and returned my call in about an hour. You should know that it has a much bigger footprint than a Nest device.

My Google nest was going out, and my HVAC technician suggested the ecobee. This thing has been nothing but a headache. The settings were way to complicated. I got this in the summer and after multiple attempts to get the settings correct, I wound up paying another $200 just to have my technician come out and set it up for me. Afterwards it functioned as it should and the house was finally cool again. Fast forward to winter, I don't use dual settings, now my thermostat is all wonky again. The thermostat will show it's 70 in the house but it's freezing. So, I thought ok, just adjust the minus and plus in the settings to get it to read properly. Nope! Still, it will show the inside temp is 70 but it's still freezing in the house. I will set the heat to 72 to get the heat to kick on and 10 - 15 minutes later it's getting toasty; I look at my thermostat, and it now reads 67. So, tell me how the reading goes from 70 to 67 with the heat running and the house pretty clearly being warmer. At this point I'm not sure I want to spend another $200 to have a technician come out to work on it. I'm going to try taping the little hole where the wires come out of the wall and see if it works. If not, this thing is getting donated and can become someone else's problem. Thanks ecobee for all the money I've wasted.

Thank you for reaching out! We're sorry to hear about your experience, that’s definitely not the experience we aim to deliver. Based on your description, this may be due to a wall draft. We recommend sealing the hole behind your smart thermostat with plumber’s putty first. More details here: https://support.ecobee.com/s/articles/My-ecobee-temperature-is-inaccurate
