    I played around with this thing for days trying to make it work. It did a good job of vacuuming but 50% of the time it did not make it back to its station. The auto empty function only works if it has completed a successful cleaning cycle which it never did. I emptied the bin manually each time. I tried the mop feature on the last day before I returned it. I had multiple problems with the mopping. I gave up on the mopping quickly as I just wasn't happy with the overall performance and was tired of playing around with it. I tried the help desk 6 times (actual person was chatting) but all I got was canned messages copied and pasted into the dialogue telling me what to try - and it was a long list of things to try. Nobody seemed to actually know the product. Their support people also continually asked for a screen shot of my phone but I was on my computer which was not what they wanted. The app was also hard to use and not intuitive. You had to use the mapping features using your phone only. I had a large screen and still had problems setting virtual boundaries as there just wasn't room to maneuver on the screen. Overall, disappointed and returning it. Going to buy a competitors product.

    Overall good purchase, just needs more updates, there’s times it cleans the same place a couple of times and forgets to clean some areas

    What I like the most is its mapping. It does not run around like a chicken with its head cut off as someone described about other robots. When I asked the robot to clean an area under my desk in the study room, it went across our family room, thru a hallway, turned right into my study room and went straight to my desk and started to clean. Very impressive.

    This unit constantly loses internet connection. The "Deep Edge" cleaning function is a joke, the unit cannot edge clean.

    This Ecovacs X1 Omni is the third Ecovacs I've owned. I’ve also owned two others cleaning robots from different manufacturers. At this writing, I have the X1 Omni model and an Ecovacs T8 (with an auto-emptying station I purchased separately). There are a ton of differences between the X1 Omni and the older Ecovacs versions I’ve owned. The internal dustbin in the X1 is one such example. Older dustbins had two openings on the bottom used to eject dust and other particulates when an auto-emptying station is being used. The older dustbins would regularly get congested with material and would not empty properly. I did find a way around this congestion issue that worked well, so it wasn’t a long-term issue for me. The X1 Omni’s internal dustbin has been redesigned with only one opening on its side, and thus far I haven’t had a single issue with it not fully emptying. That’s a nice improvement, for sure. Originally setting up the X1 Omni on our home network was easy, as the App walks you through the whole process. Once the X1 Omni was fully linked to our network, adjusting the App’s settings was the next big step. I should note that there are a ton of options to adjust, so you could elect to just set up an automated run schedule and just let it go. However, tweaking the App so that the unit does what you want to do is critical to getting the best results from the X1 Omni. I did bump into an issue when configuring the x1 Omni to our time zone. I live in eastern part of the United States, so GMT -5 was the appropriate choice. I then scheduled the X1 Omni to Auto-run at 9:15am Monday, Wednesday, and Friday each week. The first morning it ran, it started at 10:15am rather than at 9:15am. After much ado, I realize that Daylight Savings time needed to be considered. It took a bit of research, but I found a “Sync with Your Phone’s Time Zone” option that was low-shaded at the beginning of the Time Zone settings page. I hadn’t noticed it because it wasn’t selectable. But after selecting GMT -5 much lower down under Time Zone, I backed out of the Time Zone settings page rather than returning to the top of the page where the “Sync With...” option was now highlighted. Anyways, I went back to the Time Zone screen and reselected GMT -5, then scrolled back to the top. I selected the now highlighted option and that did it. Auto-runs now kick off at the appropriate 9:15am starting time. One new feature I really like is its quick mapping feature. Our house is 2900 sq/ft, and it mapped our whole house in less than 10 minutes. With older units, mapping the house was done at the same time the unit vacuumed the house. Doing so, in my case, took close to 2 hours, so this is quite an improvement. While there are numerous big features built into the X1 Omni, I felt that the Quick Mapping and the Mopping features were spot on my favorites. The X1 Omni’s 3D feature, which I have only started to use, lets you specify the types of furniture you have in each room of your house. The X1 provides a list of furniture types for you to select from, although it is not a comprehensive list. It is workable, however. Going back to the mapping process, the Ecovacs App has a Map Management option lets you tweak what the map looks like for more flexibility during the cleaning cycle. For instance, the map showed my family room, kitchen, and dining room all as one large room. Using the Map Management tools, I was able to divide it into three different rooms. By doing so, I can tell the X1 Omni to go vacuum or mop a particular area without concern that it is going to clean the other areas as well. One shortcoming with this is how rooms are named. By way of example, I have a Family Room and a Living Room in different parts of my house. Since their list of room names doesn’t offer “Family Room”, I ended up with Living Room1 and Living Room2. Now, let me see… which Living Room is my Family room? Hmm. There is no issue with duplicate room names if you use the App to specify which rooms should be cleaned. In contrast, you will need to remember exact room names if you clean by issuing verbal commands to the X1 Omni’s voice assistant, OK YIKO. This assistant has a ton of built-in commands, such as saying “OK YIKO Start Quick Mapping”. Or “Begin Cleaning”. Or “Do Not Clean Here for Now”. A comprehensive list of commands is available in the Ecovacs App. The one big downside to the OK YIKO assistant is audio clarity. We had a good bit of trouble understanding what the heck it was saying. I tried adjusting the volume, but that didn’t help. We’ll keep making adjustments to see if it gets better over time. Mopping is a big feature of the X1 Omni, and it is really quite nice. Without getting into the guts of how many options are available for mopping, it does a solid job cleaning our wood and tile floors. During the mopping process, the cleaning robot will return to the docking station numerous times to replenish its clean water supply and to discharge dirty water. When done mopping, the docking station has a drying cycle to dry the moisture off the mops after it first rinses the mops with clean water. The drying cycle can be set to 2, 3 or 4 hours. The last thing I’ll note is how tall the robot is. Earlier versions of Ecovacs robots were able to get under our dressers without problem. This one, not so much. All in all, I think the X1 Omni is top-notch and it is a welcome addition to our household. I’m giving it 5-stars.

    Best Robot Vacuum

    I have tried many of the robot vacuum's and this one is by far the best I have tried! While I love it over all I will say they have some issues. First - the mapping feature could be better. It's the only vacuum I have tried that did not map my house right. I tried multiple times and it would never divide my living room, kitchen and hallway. I have tried to divide them myself by it will not let me do it the way I need it to be. Second - it does not go under my couch when cleaning, even though it goes under the couch and has plenty of room it will not stay under and clean. If they could fix these two issues with software update I would give it a 5 star.

    Its the best thing since sliced bread! It tells you what it is doing, before it does it. reminds you to fill the water, empty the waste. Does a great job vacuuming and mopping as it goes, the only thing it doesnt do is get into corners but OMG it is wonderful....I jus wish I could get one of my dogs or cats to ride on it!

    This robot is amazing! I have used it to both vacuum and mop and it does both very well! Had no issues with it and super easy to use. It also has a two way mic when you leave the house.

    I’ve had several robot vacuums, this being the most expensive I’ve owned, and the worst. The mapping is terrible, it’s inaccurate and still changes constantly, it’s become very loud, it cleans it random patterns and misses areas, everywhere, the object avoidance DOES NOT WORK, it bulldozes everything in its path, and just under a year of owning it, it no longer charges.

    This is by far the most amazing tech i got it for the household i mean my whole family so happy cuz we never have to do the mopping anymore i wish i got it long time ago we have 3 floors planing to get 2 more of these so i do not need to carry the base station to each floor to do mopping

    Device was nice for the first week. Vacuums great, mops okay. But the software is not where it needs to be. Does not avoid simple obstacles. Sock, baby toys and cords get this thing daily. It also cant tell where it can fit itself into. On multiple occasions its gotten wedged inder the couch and bookshelf we have, even to the point it scraped and damaged itself trying to force its way out.

    Evovacs is the WORST COMPANY EVER! Sent our robot to Evovacs' headquarters, which is based in California back in August. It's now middle of December. Nobody's ever even looked at yet to tell us what's going on. Everytime I call to speak with them about an ETA their response is that they're shorthanded and we'll do our best to get yours expedited. Evovacs are a scumbag company that should be forced to shut down. At this point, we've given up on the vaccum and are moving back to an iRobot.

    I bought this 7 month ago & the plastic Dust Bin broke. Being only 7 month old, it should be under warranty. But they said it is a consumable item. How is a hard plastic Dust Bin a consumable. I order 2 new dust bin that where lost in the mail. I called customer service & they will not replace the order.

    This vaccume is very nice i’ve been testing it for couple weeks now, No complaints at all if you are tired of sweeping and mopping and the majority of your floors are not carpet give it a try!

    We purchased this item thinking it would help out with keeping the floors clean in between our weekly manual sweep and mop sessions. We were sorely mistaken. Over the past year I have made 6 different complaints to customer service about this device not working correctly. The only solution that was available for us was to receive a refurbished machine. We are now on our 3rd refurbished machine and discussing problems with customer service once again. With each machine comes a different defect, the least favorite was when the machine actually started smoking while in the charging station. The most recent defect is the mopping pads will not rotate to clean the floors in mopping mode. My wife and I are extremely upset and disappointed with the price we paid for such terrible quality.
