The mopping is the best part!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This review is for the ECOVACS Robotics - DEEBOT X2 OMNI Robot Vacuum & Mop, with Mop Lifting, Auto-Cleaning Station. I’m going to focus on the mopping function, the most here. This has to be about the fourth or fifth robotic vacuum/mop I have had. And one that only mopped. And I don’t use any of the other ones at all any more. All of them take longer to set up and clean than they are worth. It was always easier to just get out the old fashion mop and clean that way. Now don’t get me wrong here I’m not hoping/thinking a robotic mop is going to completely eliminate the need mop by hand. I’m just hoping it will allow me to go further in between times that it’s needed. And so far this DEEBOT X2 OMNI has done just that. The unit it self is on the larger size. But it houses both a clean tank of water and a dirty tank of water. So I can set it up once and don’t have to worry about it for a week or more. When mopping the unit will head back to the station to empty out the dirty water and refill the clean water 2 or 3 times per cleaning. And when done it runs a self cleaning of the mopping pads and then drys them out. Now 90% of my floors are hardwood or tile. But when the DEEBOT does find an area rug. It lifts the dual scrubbing mopping pads and only vacuums the rug. This has been by far the most maintenance, free, mopping unit, I have owned. I love it. Now set up was fast and easy. Not to much to assemble. After you find a spot for the station/charging unit. Just charge it up and the first run will just be the mapping of your house that is really done the fastest I have seen by any other unit. After the mapping is done you can label each room or dedicate areas that you want to clean more often or apart from others. The only thing I don’t like about this unit so far is the fact that the vacuum empties into a disposable trash bag. That will need to be replaced. Not sure how often yet. But that will depend on the size, pets and foot traffic of your house. Every other robotic vacuum from multiple different companies that I have owned all just empty into a bin that you can empty out and maybe you just need to replace a filter once every six months. But this added cost won’t stop me from keeping this unit in my line up. I just have my other units that only vacuum run first and use the DEEBOT to mainly mop.

Almost there!
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had two other ecovacs in the past and they worked better than iRobot plus they washed the floor but not very well., this unit washes quite well and also vacuums better and goes into Corners which is a very good feature. Problem is sometimes it seems to just get lost and sits there and keeps trying to do the same thing and goes nowhere until you interrupt it. Not sure what to do about that, I'm going to try reaching the factory. Also the auto intelligence feature, when you utilize it sometimes the vacuum just wanders around and doesn't vacuum or mop and goes back over the same area several times without doing anything, this tends to run the battery dead and then it goes back to the station and comes out later to do some work. It works better than any previous ones and has more features but it still needs some software updates absolutely. I would give it a 3.8, at least until they update things and get them more functional

ecovac X2 omni
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Ecovacs Deebot X2 Omni is a sophisticated piece of technology that merges the convenience of robotic vacuuming and mopping into a single, sleek package. Offering a plethora of advanced features designed to make cleaning less of a chore, it stands out in the crowded market of smart home cleaning devices. This extensive 4-star review will delve into its capabilities, with a particular focus on the challenges it faces with mapping and cleaning patterns. **Design and Build Quality (5/5):** The Deebot X2 Omni impresses with its elegant design and superior build quality. Its compact, rounded shape allows it to navigate tight spaces, while its sturdy construction ensures durability. The docking station is not just a charging hub but also serves as a cleaning station, showcasing Ecovacs' commitment to innovation and convenience. This thoughtful design philosophy extends to its user interface, both on the device and within the app, making interaction intuitive and straightforward. **Battery Life and Suction Power (4.5/5):** With an impressive battery life, the Deebot X2 Omni is capable of cleaning large areas on a single charge. When it does run low, its smart return-to-charge feature ensures it resumes cleaning right where it left off after recharging. The suction power is robust, effectively picking up dirt, dust, and debris on various floor types, from hardwood to medium-pile carpets, highlighting its versatility as a cleaning tool. **Mopping Functionality (4.5/5):** The mopping feature of the X2 Omni is a game-changer, offering users the ability to vacuum and mop simultaneously. This dual-action capability is enhanced by the device's ability to automatically detect carpeted areas, raising the mop to avoid wetting them. The mopping performance is commendable on hard floors, tackling spills and stains with ease, although it might struggle with more stubborn, dried-on messes. **Smart Features and Connectivity (4/5):** Integration with smart home ecosystems and the accompanying app adds a layer of convenience to the Deebot X2 Omni. Users can control the vacuum, set schedules, and customize cleaning modes with ease. Voice command compatibility further elevates the user experience. However, the highlight feature—its advanced mapping technology—while ambitious, presents notable challenges. **Mapping and Navigation (3/5):** Despite boasting sophisticated LiDAR navigation and the promise of creating accurate maps of your home for efficient cleaning routes, the Deebot X2 Omni sometimes falls short of expectations. Users have reported issues with the device's mapping accuracy, where it occasionally fails to recognize or incorrectly maps certain areas, leading to incomplete cleaning jobs. Furthermore, its cleaning pattern can appear random at times, with the robot missing spots or cleaning the same area repeatedly, which can be frustrating for users expecting a methodical approach. **Random Cleaning Patterns (3/5):** Connected to the mapping issues, the seemingly random cleaning patterns of the Deebot X2 Omni detract from its overall efficiency. Instead of following a logical, grid-like pattern that covers every area, the vacuum may navigate in unpredictable ways, reducing its cleaning effectiveness. This randomness can lead to increased cleaning times and areas being overlooked, which is not ideal for users relying on the vacuum to maintain a consistently clean home. **Conclusion:** The Ecovacs Deebot X2 Omni is a feature-rich robotic vacuum and mop that promises to simplify household cleaning with its dual functionality and smart features. Its design, build quality, and mopping functionality are particularly commendable. However, the device's performance is marred by issues with mapping accuracy and random cleaning patterns, which can compromise its cleaning efficiency. While it offers an impressive array of features and conveniences, these navigational challenges prevent it from achieving perfection. With a 4-star rating, the Deebot X2 Omni is recommended for those who value innovation and are willing to overlook some navigational quirks for the convenience of having a robotic cleaner that can both vacuum and mop.

Great at first. Had some issues after 8 months
||Posted . Owned for 10 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have owned this robot for almost 1 year. We had tried Amy different robot mops to complement our roomba. None of them worked well. So we gave up. After a number of years the combo vacs started showing up. I researched a lot to try and find the one that would work for us. I was skeptical about this one, but decided to give it a chance. I am glad I did. Our floors have never, on a regular basis, looked so clean. There is a bit of maintenance required. Now for the bad. About 8 months in we started having trouble with the main brush making a lot of noise. We sent it back to get repaired. It was still under warranty. It was fixed and seemed to be working well. Then after about a month the floors seemed dirty. The vacuumed was not mopping anymore. We sent it back. The vacuumed was then replaced with a new one. Ecovacs was responsive and friendly. They have made things right. I just worry about the durability. What happens when the 1 year warranty runs out?

Works well with a lot of features
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall, very pleased with the performance of this product. Yes, it does vacuum and mop well. I like the feature that it will mop and vacuum at the same time. The two mop heads are excellent and I think this style is better than the Roomba method. I like the pre and post wash for the mopping and the two containers hold an adequate amount of clean and waste water. The video camera on the front is a cool feature and works very well. The robot seems to get confused as to where it is and where it needs to go. The voice feature does work and that is nice. I need to figure out how to get it to go under furniture. It is not clear how much cleaning solution needs to be added, I use a 1/4 cup. There are a lot of features in this product and the cleaning part works well. I think the app and the mapping and the navigation will need some attention to really get this to a 5 star.

omni x2
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had the Ecovacs T20 and absolutely loved it—until my son decided to “test” it with his basketball. After that, I picked up the X2 Omni, and overall it’s been a solid replacement. Cleaning performance is excellent. It picks up dirt and dust really well, and I’ve noticed the water tank system is way more convenient than the T20. Less mess and easier to maintain. However, there are a couple of downsides. It seems to go back to the station a lot more often, sometimes in the middle of a clean. Not sure if it’s recharging, cleaning the mop, or just taking a break! Also, the battery doesn’t seem to last quite as long as my old T20 did. Still, it’s a great robot vacuum/mop combo and I’m happy with the upgrade overall—just wish the runtime was a bit better.

Mostly great; the map is troublesome,
||Posted . Owned for 11 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'll start with the reason I deducted a star: the mapping part of the app is not great. We have an open floor plan and the default mapping does mark off most rooms. But the "divide rooms" function fails all the time, so I have one BIG room that is most of the downstairs. Other than that, the unit does a good job cleaning and the error reporting is good, too (jammed roller, empty water tank, required maintenance warnings, etc.).

Lots of potential, but sadly sort of a mess.
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Oh my....where to start. This vacuum had so much promise. It looks fantastic with all the specs i had been seeing. Then we picked it up and brought it home. First map creation it worked pretty well except it didn't scan a door for one of the rooms. It would never clean that room and we discovered on trying to send it to that room that it would roll off the dock and then state cleaning complete and return immediately. We tried 8 times after to map and it would recognize walls in the house. It just showed the house as one big room. The robot woeked very slowly, it spun around and times, and it had issues maneuvering. That said, it did good when it worked. I feel that there must be a software update coming down the line sometime, but we had luck with our Ecovac T10 plus, which works beautifully, so we just returned this one and went back to it.

Don't buy this trash.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Buyer Beware. We bought a Shark robot vacuum several years ago, and (to avoid the pun) it wasn’t great. It worked alright, but after a while it became more annoying to deal with than anything else. We replaced it with a generic stick vacuum, and it still works great. My wife broke her knee, and I’m admittedly terrible at keeping up with vacuuming, so we started talking about giving a robot vacuum another try. Even as she healed it was difficult for her to be on her feet for long periods of time, and I remained more willing to be the focus of her ire than push that stupid stick all over the house every day. I have reaped what I have sown. After tons of research, we decided to splurge and get an Ecovacs Deebot X1 Omni back in May. Worked like a dream. Loved it. She was happy. I was happy. Then around the end of November, this thing started to lose its absolute mind. It began with small things like randomly not being able to find the dock or just stopping in the middle of the floor and giving up, and is now not vacuuming, mostly unable to dock properly (finds the dock, backs in, comes back out, adjusts, backs in, comes back out, adjusts, backs in, repeat until battery dies), and the dock leaks water all over the floor (empties every drop of water in the reservoir onto the floor). I have bought replacement parts, cleaned the entire machine several times, and tried every troubleshooting guide for this robot that I could find. Nothing helped. So I reached out to Ecovacs. I originally called and explained the situation. I was then told that they were going to send me an e-mail and I needed to take video of the robot to prove that it was doing what I said it was. Honestly, I have never been told by a company that they were assuming that I was a liar until I proved otherwise, so I got pretty grumpy. I did what they asked, begrudgingly, because I am currently the owner of a $1000 paperweight only good for watering my floor. I sent them my receipt, videos of it not vacuuming and being generally useless, pictures of a giant puddle, and a description of everything that has been happening. I also said I wanted a new one or my money back (a long shot, I know, but worth trying). In this email exchange I have been told that they will only “try” to fix my vacuum “if” it’s actually doing what I’m saying it is. They will give me a label to send it to them after I resend my receipt that was attached to the original e-mail labeled Ecovacs Best Buy Receipt that they couldn’t find attached to the email that it was (I checked) definitely attached to, and asked me to write them a review (which I would, but Best Buy doesn’t sell this thing anymore, so I guess I’ll just post a review wherever I can). I replied with my receipt attached (again) and asked what happens if they “fix” it and it just breaks again in another six months, and if they were going to send me a box to ship this giant thing in because I don’t still have the original box. The next reply completely ignored my first question, but then assured me that I shouldn’t worry about the box because I could just go buy one myself and then fill it with whatever trash I have laying around the house to keep it from getting damaged during shipping. “For the box, please don't worry. We suggest you buy any box that can put the machine into it. But please make sure that the machine won't be damaged. So, we advise you can find some old newspaper or foam to protect it. That will be ok.” Even if I did buy newspaper or foam for some reason, I don’t have the habit of hanging onto garbage just in case I end up not appreciating spending $1000 to have my floor kind of cleaned for six months. Also I need to send the serial number, which seems like something that should’ve been asked for initially, and ASKED ME FOR THE RECEIPT AGAIN. I am perfectly capable of buying a box and packing materials, but that’s not the point. I have spent an unbearable amount of both money and time on an issue that, after six months, I shouldn’t be dealing with at all. My wife and I are both nurses, and both work 50-60 hours a week. Our free time is valuable and we are both easily insulted when it is wasted. I have contacted Best Buy on the off chance that they’d be willing to stand by the products that they sell, with no response. You would think that a company would at least act like they care when a customer that has spent over $13,000 in their store over the last two years is having a problem, but I guess not. I’ll just go ahead and post this review everywhere. Along with pictures of my puddles and my wife’s broken knee, since I have to prove what I say. Have fun with that. Don’t buy this trash.

Good robot but could be better
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall the robot is good but for the price it should be much better, I've noticed it doesn't go along the edges in a straight pattern it will kinda zig zag and miss spots which is the biggest issue, I've had a cheaper robot do this simple task much better. Having the LiDAR sensor in front and not on top affects the navigation as it gets lost sometimes and doesn't have 360 degrees to look around. The mopping is really good and so is the station.

Great vacuum with some quirks.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great vacuum with some quirks. Mopping in particular is a strong suit. Vacuuming does well too. The app is so/so and a bit confusing at least if you're used to some other brands apps. After a few months I started to have some of the issues other reviewers have reported where it acts erratically when navigating. Sensors didn't look dirty but cleaning them fixed the issue. It must be more sensitive to being dirty than other robot vacuums because we've had many over the years and hadn't run into anything like this before.

Did not Perform Even the Basic Functions.
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought the ECOVACS Robotics - DEEBOT X2 OMNI Robot Vacuum & Mop with Self Cleaning Auto Empty Station with high hopes after watching videos. After 2 days of not being able to do the easiest jobs, I gave up and returned it to Best Buy for an $1044.99 refund. The only thing positive I can say for it was it is quieter than my Roomba 7i. The vacuum did not map well, went into 4 rooms that it did not include in its map, attempted to return to the docking station by trying to go through a wall, and wandered around a mapped room aimlessly. I carried it back to the docking station and let it charge tried again. The next time it needed to be charged, it tried to return to the charging station 25 feet away through an open door and 2 sheetrock walls. I got the message it could not detect the docking station so I carried it back to the docking station again. After working with it for 2 days, taking instructions from Ecovac people on the phone without success, I gave up and took it back to Best Buy for an $1044.99 refund. I am surprised after watching the videos, it could not perform even the most basic functions. I will continue to use my Roomba 980 and 7i and hope a mopping vacuum to come out that works. The ECOVACS Robotics - DEEBOT X2 OMNI did not come close!!!

Amazing, upgrading from X1 Omni
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had a lot of robot vacuums in the past from various manufacturers and none worked as they are advertised, but all that changed with my first Deebot T8+, which just worked so well, since then i decuded to upgrade to X1 Omni, and with that purchase I decided to stick only with Ecovacs Deebot. My only issue with X1 is its round shape does not fully reach edges of the walls and unable to fit under small spaces, but all that changed with my X2 Omni purchase, which previously I thought it could not get any better eith X1, but I was wrong because X2 Omni is just amazing, first due to its shape now it vacuums right to the edges if the walls, and with changed mopping pad placement it also mops right to the edges of the wall, additionally it fits so well under small spaces, and my floors are much cleaner and shinier. It is quiter than X1 and charges faster. Additionally X2 now has AI, and what a difference, pretty much perfection. I haven’t seen issues with vacuum getting stuck or bumping into things, objects avoidance is spot on because it gets so close by addressing the cleaning aspect while not bumping into them. Base of X2 is smaller than X1, so it doesn’t look so out of the place. Most complaints from people are due to application of Ecovacs, and i do agree that it beeds work, mapping is not satisfactory, but i dont use it, i just set schedule scheduling daily and that is all. I do wish app had level of water in the reservoir, I think that would simplify things. While this vacuum is on pricier side, I bought it with black friday deal and i think it is worth it. I highly recommend this product.

Not worth the price, AI is a joke
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Pros: - All the hardware to do an amazing job - Great vacuum (loud on max setting but good picking up dirt) - Brush roll is great mine never tangled - Station is amazing cleans the mops and empties the vacuum great - Mops did great and cleaned well Cons: - Missing major software features and capabilities - The app is complete garbage. Mine had major issues creating rooms on the map. It would map my whole house and somehow go through 3 or 4 doors thinking it was all a living room. You couldnt seperate the rooms either. - The AI is a joke. Mine got stuck almost every night it ran its scheduled cleaning. It would get hung up on rugs, blankets, cords, shoe laces, toys, etc. - The vacuum wouldnt even clean a fraction of the house and somehow, it would say "Complete" and it would clean randomly in rooms in no order and only clean 5 feet and finish. The software need major patching and work. Read reviews online about mapping and not completing. - The vacuum for the price is nowhere worth it. Buy a roborock or eufy. Please wait until this vacuum is below 600 before buying. I went through 2 of them. First one had a station issue with cleaning the mops. This one ran amazing for 3 weeks then went stupid.

I’m hopeful it will do better
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The first one we purchased had a malfunction with the wheels that would not fix itself. It ended up being a dupe, but luckily Best replaced it easily. Set up was a snap it mapped the floors accordingly. Does seem to vacuum pretty well. We only have travertine, hardwood and vinyl flooring. Unfortunately, it has gotten snagged on extension cords. Bathroom mat stuck in a corner and unable to get out the AI doesn’t seem very intelligent to me as the navigation is less than optimal and another negative is that it loses its charge quite easily. It needs to recharge after only cleaning two rooms, and that takes a significant amount of time, therefore a two hour cleaning job that was accomplished with the previous version now takes 4 to 5 hours.

Want to love it but I hate this thing
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have owned two Ecovacs Deebots prior to this one and they were so much better. My previous one was the T10 but after 6 months the sensors got so messed up internally it would be in the middle of an open floor saying it was stuck. I got the X2 Omni as the only option. First the good, the moping feature is so amazing. Now the bad. THE POOP AVOIDANCE FEATURE DOES NOT WORK. It ran over an unexpected pile of poo and tracked it all over my white carpet leading to hours long clean up. The mapping seems to have taken several steps backwards too. My previous machines had an amazing map where it would identify different room barriers etc. this one does not and trying to divide the map takes an act of congress to say the least. You also can’t easily set up the order of how you want things cleaned. The brush is subpar and I feel it takes forever to complete simple tasks. The battery life isn’t too great either. Ecovacs really regressed with this one. I miss my T10

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had huge hopes for this thing. It needs updates bad….. constantly getting stuck against walls, its cleaning patterns and mapping are all so poor currently. Maybe with some updates it will be an okay robot vacuum but for this price tag is makes me want to send it back and get the older model. It seems like the more square body of it makes it get stuck way easier. Coming from a ECOVAC T8+, if it wasn’t broken I would rather have the T8+ to be honest. Will update if things change.

Excellent robot in this price range
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My wife thought I was out of my mind spending this much money for something we could do for free but after just 1 cleaning she came around to my way of thinking. Not that it can totally replace a regular mop & a good quality vacuum for our carpets but for daily cleaning it does an excellent job & removes a surprising amount of dirt from our tiles along with an inordinate amount of dust & dog hair (courtesy of our golden retriever) from the carpets. It does an excellent job on just the medium suction setting. There have been far fewer episodes of this robot getting lost & not finding it's way home than on any robot we've owned prviously or from what friends & family tell us with their own robot vacuums. It also rarely gets tangled on things like dog toys but it's not immune. It self empties into a bag in its home station & in my case the bag lasts about a month, again thanks to my dog. With a shorter haired dog or no dog you'd probably get close to the advertised time between bag changing. Overall it does an amazing job & if you're looking at spending this much for a robot vacuum you couldn't go wrong with the X2 from Ecovacs.
