We're having a big problem with the lint trap coming out while drying. First time we figured it was our mistake for not pushing the lint trap fully in place (we thought we did). That cost us 2 socks that were caught in the blower. 2nd time it happened I knew we were being careful to make sure the lint trap was fully seated. Lost sock #3. I pulled the front off and placed a screen in front of the blower. The lint trap came out again. 3rd time in 3 weekends of drying, but at least I didn’t lose any more clothes due to the screen I installed. It seems to happen most often with stretchy yoga style pants. I caught it on video. Not that great of video, but I still got it. Electrolux did send a repair tech to have a look but literally all they said was use a laundry bag. When I explained the Maytags and Samsungs I had in the past didn't have this problem he repeated that we should use a laundry bag. Personally I think Electrolux should replace the door with one shaped like the washer. That would fix the problem. With all that said, the first 3 weeks were problematic. The past few weeks have been without incident. One last note, I noticed the issue with lint build up on the dryer seal as the Last1IHope reviewer, but with other issue I figured that waa too small to complain about.

We havent owned this dryer for two full years and I’ve replaced the belt three rimes now. All three broken belts were related to the lint trap. Somehow a sock made it through and got pulled into the original belt. The two most recent breaks were both caused by a button on a shirt getting caught on the lint trap and that statyed a twisting and pile up of the clothes inside that must have frozen the drum. Poorly engineered.

    Lint trap snagging clothing

    Posted .

Have had it for about 2.5 months, Lint trap keeps popping out and snagging clothes. Snagged a bed sheet today and seized the entire dryer…luckily we were home because it was overheating the dryer and once we shut it down it wouldn’t restart. And now it won’t spin. Either ruined the belt or Motor that spins the drum. Needs to have a latch or something to lock the trap in place
