Elgato products can be tricky sometimes but I love all of my elgato products. It's not always the cheapest but it is definitely worth it.

I use it daily with my iMac to do zoom sessions with a Panasonic GH4. Let’s me use my camera so I get better results in low light. Takes audio from the computer or the camera, or whatever source you choose. Recommended.

Works well for streaming with Nikon D3200, only issue which may not be related to Cam Link is my camera shuts off or freezes sometimes and the only fix is unplugging and plugging Cam Link back in

I had been eyeing this product since the start of my pc build process. So I finally bought the cam link to complement it. Although a bit expensive, I wanted to get something to jumpstart myself into livestreaming. Normally I love Elgato products, but the Cam Link is the first one I really disliked. I think this product is a good way to use a DSLR as a webcam. That is, if it can work as intended in the first place.
Problems with the Cam Link began when I first plugged it into my PC and tested on Elgato's main software, Game Capture HD. However, three things happened: the Cam Link either won't get recognized, it did get recognized BUT it showed a frozen live view of my Canon 77D, which is listed as a compatible Cam Link camera by Elgato, or the screen goes black. I tried everything to make the Cam Link work since then. From using the main software, changing the recording settings (1920x1080@60ps, 1280x720@30ps, etc.), using Streamlabs OBS, and I even contacted Elgato Support to help me. Although I appreciate their help dearly, the drivers and programs they asked me to install still didn't fix the biggest issue that the Cam Link didn't want to be recognized by my own computer as an actual camera device, which only shows up as "USB Video Device" under "Cameras." Worst of all, when I plugged in my 77D into the HD60 Pro, it worked just fine. The thing is, how can I use the HD60 Pro to capture footage from one of my game consoles if the HDMI input is being taken up by my DSLR?
So I ended up returning the Cam Link recently because I was tired of how stressful the whole thing was and there was clearly no solution in sight. Trying to find solutions online to this problem were clearly no help either. Moving forward, I will probably go after a webcam, even though it can't do 1080@60fps, but at least it won't have as many hassles as the Cam Link. Overall, the Cam Link has a lot of potential, but I got unlucky and ran into enough problems to conclude that this wasn't for me. Some people may have had the same problems as I had, other probably haven't. So if you are looking to up your setup for either recording or streaming and looking at the Cam Link, do a little bit of further research and ask around how the product really is. Just be careful before purchasing this.

Works pretty good but sometimes OBS does not recognize the Video Capture the Cam Link is assigned to so you must unplug and replug the Cam Link into the computer for it to recognize it.

Very easy to use, but turns out our camera was not compatible with this device. Make sure you check the list of cameras it supports before you purchase. We had to return the item.
