Lags/runs really hot
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I like the way that this laptop is laid out. But when just browsing the internet the laptop would run really hot. Plus there was always a delay when closing or selecting programs.

Broke my heart
||Posted . Owned for more than 2 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Beautiful, but the one I bought kept getting a black screen. It overheated easily. I stopped using it when smoke came out of it. Unfortunately, didn't get to use it much. A bit big for traveling.

Everything I needed in a laptop.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased laptop on 12/2/17 and I love it. I installed Flight Simulator x with everything turned up getting 30fps at 1080p. Cinebench r15 score is 600 and passmark 9 is also impressive at a cpu score of 8343. During benchmarks laptop temp high was 86c and the fan blowing full and noticeably noisy. Temperatures quickly dropped to 48c when benchmark ended. A cooling pad brought benchmark temp down to 78c. Laptop did lockup trying to run futuremark 3D 2003 benchmark. I had to do a hard reset by holding down the power button for 5 seconds. The hard drive is fast enough for me loading Flight Simulator x within 10 seconds. Speaker sound is very good great for games and listening to YouTube videos. I installed clear rubber cabinet bumpers in the four corners of the laptop to raise it up on a flat surface for airflow and purchase a wireless mouse. I don't like touch pads. I had to buy an external DVD drive to install my older programs. Overall I am very happy with my laptop.

Nothing to be satisfied
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This laptop was great at first... then started to regularly overheat and crash... then battery was getting weaker day by day to the point where I couldn't use it more than 1 hour after unplugging the charger... worst part is the processor getting burnt-out, paid $150 for replacement and since then it ever never the same...

Freezes, Runs Hot, Hinge Screen Case Split 7m old
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This laptop has been horrible from the first few weeks I had it. My husband bought it for me for Christmas. First thing I had the screen freezing up after some update. HP did fix it with the remote assistant. Similar issues with windows updates. Finally figured out how to turn them off because my laptop would malfunction after every update wasting tons of time with HP assistants that are slower than slow. From day one this thing runs extremely hot if you try to do more than check your email. Do not even try to play a game or it will be burning hot! Now 7 months later I noticed the left side of my screen splitting when I would try to open and close my laptop. This thing is supposed to go all the way around to use as a tablet. I have never even used it that way. Just opened and closed it. Never dropped, Never even took it out of the house. I am a senior so I am gentle with things. Upon closer examination it appears that the left hinge is loose and not quite aligned right. HP said send it back and they would rush the fix. They sent a box and paperwork that does not reflect what I was told. Nothing about the actual problem I was having or the rush and the free pick up I was supposed to get was not included. I was uncomfortable sending it back so I researched online and found that I am not alone with this hinge issue, and some people had been waiting weeks to get theirs back. The hinge issue is a common one because it runs so hot that it melts some flimsy plastic part that eventually melts and causes the hinge to fail. Of people that sent it back under warranty most were accused of dropping it and told it would cost them to fix it. Of the ones who paid for the fix it only lasted 3 months, so I decided to just chalk it up as a loss and taped the screen edges to reinforce it so it can not split open. I am just going to baby it along until I can go buy something else. Horrible experience. Will NEVER buy HP again!
