I like the convenience of the Epson-EcoTank ET 3850 All-in-One Supertank Inkjet Printer. I like the idea of not having to spend a lot of money on ink cartridges. The only complaints I have is the printer makes a lot of noise when printing and the time it takes printing my jobs.

I had an older model printer that required cartridges and typically needed to have the heads cleaned before each intermittent use. It was SO frustrating! I saw reviews of the Epson EcoTank which addressed these specific concerns so took a chance and purchased it. I'm SO very glad I did! The set up was very easy and it prints great every time

Abandon small capacity & expensive ink cartridges!

I use it to print documents (b&w, color, some images); I don't use it for photo-printing so can't comment on that aspect. Filling the ink tanks is easy and operation is straightforward. The problem I had with some other printers (different brand) that have the smaller capacity cartridges is that I'm an infrequent user and the cartridges would "dry up" such that I wasn't getting sufficient use out of the cartridges. My initial usage with this printer was good, and then after about two months of non-use, I needed to print a large document (>200 sheets, front and back). I printed one sheet as a test and it didn't look good. I had to run the cleaning procedure twice and then it was printing just fine. The document was then printed without any issues from the first to the last page. The large capacity ink tanks give me the confidence that I won't run out of ink in the middle of a print job.

EcoTank is slick alternative to ink cartridges

I bought this to replace a Cannon printer with great print quality, but which burned through costly ink cartridges. It was easy to set up and easy to fill the tanks. We just started using it, but it works well and seems well designed. The only thing I had to do is set the Windows device default to "High" vs. "Normal" print quality to match the Cannon on small text blackness. I still expect to save significant money and annoyance vs. changing ink cartridges so often.

I love my new EcoTank printer! The set up instructions were very easy to follow and the print quality is great. Filling the tanks was very easy, with no mess. I haven't printed any photo's yet, so I can't speak to that, but if the photo quality is anything like the paper print quality I will be very satisfied.

    Good Long Term Printer Investment

The Epson ET-3850 purchase involved a lot of research on various options. When our Canon Pixma MX 922 printer began to fail, we tried to fix it. But those efforts were unsuccessful. The repair work would have cost more than the printer was actually worth. What a shame! So, we had to make a change decision. After all the research, the Epson EcoTank system was the best of the options for us to proceed as we needed a reliable printer for all our home printing needs. The total cost of the inks as well as the initial cost of the printer made total sense when thinking of the long term operating costs. Having said that, we still hated to give up our Canon printer as the Canon printing quality was outstanding, second to none. And we knew all of the Canon's idiosyncrasies! It was also a heavy and solidly built printer. While the Epson printing system is clearly a better long run investment, the actual build quality is not up to the build quality of the Canon MX 922. The Epson has a very light and "plasticy" feel compared to the Canon. But the Epson printing quality, while not quite up to the level of the Canon, is more than acceptable. So, we hope the long-term investment of the Epson ET-3850 will prove out over time.

I had an old HP Printer that I didn't really want to part with. It did not support airprint, it was slow, bulky but very reliable. This new epson printer really turned my head. Half the size, lighter weight all the latest features, love the scan to cloud, fast printing and copying. I'd buy it again at this point. Also - love the full ream of paper! No loose paper hanging around. Interested to see how long the ink lasts and if it has any clogs. We'll see!

I've owned this printer for 10 months and have printed pictures, flyers, and random items and my ink levels are at or slightly above 3/4 full. For all the printing I've done, I would've easily replaced my cartridges at least 2 times with my old HP 8600. This printer pays for itself in the ink savings and the print quality is excellent! I'm super happy with this purchase and highly recommend it!!

I love that it's small, it has all the features I needed and easy to install. The best part I only needed to purchase paper to print as it comes with the ink.

We have been an Epson user for many years and have seldom have any problems with any Epson printer. We use this printer for our home and seldom run off large amounts, this printer prints super fast and the prints are very clear. We had our last Epson printer for over 7 years and only replaced the ink 2 times. The cost is a bit more than some of the other printers, but I don't mind spending a bit more to have good quality.

I just love this printer. I had always had an HP but my daughter talked me into getting the Epson she loves. I am glad I did, so easy to use, priced right, printer ink is great and the outcome is beyond expectations.

Husband bought this for me for Christmas. Super easy to setup and use. Setup went so smoothly I had to go back and make sure I didn't miss anything. All other printers I have had to setup always seem to give me some sort of trouble but not this one.

It is a perfect printer and easy to use for daily moderate use but if you are seeking picture quality perhaps this isn't the printer for you. The mobile app is easy and convenient. The setup to pair to the laptop was fairly simple. The only thing I would have wanted was better quality in prints. I would make it clean & calibrate it and even manually modify the printing settings and wasn't too impressed with the printing quality but it gets the job done. The ink lasts a lot longer with this printer as opposed to my HP printers. I only bought this printer because my HP printer stopped working after 7-8 years, I preferred its printing quality. I had used a similar printer to this one at my job and it had better printing quality. I am almost certain it was the same model but maybe it isn't.

This Epson printer is absolutely amazing! It prints beautifully rendered richly colored prints as well as crisp black and white very quickly and efficiently! I love the Large volume of prints that are available through the Eco tank system. No more swapping out cartridges you just fill the individual ink tanks and you’re off to the races! Excellent quality at a great price!

I am really pleased with this printer. I got it to replace another older Epson that used cartridges instead of the "tanks". It was easy to set up and the print quality is excellent. One of my favorite features is the automatic document feeder. I now can can multiple pages at a time which is great. The only thing I am not thrilled with is the control panel. My old printer had a touchscreen. This one has a keypad which is a little more cumbersome to use. For example, to turn off the printer, you can't just simple push the power button. Once you push the power button, it asks if you want to turn off the printer. Y, then then have to push the right arrow to toggle to "Yes" then press the OK button. Too many steps, IMO. All in all great value and good performance for the $$.
