Not much to say about this power supply other than it did exactly what I needed it to do. I bought this for a new Gaming PC build I started which consisted of an Intel i9 9900K on an Asus Strix Mainboard with a GTX 1070 GPU. I then was able to snag an RTX 3080 FE. (thank you Jesus!) According the all the power draw specs of everything I knew on paper this PSU should have plenty of power to do what I need. It sure did and I have not had 1 problem with it. All of my other PSUs have not been modular so this is my first one. I will say spend the extra money and get modular. It make cable management and case cleanliness a breeze. You will no doubt love this PSU. Worth Every Penny

This is a semi-modular PSU which is fine for most everyone, unless you want fully custom cables, you should be buying a higher end PSU anyway. But for most this is complete overkill. Pro’s: Semi-modular: one less cable to plug in!
It supplies power!
Cables are long enough for any reasonable ATX case
Con’s: Its big
It’s entry level grade so the warranty is only 5 yrs.

It fit like a glove into my Corsair 220T chassis. The braided sheathed 24 pin power cable is excellent and makes the 850 a semi-modular power supply. The extra cables for SATA, Vid card, etc are just your generic ones you get with any power supply. They are not bad and do the job but I ended up buying higher end cable (most you can't see anyway.) That was my choice. I try to buy a little larger power supply than I need for future upgrades. Especially with power hungry Video cards and the newer chips that require more and more voltage not to mention any water cooling or RGB upgrades you might want. The price is on the high side but you really pay for what you get here. EGVA power suppy units are proven performers. Buy with confidence.

Great and reliable and COOL. Powers my Ryzen 7 5800x, msi 570 gaming edge Wi-Fi, sabrent rocket q4 4TB, sea gate barracuda 2Tb, 4x8 Corsair vengeance rgb 3200 ram, EVGA 3070ti FTW3 ultra gaming, aRGB GPU brace as well as 6 Corsair rgb case fans, 1 Corsair rgb cpu fan on a 212 cooler master. It’s well made and quiet. I couldn’t be happier.

It made sense to me waiting 6 months or more for a review of any purchase I make to actually reflect my opinion of it. Things break, have bugs, etc. This EVGA 850W GQ PSU isn't one of those items.
Since day one of replacing my PSU with this model from a 650W, I noticed a more stable system overall and better efficiency out of the power socket also.
The solid build and use of Japanese capacitors was one of the main factors which convinced me on this particular model.
I have a power hungry i7-8700K and RTX 2080, 32GB RAM along with 4x4TB HDD drives, a 970 EVO Plus M.2, and two 860 EVO SSD. I wanted to make sure everything had sufficient power along with room for future expansion.
There are no issues so far with this PSU and I'll be sure to update this if anything fatal happens before the excellent 5 year Warranty expires.

This EVGA power supply is probably one of the best and most efficient PSUs ive bought. Had two thermaltake PSUs die on me back to back at the same 850w rating. this one is strong and very efficient. highly recommend this EVGA power supply. Especially for anyone using a similar setup to mine, R9 3900x, RTX2080Super, 32gb vengeance rgb pro ram at 3466mhz, X470 gaming 5 wifi MoBo.

I purchased this for my custom built system. This unit is powering a 5800X, 3080 GPU, 7 case fans, 3 NVME drives, CPU AIO (water pump cooler), various RGB accessories. Ive had NO issues at all. Not once have I received a "Power Limiter" notification while monitoring my hardware.
That being said, verify you are purchasing enough wattage for the system you are installing it into. There are several different internet sources that will allow you to input your desired hardware specs to see what you need.
I purchased a lower wattage rated unti for my sons PC, same mfg and model group. No issues with his unit either.

Powers my build just fine even eith an rtx 3080 10gb and a ryzen 7 5800x. In all i have a duel fan liquid cpu pump, 32 gb of rgb ram, 2 ssds, a nvme drive, 1 mechanical drive, 3 rgb fans, 3 normal fans and an rgb strip and have never experienced any power failures or blue screens. Have used it for over a year now powering this build and still no signs of struggle.

Almost completely modular.
Supplied flat cables are my preference.
Silent operation.
850w is the sweet spot for 2020.
The ATX cable is longer than needed for a mini-atx case and a little shorter than it could be for a full-size atx case.
Unless you are building or replacing a light the economy switch does not seem to serve a purpose.

Bought this for a graphics card upgrade. I've had it for around a year with no issues at all. Great price for a decent PSU that has treated me well. Using it to power my Ryzen 5 3600 and 6700 xt with no problems.
