I purchased an alarm about 15 years ago when they were first talking about them and every time you plugged it in it would constantly go off. The fire department comes thru our neighborhood once a year and I showed it to the fire marshall and he said it was junk and get my money back. I decided to buy a new one and IT WORKS.

We purchased this to replace the exact same item that had been in place about five years. It is most convenient to be able to plug in this alarm and thereby reach it easily to replace the battery or to check on a beep or chirp. Whether the item actually detects gas or not I do not know and have, thankfully, never had occasion to discover at first hand, but unless the manufacturer withdraws it from the market, I can only assume that it has been tested to do what it claims to do. I would not discourage someone who, like me, finds it reassuring to have the alarm in place, but I would not actively advocate for the item as it is not cheap and I do not know if it actually works as advertised.

Bought for my parents; easy to plug in and for it to start monitoring. Was needed because their hot water heater was found to be leading carbon monoxide fumes....so a bit late to the party so to speak but thankfully, was found soon... but from this point forward, it will be monitored regularly. Great product and satisfied with purchase.

I like that this one can detect propane, methane, and carbon monoxide. I have it on the main floor near the natural gas furnace and door to the garage to warn of any leaks or issues from the furnace room or carbon monoxide from the garage. It eats through 9 volt backup batteries faster than I expected though. The first 9 volt battery I put there only lasted 5 months before it gave off the low battery warning. It was also a bit pricier than I expected. But it is a brand with a good reputation, so I'm hoping you get what you pay for.

So happy I got these after installing gas appliances. I was not aware that a CO2 detector may not protect you so it is comforting to have the extra protection. Very easy to install. Just add the battery and plug it in.

I had to get this to replace my old one. This is a gas and carbon monoxide combo alarm. This particular combo seems to be hard to find. It was cheaper at Best Buy than Meijer. Set up is easy. You can plug it in vertical or horizontal. Testing is easy and the light up screen is easy to read.

The CO Alarm product can be taken from the package and plugged in for full protection from harm. The unit also has battery backup in case of a power outage. Appears to be a good system for the money.

The detector gives us a lot more peace of mind after having a gas leak under our house recently. Easy to read the detector. I would highly recommend it.

Directions were easy and the digital screen is bold so you can see it. I hope it never has to detect any explosives in my house.

Screen is difficult to see but at least it gives you a peace of mind knowing you and your family are safe. A little pricey but if it saves a life then it is worth it

Replaced electric stove with gas. Carbon monoxcide monitor was required. City inspector gave thumbs up on this device. Easy to install. Easy instruction on how to set alarms & response

Easy plug in device. I like it because I put it into my kitchen to detect both Natural Gas (stove and oven) and Carbon Monoxide.

A great device to detect carbon monoxide and other gases. Plus with the battery backup if you lose electrical power in your house.

My neighbors has a natural gas leak and had the First Alert alert them in their house. Never thought of having a natural gas warning until then.

Works as described. Feel safer knowing this is running in the background. Like the blinking light that lets you know its working

It has been working really well. I would say by this from here instead of Amazon.

We trust the brand. 7 years ago, our son experienced a problem with his gas heating system. He was sound asleep and a heavy sleeper. This brand saved him, (and his cat), Our new purchase is plugged in, all ready to alert us in the event of a problem with gas, smoke, fire…. It is loud!! We would not even consider another brand, First Alert, all the way!!
