Customers are enthusiastic about the Gallery 5.4 Cu. Ft. range's fast heating speed and induction cooking capabilities, citing ease of use and quick cooking times as major benefits. However, some customers note that the cooktop is easily scratched and requires induction-compatible cookware. A few also mentioned concerns about the sturdiness of the bottom drawer. Overall, the positive feedback on cooking performance outweighs the negative comments regarding specific features.

So, I went to Best Buy expecting to spend over $2,000 for an induction range. When I saw this one, I thought it was a price mistake. LOL - So, I quickly bought it. I LOVE this range. I boil water in like 10 seconds, even faster than my little NuWave induction cooktop. I had to buy new pots, but that was fine because I love stainless steel pots. If a magnet doesn’t stick to the bottom of your pots, they won’t work with an induction range. Also, buy some Bar Keepers Friend pot cleaner (it cleans the burned on food from your pots like magic). You will need it - I promise. This is a great first induction range, be careful, it cooks very fast!!!
Oh, the bottom drawer doesn’t fit well (see photo). It’s flimsy, but not a real deal breaker.

Quick heating and cooking elements. Did a lot of baking today and the oven preheated extremely fast and items baked perfectly! So happy with this range.

Heats fast and looks great. Had to buy new pots and pans because you need magnetic pots and pans. We couldn't figure out why it wasn't heating. It has this sensor that looks for a magnetic connection prior to heating. It was worth getting new pots and pans.

Got Cast-Iron?

I ordered my stove only AFTER checking with Consumer Reports. This brand is top rated for induction and has no recalls. I spent three hours online researching all brands, coil, glass-top(have now and hate it... gobbles up energy... FINALLY it broke down.) I settled on Induction and this particular model from checking Con.Rpts and recalls.
Okay. 'nuf said 'bout that. I settled on and purchased this range at 8p Sat night online. I got up at midnight in a PANIC! I use cast iron skillets for 1/2 my stove-top cooking to get iron in my family's body! What was I thinking!
Early this morning I tried to cancel my order. No can do. Then I thought... wait. Iron? Isn't that magnetic? Isn't planet earth's core ferrous?! Yes! I grabbed a magnet off the refrigerator and stuck it on to my 1950's beautiful cast-iron skillets. (I'm no science major!) Voila, I'm in biz! I'm so happy and can NOT WAIT for my Frigidaire Range to be delivered. Once I use it, I will write another review of the pros and cons of this unit. I'm so Confident in my choice!

Poorly built, cheap materials, but works OK

We bought this range to replace our 6 year old Kenmore Elite Range, which blew a fuse in the filter board after a short life of 6 years. The Frigidaire and Kenmore Elite are both made by Electrolux and many parts interchange between our old and new ranges.
So we decided to buy a new induction range instead of repairing the old one when we realized the repair would cost more than half of the cost of the new range. We researched our different options and reluctantly went with the Frigidaire after I saw that the circuit boards had been redesigned from our failed Kenmore unit. By the way, if you want to see the similarity between two products, look at the parts list at a website such as searspartsdirect.com. There I discovered that the Electrolux, Kenmore Elite and Frigidaire had essentially the same innards.
Anyhow, the Frigidaire was out of stock, so we had to wait more than 2 weeks to get it delivered. When it arrived, and the delivery team unboxed it, they found it was damaged - the control panel was bent in significantly on one side. That was our first real hint that the Frigidaire might be chincy.
When the second unit came a week later, it looked OK, so we accepted it. However, when I went to install the power cord, I discovered that the factory had overtorqued the screws for for the power wires. Despite having good tool and years of mechanical experience, one of the screws refused to break loose. Luckily,we did not have our old range hauled away. So, I ended up switching the junction block between our old range and our new one. When I removed the junction block from the new range, I noticed that the power terminals were barely snug.
Once we had power to the range, it started up and seems to work fine (hence 3 stars), but we noticed other issues. The storage drawer did not line up with the rest of the oven - it was not parallel to the oven door, it was bent in on one side and it opened and closes stiffly. When I compared it to our old range, I noticed that the tray was mounted on ball bearing on the old range, but on cheap Nylon or Delrin slides on the new range. A little bit of mechanical manipulation got the door to look more presentable, but I could not get it to slide easily, because one of the guides did not line up with the rail it was supposed to fit in.
Finally, if you look down the front face of the range, it is clear that the range door does not fit squarely - it sticks out more on one side. There are numerous other examples of poor fit and finish, but I think you get the drift. So if you do not mind a range that is assembled with the quality level of a 1970's era American car, this range might fit your bill.
As for operation, everything seems OK, but we have only used it for 1 day! The "induction noise" is barely noticeable, much quieter than our old range. The power controls work well. The oven did not have any odor issues when first used.

Intro to induction

This is a great way to not invest heavily in a technology you want to try. This stove seems to have all the desirable aspects of induction cooking with the exception of one. That one exception is having a cool to touch burner area as soon as you turn off the heat and remove the pot or pan. I have seen much more expensive units that have that feature. Not really a deal breaker though since we were already used to not touching a recently used burner area and there is a warning telling you the area is still warm.
The other induction characteristics are there - quick heating and quick response to changes. It is much much better than a standard electric cooktop.
Not sure if the more expensive units do this but there is a noticeable hum when you are using high power. It is definitely not loud or annoying, just different.
We are very satisfied with this stove and think it is an excellent value.

Cooks well but poorly assembled

For the record, I took delivery today and have cooked only one meal on the range so far. On the one hand, I'm delighted at how well it cooked (baked salmon with mashed sweet potatoes). On the other hand, the range is so poorly assembled and of questionable safety that I really have to wonder whether I should return it for a Samsung.
The poor assembly wasn't apparent until after I had taken delivery and looked at the range from an angle. The storage drawer is misaligned and crooked. There is no obvious way to correct the issue without moving the range.
The safety issue has to do with the over itself. I baked salmon at 400F for ~25 minutes. It performed very well - consistent with a previous higher end Frigidaire convection oven I owned. Unlike the previous oven, this one heated up the glass cooktop to the point that one of the induction burners reported that it was hot (HE) despite having never been turned on and used. I only needed 1 burner to boil potatoes and it wasn't that one tiny one in the back. The edges of the cooktop were also quite hot - hardly the cool to the touch as advertised for induction. I'm also concerned that this could damage the butcherblock countertops on either side of the range.
I'm waiting for a Geek Squad service call on Wednesday. Stay tuned...

I was transitioning from gas to electric in my new home. My past experience with electric I was disappointed but love this induction cooktop. Heats up as fast as gas and cools down quickly. Also if you turn the burner on without a pot on it it doesn't heat up,at all. That is great.

I have owned a small portable induction burner for several years now and have used it extensively, so I knew I wanted my new range to have induction burners; what I didn't realize was how efficient and helpful it would be to have 4 of them! I totally love having them at my fingertips whenever I need them. Cooked some large meals over the holidays using the whole range to the maximum and have to say I'm delighted with it. Induction gives you so much more control over the speed of heating up, as well as reducing temperature , Time and time again, I found myself surprised at how much easier it is to put together a multi-dish meal with the 4 induction burners, and a good reliable convection oven. I am very happy with this range.

This thing just amazed me. I've already owner mine for over a month now and have had zero issues with it. My only current draw back is that because it's so new and different from anything I've ever owned, I needed to change my cookware and a lot of my cooking habits. This thing heats up the cookware crazy fast to temp and keeps it there. The heat is also evenly spread throughout so I don't have portions of things burning because of hot spots. The oven also heats up way faster than anything I'm used to so now I need to find something else productive to do with all the extra time that I have not waiting around!.

We really like this stove so far. Cooks very good. We did have to purchase new induction cookware. Our old town craft would not work.
I love the way the convection oven cooks. It cooks very evenly. My daughter has complained it takes a little longer to cook frozen pizzas at the same temp as the old oven. (Seems strange to me as it should be faster. ) I don't think this is an issue, maybe we just need to learn to cook on it. So far I think the quality of food has been better. (After all, the pizza bottoms aren't burned any longer)

Make sure you buy or have cookware compatible with induction. I went with stainless steel. Cooks incredibly hotter and faster compared to gas. Get solar and operation doesn't cost you anything.

We were considering converting from electric to gas, but when we read about induction cooking, we were sold. After considerable research, we decided on this Frigidaire. Awesome range and especially like the oven rack that comes out when I open the oven door. No need to use pot holders to take a peak at how food is doing.
Induction cooking is amazingly quick, so getting used to that. So far everything is great about this range. Looks high end.

Some people complained about a cheap build and weird smells but I did not experience any of those. I have had my range for a solid 4 months and this thing is a machine. We upgraded from a higher end propane range and let me tell you I'm stoked I made the switch.
The holidays are coming and I have plans to put this thing through the ringer.
I did the entire set up my self and it was straight forward enough. You need to have 220 power instead of just 110 but I got it done. The power cable is a separate purchase and you need to make sure you get the one that matches your outlet after that it's pretty much plug and play.
I needed to buy different cookware as my originals were not magnetic and therefore not "induction ready"
This thing heats up super quick and if I'm not carful will burn my food. I needed to change the way that I cooked because this is a completely different heat source than open flame. But this thing gets water to boil in just over a min. It's crazy!
I'm super happy with my purchase.

We like the range very much. The induction cooktop is working great. Heat is evenly distributed by all of the burners to the pots and pans we have used. The oven also works very well. The only negative is that we don't like having the bottom rack attached to the door. We highly recommend this range so far.

In trying to keep our utility bill lower, I have been cooking on portable induction cooking elements for a few years, as well as using a countertop convection toaster oven. I can proudly say our electric bill is rarely over a $100 a month. This range has the induction cooking surface and the convection oven. I LOVE it!
