I just used it as a temporary in my living room dining room until I had my central air fixed. But I like it so much and it’s so cheap to run I’m going to put it in my garage because I have a workshop out there. Would highly recommend

This can be quite bothersome and we completely understand your discouragement. We recommend reviewing page 15 of the owner's manual (linked on our website) for descriptions of normal operating sounds to rule out any potential issues. Additionally, check to make sure the unit is installed correctly, as improper installation can cause excessive (installation instructions are on pages 9 through 13 of the same manual). Very happy with both of them. So glad I purchased GE products. Easy to install and they do a great job of cooling off the house. Placed 1 in the Kitchen and the other in a spare bedroom.

As with small your conditioners they tend to be a little bit loud this one is not silent but certainly quite enough.

Broke down after a summer

Easy Installation

Note that the installation involves putting screws in the window sill so if you have vinyl windows you may want to consider something else.
