I live in Minnesota so this thing went in in June and got stored in September. I'm not a huge fan of the noise and cost of running an AC so I only used it rarely. My guess is it was used 10-15 days each of the last two summers. It cooled okay in my 12 x12 living room, but didn't really reach being that. Installed this year to find it no longer cools. Followed all the GE troubleshooting with no success. The air filter was spotless, to give some idea how much use it had before it died.

I'm learning braille. CONS: • Very loud fan. Low Speed sounds like High on others. Not good for a bedroom. • Compressor has the same noise as most cheap AC, except the loud fan masks it.

It doesn’t keep the room that cool at all. I’ve tried lowering the thermostat and it still only cools for a little while before it maintains that temperature. I’m sweating when I should be freezing after having it on all night long. I’m not happy at all and would not recommend. Very disappointed!

Posted .Hi there, we're terribly sorry to hear your air conditioner isn't cooling well for you. We can imagine how frustrating this is with the rising temperatures and we're happy to help. We recommend the following tips: 1) Make sure the air conditioner is properly sized for the room. 2) Check to make sure nothing is blocking the front of the air conditioner. When the unit is blocked by curtains, blinds, or furniture, the air flow is restricted and cooling performance will be affected. 3) Consider the temperature of the room when the air conditioner was first turned on. If the room was very hot it will take longer to cool the room. 4) Check the thermostat setting. The highest setting will provide maximum cooling. Great AC for my budget...easy installation!

I love the "Eco" setting, as it helps to save me some money on my electric bill. Its quiet and it fit my budget perfectly! Im pleased with my purchase.

It really needs a better filter tho. The current filter doesn’t work on fine dirt particles and I’ve already had to clean the unit cuz it got clogged up and making a noise when running.
