I measured my room and bought this to replace my old ac. I read many reviews, and trusted the GE brand. This 6000 BTUs ac should have been more than enough to cool my bedroom. Its not. Not even close! Im still hot at night making it uncomfortable to sleep. We havent even hit our high temps here yet. Im disabled and I have MS so it was a lot of work to get it upstairs and installed. That coupled with the fact heat exacerbates my condition its upsetting. I just installed it 2 nights ago. I came to look in to purchasing a different model and see that my return window is closed. So frustrating.

Stopped working after a year.

Turned on my ac today it came on and shut right off when I got one blow of air. Flipped my circuit breaker, still not working and then I hit the reset button after letting it rest still not turning on. Wish I didn’t waste money on this unit when other brands of ac last wayyyyy longer than GE apparently. Look somewhere else other than buying this unit.

Remote is a nice feature but I'd rather be cold than have the convenience of being able to turn it on/off without getting up.

DO NOT BUY!!! I do like the remote on the one that works still.

While we're glad one of our units is working well and you like the remote, we truly hate to hear you had an issue with one of your air conditioners not cooling properly after just a few weeks. We know that must be frustrating and would like to assist. If your filter light is flashing, we would recommend removing and cleaning the filter; information on doing so is available on page 8 of the manual. A clean filter is also very important for proper cooling, so this may help with that concern as well. You also may want to make sure airflow is reaching the unit and it's not obstructed at all. Further troubleshooting details for your cooling concern are available on page 14 of the manual. If you think you may need to take advantage of the one year limited warranty, information on that is available on page 17. Your feedback will also be sent to our Air Conditioner Design team for future review and development, as we always want to be aware of any potential issues. You would think technology could actually make a whisper quiet ac unit in the year 2021. Apparently not.
