I love white noise so I was fine with the normal noise of the fan. Unfortunately, tonight the unit started making an extremely loud noise that does not stop and renders the unit unusable -- think a mixture of an airplane taking off + a nascar driver using a drill to install new tires. TERRIBLE. Unfortunately I'm a few days out of the return period, so I'm left with a $250 piece of trash.

We are happy to hear that this air conditioner has met your expectations in terms of performance, but we can definitely understand how frustrating it would be to deal with an unexpected filter light. Luckily this issue can be easily resolved. The filter indicator light needs to be reset manually after every cleaning. This can be accomplished by pressing the "Filter Reset" pad.
