I bought 2 of these units and will return both of them for a very simple reason. The window sleeves WILL NOT stay attached to the AC unit! Very poor design, they just kept pull out of the 3 little groves that attach them to the unit. Very disappointed.

This unit was designed for a small room. The unit pushes out ice cold air that covers more than one room. In addition to it's ease in installation it is pretty quite when running. For rhe price it's hard to beat.

Hello gsanchez - We are very sorry to hear about your air conditioner. This is certainly not something we expect to hear and would be happy to help. The model number of this unit is AHP06LZ and can be found with the serial number on the side of the unit. This may be blocked by the window if it is still installed. Hi there,

We're truly sorry to hear that your AC is not producing cooling air and understand how aggravating that is.
If your room air conditioner is not cooling properly, please check the following:

      Installation:

Make sure the air conditioner is properly sized for the room.

Check to make sure nothing is blocking the front of the air conditioner. When the unit is blocked by curtains, blinds or furniture, the air flow is restricted and the cooling performance will be affected.

      Ambient Temperature (Environment):

Check the outdoor temperatures. Operating a room air conditioner if the outdoor temperature is 70 degrees Fahrenheit or below will limit the cooling capacity of the unit.

Check the indoor temperatures. If the room is 64 degrees Fahrenheit or below already, the thermostat cannot cycle the compressor on.

Consider the temperature of the room when the air conditioner was first turned on. If the room was very hot it will take longer to cool the room. When heat is stored up in walls, furniture, rugs and draperies, it will take longer to cool the room down. Whenever possible, turn the air conditioner on before the room heats up.

      Ice on Coils/Clogged Filter:

If there is ice on the coils, then the outdoor temperature may be below 70 degrees. The best way to prevent ice on the coils is to not run the unit if the outdoor temperature is below 70 degrees Fahrenheit. If the temperature is close to 70 or you are unsure of the temperature, you can turn the thermostat to a warmer setting and set the fan switch to the highest position.

Make sure the air filter has been cleaned in the last 30 days. Filter removal and location varies depending on the individual model.

      Setting/Operation:

Check the thermostat setting. The highest setting on a model with a mechanical (knob) dial control will provide maximum cooling. Setting the temperature to a lower setting on a model with electronic, digital controls will provide maximum cooling.

Cycling on and off too frequently means the unit may be oversized for the area to be cooled or the filter needs to be cleaned. Let us know if you have any additional questions. Mike@GEA GE_Appliances

Compressor is very loud for a window AC unit. Best Buy return policy is a joke. GE warranty requires you to purchase a new one with your own money then wait months to get reimbursed. Worst purchase ever.

Oh no! We're so sorry to hear about the trouble you are having with this air conditioner. This is certainly unexpected and we'd appreciate the opportunity to help. When set to cool to a certain temperature, it is normal for the unit to stop cooling when the temperature has been reached. The air conditioner requires 115V and 15 amps. Please make sure this and any other items you may have plugged in, do not exceed the electrical capacity of your system. We hope this helps and you will keep in touch. - John@GEA GE_Appliances
