    Just bought this unit to replace an older and larger unit. This unit is louder and doesn’t cool the bedroom off like the old one. I thought buying a new one 10 years later would show improvement with noise level and cooling room offf.....not. I want to return!!!!!

    A small unit that did the job for my small apartment, until it stopped working completely after just over a year — conveniently JUST being out of warranty. Not recommended.

    Terrible unit… no matter what the setting. There was a loud rattle sound coming out of it!

    Not a great window AC, look at other models instea

    I purchased this unit on July 4th and worked and cooled perfectly, then a month and 2 weeks later stopped cooling down and started icing up. Refrigerant leak and low refrigerant now. A new window AC should past longer than 1.5 months. Ive had problems with this GE window AC in the past too a few other times...a new one lasted 2 months and another lasted 1.75 months. Look at another manufacturer window AC and avoid this one.

    Item is trash a fan would be a more viable option. Biggest problem is best buy wont let you return anything after 15 days. 15 days? What a joke i never would of bought these from best buy and in the future wint be buying anything at all from there. Now im 25 days in with 2 air conditioners that are usless and one already failing. Super disappointed at Best Buy and GE for their poor quality items.

    Of all the junk they sell these days, this is the worst and I swear my last GE purchase. It was load and inefficient when it "worked" the first year. Total cooling failure the 2nd season.

    This doesn’t even cool my daughters nursery which is barely 100 square feet. I’ve been running it for 3 days and I set it as low as it can go (64) and it’s 72 outside right now and still can’t get to below 69 in the room, so that just shows you how bad it is. It has styrofoam and lets light in. Don’t bother with this terrible air conditioner.

    HORRIBLE. Do not waste your money. You could sneeze more cold air than this unit. The motor is so weak. Total waste of money. I couldn’t get this thing returned fast enough.

    This air conditioner does not get cool at all, its very small and cant make a 4 by 4 room cold even if you left it on for a month. DO NOT PURCHASE.

    Do not buy this AC unit. We purchased ours on 6/6/21 and it stopped working by labor day weekend. Now I have to spend hours tracking down GE for service which I'm sure they won't cover under the supposed one-year warranty.

    Beware of the physical integrity (damage)

    The machine was dented as it appeared dropped, some of the fins were bent on the rear of the machine. And my electric bill increased by $30.00 per month now. Oh and there was no fin guard.

      Hello there. We hate to hear about the issues you're experiencing with your new air conditioner. Having problems with such an essential appliance isn't ideal, and we're so sorry for the stress that this has caused. If your room air conditioner is not cooling properly, there are a few things you can investigate. Please make sure that the air conditioner is properly sized for the room and that nothing is blocking the front of the air conditioner.

      Consider the temperature of the room when the air conditioner was first turned on. If the room was very hot, it will take longer to cool the room because of heat that's stored up in walls, furniture, rugs, and draperies. Whenever possible, turn the air conditioner on before the room heats up to prevent this. We hope that this information is helpful. -Arnesha@GEA GE_Appliances
