I bought this at the worst time, middle of summer and air conditioners were hard to find any where! It was so hot in my apartment I bought the only one I could find at the time, not my first, second, or third choice. I installed it myself (62 yrs old and not in great shape). It was pretty heavy for me (and I hurt all the next day). It fit fine in my bedroom window. I did need to put a piece of wood (2-3 inches thick?) between the air conditioner and the sill. I was able to drill holes in the metal window in order to secure it. The person who reviewed this and said it sounds like a lawnmower was not kidding! This thing is loud and I had to use ear plugs in order to sleep. I did not set it on the power saving mode because I wanted the fan to run continuously. That doesn't happen. The compressor and fan go on and off together. It seems to have trouble maintaining a constant temperature. My room is maybe 15 x 15? Not sure. Honestly, I wanted to return it. But I'm too old to be lugging air conditioners around. As it was, I had to use a hand truck to get it in my apartment. And it stank like it had been sitting in a moldy warehouse. Fortunately, with the help of air fresheners and time the smell went away. It does cool my room but it makes a lot of racket, cycles on and off a lot and I constantly have to change the temperature setting to achieve a comfortable temp. I will never buy another GE air conditioner.

We use these for small apartments. At the price it’s cheaper to replace than to repair. Haven’t had any trouble to date.

Bought it in very hot week. Price was higher than it supposed to be. Not too loud but cool enough for 100 square feet.

Works great, no issues after 2 months in 107 degree record breaking heat in Austin. Easy to install took one hour.

Cools nice and doesn’t look ugly. Only downside is it mainly shoots air straight ahead so you have to set it up in the perfect position for it to cool a room properly.

We enjoy it. It's a bit creaky and loud. I wish there was a timer on it. Remote control is great.

Good AC, it cools the room as is suppposed to do, it is a little confusing in its controls, it works really well with not too much noise at all, perfect for a little room, easily one of the best AC I have purchased.

Great smaller air conditioner. SQ foot upstairs is 700. Does a good job of cooling down. Not too noisy. I do have to use a fan to blow cold air out if the bedroom to the rest of upstairs. But worth the money !

This window unit is hands down the best one we’ve bought over the past 7 years. We have been buying a new one every 12 to18 months because we live in the south and it runs non stop at the highest fan speed and the coldest setting for nine to ten months out of the year. This one has been great at keeping the temperature at 64 degrees while my husband and I are sleeping. We both must have the temperature as low as possible when we are sleeping.

Great unit for the price. Cools down our bedroom and bathroom easily. very easy to install.

This little GE 6000 btu AC is a workhorse. It cools down my small studio apt. in around 5 minutes. It's not most quietest AC unit I've ever had, not nosiest either. I'm happy with it. I recommend this GE 6000 btu AC.

Suits our needs. Keeps the temps down to keep our equipment safe. Noisy but where it’s located not material

I purchased this to replace a much older unit. It does a great job of keeping my man cave cool and comfortable. I especially like the remote control.

This ac does what is needed. It gets cool but it can be a little louder than my liking. Other than the sound it works great and cools my huge bedroom.

This is the perfect size for our spare room. It is quiet and the remote control is very easy to use.

Perfectly cools our small bedroom. The eco mode is useful when it is not too hot outside. It is a bit loud but at this price point, I could not argue.
