We have narrow windows and this is the most powerful unit that Best Buy had in stock that would fit. It is a little noisy, but we use it to keep the kitchen cool which then helps keep the house cooler.

The air conditioner is not very noisy and cools the room quickly.

This air conditioner cools our room in only 2-3 minutes. It works so fast and effectively. I love that it has a remote for easy turn on/off.

This definitely cools my room but it is still too noisy. It sounds like there is a piece of paper wrapped around the fan. I prefer a quiet AC. It does work well though. You do have to remember to change the mode to cool as soon as you turn it on or else it stays on Eco setting.

The AC works perfectly well. It's strong enough to cool down a decent sized room. My only complaint is that the filter is difficult to remove and replace. It is difficult to pull out and when inserting it back into the AC you have to be careful that it hits the grooves just right or it will bend inside the unit and head towards the inner mechanisms.

It is an effective air cooling machine and it isn't overly loud, but it will produce a white noise ambience.

Great air conditioner for a small room, keep me cold in a hot day

Purchased this at the end of May 2020. Immediately noticed the thermostat was acting strange, sometimes the temperature would drop very quickly from room temp to 5 degrees cooler than the room, then the unit would stay off for an hour while room temp skyrocketed. Planned to return it but wasn't sure if the room was too big and was moving in a month, gave it chance at the new place, I regret that decision. Worked well for the remainder of the season (in a larger room than before), then worked well again for the first 2 months of this season. About a week ago the thermostat started reading down in the 40s and 50s once in a while and it seemingly stopped cooling even after the thermostat went back to 80. I noticed the coils behind the filter were icing up. Removed the unit from the window, let it thaw for 24 hours outside and then put it back. Woke up this morning to an extremely hot house, checked the unit and it was iced up again. GE support says this is because the unit is set too cold (set to 70), outdoor temps are too low (don't operate below 70 Outside Air Temp), there is insufficient airflow (set the fan to high) or the unit is not rated for this size room (use another unit). I have found no way to contact support to discuss my issue aside from reading their FAQ. My final step was to add another 8000 BTU unit in the adjoining room to see if that would reduce the heat load on the unit and stop the icing. It changed nothing. Based on a lot of other reviews, the thermostat inconsistencies are somewhat widespread. Who knows if this caused my unit to fail, because no matter what I do now it does not cool properly and ices up. My unit failed about 2 months after 1 year warranty ended and I saw at least a few other reviews saying the same thing. I think this product is just poorly designed and not built to last. Do not expect to get multiple years out of this product.

We bought this ac for my son’s small bedroom. For over a year now it has worked very well, Zero complaints. It keeps him cool, and requires no maintenance. Other than the filter needing to be cleaned, which is very easy and straight to the point. Very happy with our purchase, and thinking of buying another one for my work shop.! Would recommend!

This is a solid, simple AC Unit purchased on a BB Deal of the Day. Average noise level. Cools our son's 10x12 ft bedroom no problem. Some reviews mentioned light coming in from back; it's true but not much more than what already shows through fins on the sides.
