Bad Loud Throbbing Noise, and Damage via Packing

Owned for 1 week when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've bought a few small brand-name window air conditioners before, and am accustomed to quirks, but this GE model AHP06LZ (SKU 6390676) unit is simply bad... This GE unit makes a loud rapid throbbing noise like would be more expected from an off-brand air conditioner sold for half the price at a grocery store. Due to the noise, there's no way I'll be able to run this when anyone is trying to sleep in the room, or maybe not even if people are trying to sleep (or think) in the next room. There's a second problem: the packing material included a rigid spacer, which dented the side and rear of the unit, even though the shipping box looked OK. It looks like the side of the box must've had a fairly modest flat impact, which I suspect would've been absorbed by the styrofoam and gap -- except this spacer transferred it to a small area, bashing in the side, including bursting the bend in the sheet metal from the side to the rear. This impact exaggerated by the spacer caused the paint to flake off around where side-to-rear corner bend was partly unbent, so I expect the unit to also to be rusting there within a month, and the rusting will be where you might put your hand when installing and removing the unit every summer.
