However, we upgraded to the yearly subscription with more features. Looking forward to the ai face recognition. There has been neglible false alerts for the settings we applied. Additionally, there was a great price for the wired version which was needed due to having cold winters. Install was easy. Needed to upgrade to a stronger doorbell transformer but not too difficult either.

The transformer (doorbell lines connect to) needed to be changed to 16vac/30va as there was not enough electrical current output causing the light on the doorbell to be yellow with no video access After, replacing, the light turned green. Everything works.

Nest has been long focused on delivering quality products to our customers, as well as giving value for the price, so we’ve included three hours of event history right out of the box for the first time ever. On-device processing also gives our customers smart alerts and Activity Zones, which historically have required a subscription. There's no fee to stream full resolution live video, receive notifications, and view video history for up to three hours in the past, as long as your doorbell is connected to the internet. So far the video and sound quality seems a lot better and it picks up a lot of activity.

We had a video doorbell that came with our security system but it wasn’t meeting all of our needs unfortunately. We turned to Google since we have our house integrated with Google compatible devices. The set up was very straightforward and the google app walks you through install with picture, videos, and written instructions. You can also call a pro if you need. This Camera was perfect for what we needed. Facial recognition, fast operating system, accessible through my app, push notifications, alerts and more. This may sound sponsored but I just believe in good products and honest reviews before I make important purchases. Hope this helps

Owned for 3 months when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I used the first gen of Google Nest doorbell for five years (2019-2024) with nest aware to save 5 days of video for $50 y. After I upgraded to this second gen I had issues with the video history and face detection. The Nest Aware subscription didn’t work with the new device. As a result. I had to change the subscription to a more expensive plan ($80), it saves just video clips, not the 24x7 video. If you like the previous version and are thinking about upgrading, I would recommend not to, or consider evaluating other door bells before buying it. Another aspect to consider is, the wired version without the 24x7 doesn’t worth. You can use a battery version to get just clips. Lastly, when someone rings the doorbell, the video delays too much to display in the Google Display or in the phone.

Posted .Hi there, FernandoR. We’re sorry your experience with the Nest doorbell wired 2nd gen) hasn’t been the best. Here’s some tips to get face detection and improve video delays:
For face detection:
1. Position your camera so it can see faces easily. Familiar face detection works best when the subject is directly approaching the camera.
2. Check the lighting around your camera. Check your camera’s view at different times during the day to make sure that there’s no glare from the sun or other light sources.
3. Review your familiar faces library on a regular basis during the first few weeks, especially after you add a new person.
Regarding video delays:
1. Your camera’s video can also be delayed by a slow network connection.
2. Try quitting the Home app or the Nest app and opening it again. If that doesn’t work, you can try restarting your phone or device you’re watching with.
3. The video can be delayed if your camera, phone, tablet or computer is connected to a Wi-Fi extender, which adds extra relay time to any device that’s using it. In this case, connect your camera directly to your Wi-Fi router to help reduce the delay.
