Terrible Experience

Was so looking forward to having a Nest thermostat but it was not meant to be. My home is only 5 years old but no one could get it to work with my system without it blowing fuses and completely disabling the heat pump. $250+ wasted on installation. Too many complications with it so I had to return the units. So much for wanting to be energy efficient. There is nothing special about my HVAC system and the professionals couldn’t even get it to work. Sorry I even tried.

We’ve only had this for a year and 2 months and it’s already quit working. Constantly says low battery and we can leave it plugged into the charger for 8 hours and it still won’t charge. All this, in the middle of the hottest days of summer. And when it’s trying to charge, the HVAC shuts off because the thermostat isn’t connected.

When I get up and go look at the Nests it says they are connected to Wi-Fi. Also see the Nest online in my route table. Their app support is what is terrible. Does this on multiple phones. Also notifications rarely work if something has happened to the HVAC. Since Google took over it has gone downhill. No or lacking QA process before they release software updates. Has potential but not until they get all their bugs figured out. Have had issues with these on and off for almost 4 years now, including the new one.

It appears to be able to save me money on my heating and air conditioning bills. I have to learn on how to set it for desired heating and air conditioning conditions. If necessary, I can contact Best Buy to to advise me
