||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.i have a working traditional thermostat, i figured i would upgrade to potentially save. i installed and it worked. then i turned it off but instead of stopping, it kept raising the temperature. then researched online to figure out settings then it got to almost 90 degrees when i called customer service and without hesitation, the guy said "it's your system that is broken". i told him that my system wasn't broken 30 mins ago before i installed nest and he said it's your heating system. offered no troubleshooting help just kept saying it's my heating system. i ripped out nest and installed back my basic thermostat and it worked instantly. worst purchase made and worst customer service

However, my personal tolerance for temperature doesn't deal well with the high and low temperatures the Nest wants to use. So, I wind up using it much more like a regular thermostat. Still saving money, but if I could adjust the highs and lows a little more to meet my comfort zone it'd be helpful.

Google makes it an awful experience to replace a defective product. I would recommend looking at other smart thermostats if you value your sanity.

Had a issue with the unit a few months after purchase but customer service was EXCELLENT!!! Sent a new unit and everything works perfectly now.

It froze the fan outside during winter. took long time to recover. Called nest customer service for installation but it was not helpful either.

Setup was easy with instructions included. Installed myself and it even works with Samsung Integrations to be controlled via Samsung Smartthings App.

Every manufacturer has is pros and cons the only thing the EcoBee 4 was missing is the snazzy build materials the Nest has. Otherwise the EcoBee is a better unit IMO.

Setup was simple since already owned a nest product.
