Adding manually does not work as the app asks for the device serial number but has nowhere to input the numbers. After researching the internet, the solution is some obscure work around and Google / Nest has ignored the problem for at least the last 2 years. I've been slowly migrating back to an Apple ecosphere after years away. This is one more reason why.

Worth the money

Read the info/reviews on this one and bought it. Had it professionally installed for $90 by the folks that service my geo-thermal unit. Worked well for four days and then stopped. Tried various approaches to no avail. Called the installers and they said that they have heard similar issues. Had them come to the house and U.N.-install the unit — another $90. Got a Honeywell unit when I replaced the geo-thermal and it works PERFECTLY!!!

I called the HVAC technician and he replaced a broken part in the outside unit which supposed to last longer. After replacing parts, the outside unit started making crank noises controlled by nest thermostat. Therefore, the technician recommended me to replace the nest thermostat as he experienced the same kind of issues with the nest thermostat in several homes. Based on his recommendation, I replaced the nest thermostat with Ecobee thermostat. Now, it's working just fine without any issues.

1. Disable learning for the temperature schedule: When Auto-Schedule or Smart Schedule is turned on, it learns from the adjustments you make to optimize your schedule. You can manually edit the existing schedule, create an entirely new one, or turn off these learning features.
2. Turn off or adjust Eco Temperature: Your Nest thermostat gives you a temperature range you can select from when you set an Eco Temperature. The Eco Temperature ranges you can choose from are: 40-70°F (4-21°C) for heating mode and 76-90°F (24-32°C) for cooling mode.
