Bought this to rave reviews. Started out being nice but it's more of a gadget than being a great thermostat. Yes it's nice being able to control via wifi on your smartphone, but I just started having way too many issues with it. Would come home and it would be 90 degrees in the house on a hot summer day. Would be blowing hot air when it should be cooling. Got to researching and numerous people were having this same issue. Called a HVAC tech and told me best use for these nest thermostats are in the trash. I tried and tied to really love this thermostat but just too many issues. I ended up going back to my old one, WITH NO ISSUES.

I live in an apartment that was built 3 years ago. The connection type that I had did not work with this unit. Had to return it after hiring somebody to have a look at it. DO YOUR RESEARCH FIRST.

More difficult to use than a basic thermostat. I can't run the fan without the unit turning on my AC. Not many custom options. Initially let down, but now that the price shock has worn off, it's not terrible. Still pretty cool to turn off or on from work.

At 1st was skeptical but now that it’s learning very nice. Wake up and go to sleep in perfect temps. Will be excited to see what summer brings.

Amazing all around. Love the Nest. This is my second Nest as I also own the Gen2. I can't go on a day without the Nest and the ease around the phone app.

Nest did a good job building out a smart thermostat. With the smart link to the Nest smoke detector. Great way to protect your home.

Purchased over Christmas sale. Paid professional air conditioning installation as we just purchased new home. Upon install they noted the turn over from cool to heat does not convert properly due to defect in unit. Called Best Buy. Since >14d since purchase (was not even unboxed until +30d after purchase) they would not refund nor replace + we paid the air conditioning company $100 service charge. Out $325 and no functional thermostat. WILL NEVER AGAIN purchase from Best Buy. Sad to say- as we carry the Best Buy visa and were prior loyal customers. No reciprocated loyalty to their buyers. We have since canceled-

Slightly difficult learning curve jumping from an old digital to a smart thermostat but once you get it down it’s not bad.

This was simple to follow the directions and set up. Although it was time consuming since I’m not a big tech person. I am only ok

We bought this about a month ago and immediately started having issues with our air conditioning. It’s like it was working really hard and the fan just didn’t work right. I don’t know the technicalities of what it was doing, but over time our A/C started freezing up. Eventually had to pay $80 for a tech to come check it out... everything was fine and the tech assumed it was a problem that stemmed from the Nest. We were out of our 14 day return policy thru Best Buy but thankfully we were 2 days away from the return policy with Nest, so we’ll be getting a refund. The Nest thermostat is neat, but it doesn’t work for everyone’s units.

Make sure to read the directions! This is needing a 5 pin thermostat wire configuration coming from the furnace/heat pump unit.

Super convenient, easy to use and wallet friendly! I love that it saves us money and basically pays for itself. Wish we would have purchased sooner!

For the price, this is a must have to start with establishing a Smart Home. After the initial setup forget it and start saving money.

So far this has been great. Still playing around with the settings yet. But it has plenty of scheduling options and you can control it from the app.

Are you ready for the next generation thermostat. Save yourself some money on heating and air-conditioning and buy the product. Highly recommended.

This unit failed in less than one year. After 5 different support requests, the Google representative has agreed to sent me a replacement unit IF I agree to let them put a hold on my credit card which seems unfair. But now they also want me to establish an email account with Gmail instead of using my existing email. It seems Google is more concerned about you using their entire suite of applications than resolving their defective unit. Buyer beware.

This Smart thermostat is indeed worth it. Don’t forget the rebates from your utility company. It practically pays for itself.
