Bought the 3rd Gen Nest device a couple of weeks back. I was pleased at the ease of use of the item and I could install it within 20 minutes. It has already learned the usage from last week, and I can change the pattern per day of the week when needed. Remote control using iphone is great and I am waiting to see if I saved any money on the electric bill next month.

Installation was simple. I love that I can change the temperature of my home before I get their. Finally, it saves me money!

Lasted one year. Nest did send replacement but it is was a refurb unit and looked like a refurb unit. I had a black one and the replacement was silver. If I wanted a silver one I would have purchased a silver one. Very disappointed that a 250 dollar thermostat only lasted a year.

Ability to control and check on the home temperature from a phone is amazing. THis is very user friendly. I installed easily within 30 minutes. I like that it comes with several options for mounting on the wall.

The Nest is the “Best” thermostat. Easy to use. Like how it lights up when i walk into the room. Like how I can use my phone to adjust the tempiture.

I love this thermostat. It has learned my schedule and sets the temperature accordingly. It is very hassle free and takes the worrying out of if you forget to turn the thermostat down when you leave for the day or go out of town. My favorite features are the auto scheduling and the ability to change my thermostat with my phone.

Excellent installation instructions. Everything you need except the tools. Looks great and easy to use. Very well designed. I'm not sure I believe all the hype about how much energy costs you save - after all it's just a programmable thermostat that happens to be capable of remote programability. Time will tell...

Beautifully designed and takes all the effort out of managing your home's heating and cooling. Pros: great design, can modify settings over the app in and outside the house, super easy setup. Cons: wish it worked with Apple HomeKit. This would tie it into the smart home ecosystem better.

Works great, easy to install. This was a replacement for existing Nest with a dead battery. (Google/Nest doesn’t tell you about the battery which only an electrical engineer can replace)

We love the Nest thermostat. We put them in all of our AirBNBs. Specifically this model is our favorite. Others are difficult to use. This one is easy to use and very intuitive. You and your guests will love it.

After 4moth internet signal stop working I reset. Still don’t work please if you buy this put insurance because nest technician support is suck they . hold me waiting for two hours

Bought the Nest about two weeks ago. Installation was easy. It all went well for about a week, then it started throwing the "E74" code - no power to Rh. I called technical support and we went through an extended (60 minutes) trouble shooting process, swapping almost every connection, to isolate the issue determine if something was wrong with my (3 month old) HVAC system... Off course everything was fine with my AC/Heating system. During troubleshooting, the Nest magically started working again. We were puzzled why it stopped working, and equally puzzled why it started working. Anyway, technical support (very nice but puzzled guy) claimed it must have been a loose connection. A day later, my wife called to say the issue had resurfaced with the Nest. So while heading back home from work, I called ahead to Nest technical support, because is does take some time to get them. Upon reaching home, with Nest now on the phone, the system began working (without us starting the troubleshooting). The tech support lady claimed there might be a small break in one of my wires, which i didn't necessarily agree with because why then would it work intermittently? The next day, while out, the dreaded E74 issue came back again and showed on my wife's phone. When we got home i got my multimeter to test the power to the wires, and everything was fine with the wires. Put the Nest back on, and it showed no power. Obviously something was wrong on the Nest end. We called Nest again and another technical support staff (sounded like he was half asleep) wanted to walk me through the same 45 minute procedure we went through the first time to try and check to see if my heating system was working or my house had a wiring issue. I asked him if he read the history; he went back, started reading, then came back wanting to do the same thing - play musical chair with the wires. I got frustrated, my two year old was getting cold, so I went back for my old thermostat (Nest tech support, did tell me not to toss it just yet)...and I reinstalled it. My heat worked immediately - and no issue with power to wires. I have had continuous heat since then. I am guessing the Nest unit was messing up - but it didnt seem as if Nest wanted to accept that this is the case; they ....OR nest has compatibility issues with heating systems that uses high efficiency variable blower speeds or staged heating (although they say it accommodate up to three stage systems. Again...its good when it worked. Maybe it needs a bit more work.

This has been a great product. It took a little longer to set up than expected (1 hour), but Nest has the best tech support of any company I have ever dealt with. They actually speak native English, you don't sit on hold forever, they know what they are talking about and they genuinely want to help and will stay on the phone until you get it figured out. Once set up it works perfectly and has revolutionized our system. I am certain the Nest paid for itself in the first year we owned it and we have had it for 3 years (yes, this review is a bit late, but better late than never!). Not a single malfunction in 3 years. When I installed a new zone board I had to reprogram but tech support was there to help again. I highly recommend this product.

The product was very easy to install and very simple to use. I have had it for a little under 4 months and it has reduced my cooling and heating bill moderately. savings about $18.00 a month.

The sensor base already had marks and the sensor in front was a bit scratched. Furthermore, the W1 connector is not responding.

This thermostat does all that it promises and after using it for almost a year, I've yet to find any negatives or downsides. The ability to program itself did not seem all that useful at first because I never programmed my old thermostat, however, the thermostat intuitively learned our family's heating/cooling habits and, through the monthly reports, motivated me to be more efficient with my heating and AC use. The ability to turn off the system remotely or turn on the AC before coming back from out of town is a valuable feature that would justify the purchase on it's own. I honestly can't imagine going back to a conventional thermostat after using this.

Replaced a 15 year old standard thermostat. Instructions from website were easy to follow plus the sticker tags for the wires made it simple to figure out where they were to be installed in the Nest thermostat. After that it was a simple snap-in of the unit and configuration with the iOS app. WiFi connection etc went without a hitch and then the auto set up of the thermostat itself was pretty straightforward by just following the prompts on the Nest screen. Been using it for several months now and our electric bill has definitely gone down!

As a huge Google fan, I'll say for the most part I'm pleased with this product. The features and app are very well thought out. This thermostat is really cool, and easy to use. Looks great, feels solid, and add cool factor to a typically dull item. My biggest complaint is how easily the screen is finley scratched. Right after installing it, I wiped it down with a clean microfiber cloth and the screen was instantly covered in micro scratches. Not something I expect from a 250 dollar thermostat. Even the cheapest cellphones on the market have corning's glass that doesn't scratch as easy as this. With it being so easy to scratch, makes me wonder how cheap this thing really is.

Easy to set up, easy to install and awesome for savings, this thermostat has revolutionized the way how we operate the house temperature, it learns what you like and you like it, you can controlled from anywhere and anytime. You can set up temp. With time in advance and comeback to your house with the temp you always wanted to live with, I also added the 3 sensor package, with made it even much smarter.
