I live in the desert, and that means that the AC runs for 9 months of the year. Being able to control my thermostat from my phone means no more turning around half way to work to turn the AC off because I forgot as I was leaving the house. The learning feature is pretty self explanatory, it learns your habits and after a few weeks it's actually pretty acurate. Don't be fooled by the steep price tag (steep considering it's a thermostat) it pays for itself in a few months. Several of my fiends have them and one said it paid off in two months, another said it took about 6 months. But the view is unanimous: it saves money immediately, and even more over the long run.

Like I said in the title the biggest selling point for me was that I don't have to go to the thermostat to change the temperature. It's been a pretty seamless experience. quite happy.

Great functioning thermostat that will adapt to your setting habits over time to save you energy in the long run. Very easy to use and easy to set up. Looks great on my wall!

This was super easy to install and we are already loving that we can control the temps via the app(which was also easy to download and utilize). Our previous programmable thermostat only let us program temps by the whole week and weekends. We love that this has the flexibility of programming each day, individually. As stated, I also like the remote access. This will be great for vacations - we can turn it off or very low but still have it at a good temp before walking back in the door. Finally I like that it tells you the outside temp and that it lets you know the temp at which you get the most energy efficiency. Looking forward to the added savings.

I bought this one (and the basic/less expensive one) for my new house which had old thermostats. I've previously used the more basic google nest which didn't require having to have a separate nest app to install. This more expensive one isn't bad. Overall, I believe these smart thermostats are better than the old school ones. The reason I have this one is it was the last one on the shelf, in addition to the cheaper one. I prefer the cheaper one since you can install and use it straight from the google home app. This one you have to get the separate "nest" app, then connect it to your google home app. THEN you can use it from you google home app. Overall, at the end of the day, this has already saved me on my electric bill. My older thermostat just wasn't calibrated correctly, which resulted in the system constantly blowing heat into the house. Installing this I can already see it will pay for itself in a months' time, given the energy consumption of the previous thermostat. If you have some old thermostat, I'd highly suggest these smart thermostats since they have better sensors for determining the temperature, and ease of use from your phone. AND, they could save you alot of money on your electricity bill each month like in my case.

The Nest thermostat was my first foray into the smart home a few years ago. This is a great product that's simple to use. The best thing is the fact that you can control the temperature from your phone or by using Google Home or Alexa. No longer do I have to get up from my couch while watching TV to go to the other room and change the thermostat, I can just tell Google to do it! Other than that, the thermostat also learns your routines so it becomes smart about when to turn on or off. Definitely, a worthwhile investment, especially if your energy company has rebates on it!

I originally bought a Honeywell with color display by could not install due to my system not having a "C" wire. This one installed I just about 10 minutes. Works great!

This device is easy to install, easy to operate, and has a great app interface. I've tried other thermostats, and none compare to the ease nad slick look of the Nest.

This thermostat has been amazing so far. Like other Google products, setup was super simple, which is a huge plus when you’re not that tech savvy. I’ve been extremely pleased with the “learning” capabilities as well. Would definitely recommend!

I love, love my Nest. Easy to install and being programmable it has saved on my electric bill. I especially love that I can from anywhere monitor my home.

I love it. It was super easy to install. I did it in 30 mins, and it would have taken less had I not had a faulty wire at home. At any rate, it was super easy. It's so convenient when I wake up in the middle of the night and it's too warm so I just roll over, grab my cell phone, and turn the heat down. I also love auto away and the self learning features.

Purchased this Nest Thermostat to replace an aging not-working-well programmable thermostat. Plus the $50 gift card incentive helped with the decision. This is a great product and am very satisfied with it. Can check the thermostat from my phone and make sure the family turned it down or set it to away when they left, and I can turn it back up when they are set to return or come home from school. I know it will "learn" our habits eventually but I've only had it installed for 2 days so haven't experienced that aspect of it yet.

Love it. I love the heat cool function designed to be intelligent and once temps are set for hot and cold the system will work within the parameters I set up which makes it easy during the spring and fall months where it’s hot during the day but cold in evening.

This device works very well. I can see it has several levels of operation that makes it increasingly efficient for homeowners of various levels of expertise. Good Product!

This thermostat was very easy to install and is very user friendly!! It also does everything i could every want it to!!

This thermostat looks nice, better than any other thermostat. The installation and general setup is OK, it takes about about 30 minutes if all wiring is there. It also easily integrates with Samsung SmartThings v2. But the functionality is not as advanced as for instance Ecobee's. The occupancy sensor in Nest thermostat is pretty much useless. I was home moving around, and the Nest thermostat would switch to Away state thinking that there is noone home. The remote sensor that came with it does not have an occupancy detection, so all you can count on for occupancy detection is really the smartphones of the people that live in the house, which is not a really nice way of detecting home occupancy. If you have multiple sensors in the house you only can pick one at the time to regulate on its measure temperature, there is no possibility of averaging in this thermostat. Also, the history view is really poor for Nest, Ecobee did a much better job on this. And if you download the history data from the website, the status data is in JSON format and it is impossible to interpret. Also, the deadbands are not adjustable for Nest, at least I could not find it. I did not try its learning feature myself since it already had a lot of negative comments. So, I think if one wants to buy a nice stylish looking thermostat for a very basic use, Nest Learning Thermostat is a very good choice. But if one wants a highly customizable thermostat which one can also regularly monitor and adjust, then there are better choices , like Ecobee.
