I love this thing and its energy saving possibilities! It knows when the home is empty and adjusts when were on our way home! Has definitely saved me a ton of money on heating and cooling. Proved when I compared the bills to past years as well. Super helpful you won’t regret it. You dont really need the pro model unless you have smart ducts or multiple compressors for separate level cooling.

Really easy to install. Only reason to get it though is to cover up holes/mis matched paint from previous thermostat. I realized when I upgraded my nest was much smaller and previous owners didn’t paint underneath the old thermostat leaving a different color. This is very quick to install makes, makes your thermostat stand out in a good way, and avoids a lot of hassle fixing what it covers up.

I didn't get this at first, and then when I went to install my Nest on my 1940 house's old plaster walls, and discovered the previous thermostat was barely covering a gaping, crumbing hole, I realized my error. This was a lifesaver! And it looks sleek and elegant. Definitely recommend, especially for vintage houses and scarred walls.
