I recently tried out the Google Nest WiFi Battery, and I’d give it about 3.8 stars. The overall quality is good—setup was straightforward and the battery performs well under normal conditions. However, one downside is that it dies noticeably faster in winter, which can be a pain if you live in colder areas. If you have the option, you might be better off with the wired version for more reliable performance in all seasons.

Great option for our house since the walls are brick inside and out. Video is good, connection is good over fiber. Bettery life is pretty decent. We get about 4 weeks out of ours depending on how many visitors we get. Only issue is the first one we purchased only lasted 2 years. Yes it's outside but it is under a covered porch. I would expect a bit mroe life.

So far so good. The video quality is good, the notification speed is good, but the battery life is questionable. There are settings to help w/ battery longevity but so far Ive only managed to get 3 weeks before I have to recharge. That is a far cry from what is promoted. Now I do live on a street w/ a lot of foot traffic so that certainly contributed to the hit on the battery. I’ve adjusted my zones and will see how that improves the battery. This is a new product from Google so I’m sure software updates will be sent out possibly to help w/ the batter. TBD.

I recently purchased the Nest Doorbell for security reasons. My wife and I love in the country and it's nice to be able to see who, if anyone, walks by our cars, our shed, or comes to the door. I went with the Nest above others after doing some research and finding that it actually has a rolling 3 hour record time for free. Others, you have to pay for a subscription to be able to save any footage. It's very sensitive on it's pick up and will tell you if a person has been at your door and even if that person is carrying a package. It sends a notification directly to your phone, with a short video clip of the person. One of the best parts, it's easy to setup and install. I recommend the Nest over others like it, for it's price and features.

Video quality is excellent but battery quality is not. I’ve had this doorbell for almost 2 years now and 7 months in I had to receive a replacement due to battery lasting only a couple days with no package, person, motion alerts. I tried to charge the battery at least 3 times but each time it lasted a couple days before receiving an alert to recharge. I’m now on the phone with Google support as this battery issue is happening again 1 year later. I live in the Midwest so I’m going to assume the battery life is associated with hot temperatures outside. I will be looking into a different doorbell and trashing this one.
Hey there, KCCC. We’re sorry to hear you’ve had problems with keeping your Nest Doorbell (Battery) charged. Battery life can be impacted over time by activity, temperature, and selected camera settings. If you prefer and are able to, you can install the doorbell directly into your system to keep it charged.

The device is great. Stylish and robust, it's a good design. A couple of things I didn't like:
The viewing angle is limited, with the vertical view being greater than the horizontal view. Here, the Ring doorbell wins, it’s has a longer range.
I would have preferred the device to be operated from the Nest app, as the Google home app is very cluttered.
The battery lasted me about a month. Recharging it took over 3 hours.
The other problem is that the notifications on the Apple Watch does not work as it should. It tries to show a picture, but you don't see anything, in contrast with the Nest or Ring notifications.
In conclusion, I liked the doorbell because it is easy to install, does not need wires and does its job. I don't like the app, but I'm hopeful that Google will fix those issues in the future.

Exactly what I wanted, however the battery life is shorter than expected. Interfaces very well with Google Home. I can see the door area remotely using smartphone App. Automatically saves the past three hours of events. You can also externally save the events. Installation is easy, but you need extra hardware to really secure it on the door frame.

It was basically the doorbell I was looking for. I tried another brand but it was so slow notifying me they were gone before I got connected. I also don’t want a monthly fee so I have 3 hours from when an event occurs to save the video. Not ideal but but better than a monthly fee. Would have been 5 stars except for that. It works with my existing chime indoors and notifies me on my google speakers in the house when the doorbell is activated. Video is good too

This camera has fantastic quality, as to all of the Google cameras that we have experienced. This has massively easy installation, what I consider to be quite a good battery life, a wide range of view, excellent video quality, and great features. Everyone that I have shown this camera too compliments the quality of the footage and how clear it is and the wide range of view. Plus it integrates seamlessly with all of our other Google home devices which we love.

Works get, I travel for work a lot and just like to see what’s going on while I’m away. I enjoy the simplicity of use and how well it sync’s up with my other google devices. The battery life on this thing is solid, since I live in an apartment complex I don’t get a doorbell but this paired with the no drill mount has taken care of that issue. The night vision camera is great and when people ring the doorbell my nest hub and Google mini let me know if a friend or someone I don’t know is at the door. I say all this to say , if you are looking for an inexpensive way to monitor your home you really can’t got wrong with this doorbell very great bang for your buck purchase.

Decent option but leaves us wanting more. We replaced an old Nest doorbell that had stopped working. I wanted the wired version but the store only had the battery option in stock.
Biggest frustration is the historical recordings. We already pay Google for 5 days of history but that doesn’t apply to this product. Why?! We only get past 3 hours of history with this, pretty disappointing.
Hi there, Greg. Sorry to see the Nest Doorbell (Battery) wasn’t quite what you were expecting. If you’re subscribed to Google Home Premium you should be getting those benefits. We’d be happy to look into this matter for you and make sure everything is running smoothly. When you get a second, talk to us here: https://support.google.com/googlenest/gethelp

I was reluctant to have a door camera but it has proven itself useful every day since it was installed. Camera and sound quality are mush better than I expected.

Doorbell Cam was easy to install. It works with the google home app, which is easy to install as well if you don't have it already. The camera is good quality and clear images. Sight area is pretty wide & does have some adjustment capability. Overall, great product for the price.

This is a great addition to the Google Nest products. I had broken the wiring on my backdoor doorbell so I couldn't use a wired doorbell. I have a wired Google Nest front doorbell which I love so I got this one when they came out with the battery powered doorbell. I love it too. It just sends me a notification if it sees someone out there, you can even set it for pets. I have neighbor dogs that like to come and play so that is cool too. It lets you know if the person has a package as well. It is super easy to install and has great instructions. It connected to my existing Home app so easily. It looks nice, has a great picture and the battery stays charged for months.

I really like the wireless feature. I dont like that it has to be recharged so frequently and we dont have a lot of foot traffic in front of it. It doesnt even last a month. I wish it was possible to easily make it wired.
It does have great quality pictures and sound. I would recommend only if wired.
