After tweaking it a little bit without adding ram i got 300 fps looking up in a creative map. It has really good graohics if you optimize stuff like the nvidia control panel if you want even more fps i would recommend buying more ram. But right now i run about 120-160 fps in game with it capped l. I definitely recommend this laptop if you were looking to stream while playing your going to need to upgrade the ram first. Overall great laptop I see myself using this for a few years.

This is a great gaming laptop if you're looking for the following:
- Considering the top-of-the-line gaming laptops are $1400+, this is a great budget option of midrange specs (especially if you can get this item on sale).
- You are looking to play games that are older than a year, or do not require intensive graphics. I like the Star Wars universe and recent games run well on mid-high graphics settings.
- You want to play a couple of game titles casually with your friends. Competitive... this depends what games you're looking at. Most of the popular online skirmish/battle royale games run fine.
- You want to ensure having access to games that require Nvidia Geforce graphics. I bought an Intel graphics-based computer in the past and it became an issue when it turns out D4 would not run at all. Granted, that computer was not intended for gaming.
- You want a laptop with acceptable, business-professional aesthetics. Many other gaming laptop designs are not something to bring into the office if attempting to maintain a professional business image. This one has a sleek, clean look where only those who know the Victus line as a gaming laptop will know. Other than that, it will pass as a laptop with some power. This point only matters if your workplace has certain expectations of your professional appearance.
If any of the above points apply to you, then this laptop checks out as a great option.
Now, onto some things to be aware about:
FAN NOISE: Graphic-intensive games will get the fan running loud. If you have headphones on, you naturally won't hear it. The fan sucks air from the bottom and blows it out the back.
CPU TEMPERATURE: According to the OMEN Gaming Hub (preinstalled by HP), the CPU temperature peaked at 185 degrees Fahrenheit at 100%. For reference, this was while playing Call of Duty: Black Ops - Cold War (released 2020) with several graphic settings on high (not max/"ultra").
RAM: I upgraded my RAM to 32gb DDR4 3200 MHz.
STORAGE: If you plan to play more than 5 recent titles, either upgrade your SSD, or uninstall the completed game and make space to install the next game. I manually upgraded my SSD to a Samsung 990 Pro, also purchased from Best Buy.
Overall, my gaming sessions are about 1-2 hours each, and not daily. As such, this game is very suitable for midrange gaming needs and can handle some higher-intensive games.

Honestly, I bought it more for how it looks and I loved the design. I knew it was a modest processor for games, but I was surprised by the performance since between the video card and the disk, it runs demanding games. Yes, I increased the RAM and I will put more, but apart from its excellent presentation, the keyboard is super smooth, it is the best average machine for work, games, design and content creation.

This HP Victus 15.6" gaming laptop is an absolute powerhouse for the price. The 144Hz Full HD display is super smooth and makes a huge difference in both gaming and everyday use — everything looks fluid and responsive. The Intel Core i5 combined with the RTX 3050 graphics card handles modern games like a champ, especially on medium to high settings.
Boot times and load speeds are lightning fast thanks to the 512GB SSD, and the 8GB of memory is enough for most tasks, though I may upgrade in the future for even better multitasking. Build quality is solid, and the Mica Silver finish gives it a sleek, premium look.
Whether you're a casual gamer, student, or someone looking for a strong all-around laptop, this one delivers great performance without breaking the bank. Highly recommend it!

This laptop is great for the price. My old computer struggled to run graphically intense games, and this one just breezes through them. My few issues with this laptop are that it's battery life isn't great (but what can you expect from a gaming laptop), that it doesn't charge with usb-c but this issue isn't too bad, and that it only has 8gb of ram, but I upgraded this for only about $80.

Great graphics. Looks great didnt have the memory i wanted so i upgraded that to 1tb. Unfortunately it only has 1 slot for the internal ssd card. So had to re install the windows OS. The battery doesnt last long with the settings i have on it. Other than that its fast and a good option for a budget gaming laptop

give me a neutral one paragraph product review of the HP Victus 15.6 with the i5 and 3050 gpu
The HP Victus 15.6 with an Intel Core i5 processor and NVIDIA RTX 3050 GPU generally offers a solid entry-level gaming experience, capably running many modern titles at 1080p on medium to high settings with its 144Hz display, though the screen's brightness and color accuracy can be limiting. While its all-plastic build might exhibit some flex and battery life is typical for a budget gaming laptop (requiring it to be plugged in for extended gaming), it provides good value for its performance and typically maintains reasonable thermals.

I got this laptop during a Deal of the Day about 2 weeks ago. It was at $599 but I got an open box at $508. First thing I did was buy 32gb of Ram and a 2tb NVME drive. Installing the drive and ram was pretty straight forward. I was surprised that the laptop had 2 NVME slots.
I was debating between a handheld gaming pc or a gaming laptop. I do light gaming and also use slicing software for my 3D printer. I have to say, I am not disappointed at all with the Victus laptop.
I have been playing the Gears of War beta and it looks great. I am getting over 100 fps. One thing I noticed when I have the system metrics going is that GoW Beta makes the CPU run at 100%, same with CoD and any graphic intensive game. I think the i5 processor is likely the culprit but the thermals stay in a good range. Don't get me wrong, you can hear the fans when they go on high but I can also hear my wall AC so it's not a big problem.
I seriously wanted to splurge on the Asus G14 or G16 but did not want to spend all that money, especially since I didn't need all that power. The screen isn't something to brag about but it gets bright enough and I honestly keep my laptop connected to an external 2k monitor so its a none-issue for me.
The HP Omen software is pretty good in that it lets you tweak your games using their AI to switch the game to the beset display settings but outside of enabling the metrics, I rarely use it
I think if you can find this laptop at $500 or below, it is a great buy, just get more ram.

The laptop has a very nice design. It’s an entry-level gaming computer. Overall, you can play most games. I play games like GTA 5, and it runs smoothly with high FPS. The only downside is that it has 8GB of RAM, which is a bit disappointing. 7/10.

Absolutely love this laptop. The performance is smooth, fast, and perfect for playing The Sims (and other games too). Load times are quick, and the graphics look amazing with the RTX 3050. The 144Hz display is a major upgrade—it makes everything feel more responsive. The only minor downside is the fan can get a bit loud after a few hours of play, but honestly, I barely notice it when I’m deep in gameplay. Great value for the price and perfect for casual to moderate gamers.

Pretty awesome computer! The graphics card is a bit deceptive on the product listing as I did no realize that the laptop and desktop gpus both have the same name but are different depending on what hardware their bundled with so I thought I was getting a laptop with a bit more power but no matter this laptop has still proved to be an awesome purchase and I really like it. I use it as a backup work computer and a gaming laptop for indie games and older games, oh and also mods and it works really great for that. Overall, super happy with this purchase

The HP Victus 15.6" Gaming Laptop in Performance Blue strikes a balance between affordability and performance, making it an enticing option for gamers seeking a capable machine without breaking the bank. With its Intel Core i5 processor and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 graphics card, the laptop delivers smooth gameplay and impressive visuals, especially with the 144Hz Full HD display. The 8GB memory and 512GB SSD provide sufficient storage and responsiveness, ensuring swift loading times for games and applications. The design, featuring the eye-catching Performance Blue color, adds a touch of style to the gaming experience, distinguishing it from other laptops in its price range.
While the HP Victus excels in performance and value, it does have some limitations to consider. The 8GB memory may feel constrained for more demanding multitasking or future-proofing, and users might consider upgrading it for optimal performance. Additionally, while the RTX 3050 provides solid gaming performance for most titles, it may struggle with the most graphically intensive games at higher settings. Overall, the HP Victus 15.6" Gaming Laptop offers excellent value for casual and mid-range gamers, with its balance of performance, affordability, and stylish design making it a compelling choice in the competitive gaming laptop market.

Purchased at 529 and it far exceeded my expectations. This machine comes with 1 open RAM slot and 1 open NVME slot, so i got a Crucial 32GB DDR4 3200Mhz kit (2x 16GB) and a Team Group 2TB NVME SSD and this thing is a workhorse for my needs.
I really appreciate the muted 'Gamer' theme as the keyboard is backlit in white and the whole appearance is very mature with minimal branding.
13th Gen i5 works well for my needs, and 6GB of dedicated RTX 3050 horsepower is very reliable. I currently use it for esports titles which all get 100+FPS maxed out, RTS titles, and indie games.
If you are realistic about your needs, I think this a great purchase.
At the time of this review this machine is even lower priced at 499, making it a steal. Add some RAM and a 2nd SSD!

I would recommend this item if you just want to play small, cozy games. It also always needs to be on the charger, or it will die. But the graphics were good, and it runs smoothly. I mostly played Roblox, Sims 4, and Minecraft on it.

Not a super powerful gaming system, but plays all the games I want to without issues. 8GB memory is a bit short, so I upped it to 32GB and it runs great now. All I want to do is bump up the storage a bit and this should last me a while. The laptop is made of plastic and gets a bad reputation for the hinges breaking, but one month in and mine is in good shape. Just open gently from the center and you should have no problems.

I am enjoying my new gaming laptop. It's a great size, 15.6 in. It travels well with the SSD drive, is sturdy, and features backlit keys, which is a must when traveling. The graphics look great, and I am happy with my purchase.
