I have an old hard drive that I took out of my laptop, it wouldn't fit in to the new case

Simple, bare-bones enclosure that houses and connects with ease.

My motherboard blew up on an old laptop. Had all my schoolwork on it. Instead of having the Geek Squad pull everything (for about $100), I purchased this hard drive enclosure (and a new computer the next day) and had everything I needed.

Not a good quality price wise high. It did not worked out for me I am thinking to return the product

My daughter killed her old laptop and needed to transfer files to the new one. The USB transfer cable that connected the old hard drive to the computer was more expensive than this enclosure. So I got the enclosure to copy the files and as a bonus we now have a portable hard drive.

Excellent case for your backup hard drive. 1 cord hookup is nice.

Only thing I wish it had was a little more cushion to support the hard drive better.

Nice enclose for my old notebook drive. Easy to install and use.

The case itself is built ok. The mounting however for the HDD to the case internally isn't the best.

This thing is hot garbage... It's complete junk, it's got wretchedly soldered components and can't power an SSD without either getting to hot or just blinking out and wiping the drive. Using it for a PlayStation 5 and it's blinked out and wiped the drive 3 times (which is a Samsung EvO drive that works in anything else in install it into.). Save yourself time and money....don't waste it on Insignia trash....its not even good enough to classify as 3rd world garbage....

If you have what was an internal hard drive at one time, and wish to be able to use the data and files on another machine this Hard Drive Enclosure makes it possible to remove that old hard drive, install it easily in the Insignia Enclose and gain additional hard drive space.

It works, but will cause interference when used with a ps4. I believ the cable is poorly insulated. Moving it further away helps slightly.

The hard drive enclosure works well and is easy to set up.

I used this to pop my hard drive out of a dying Macbook Pro and override a few pieces that weren't working by accessing the drive externally. The ATA drive worked great, I salvaged everything, and then ordered an open-box Macbook Air 11" from Best Buy at an excellent price.

The products pretty awesome, I had an old hard drive with some information on it that I wanted to transfer to my new laptop, but my old laptop was broken. All I had to do was follow the super simple instructions and I had an external hard drive that transferred at ridiculously high speeds.

The sales associate mentioned this to me after I upgraded the hard drive in my new laptop as an option to house the old one. It worked out great because this has turned into a 1 terabyte external hard drive that I use to back up my laptop. They even assembled it for me.

My laptop's motherboard died and I didn't want to pay Geek Squad to transfer my old hard drive data to the new laptop. Our Best Buy salesman said this was the product to buy to transfer data to my new laptop. It was so easy to do the work myself and now I use it as an external hard drive.
