This Insignia Docking Station saved me $1000! My computer crashed and my tech guy couldn't recover my files. This purchase was a last ditch effort to access the damaged drive before I mailed it to a specialty service that would have charged $1000+. This docking station worked like a charm!!!

I am converting from my 12 year old desktop to a new much more powerful laptop. As such I had a couple of 3.5 inch sata drives I wanted to have easy access to from the laptop. This fit the bill perfectly and recommend. I don't swap out the drives much but Windows picks them up easily when I do. Just press the "eject" button for the drive you want to remove and out it comes. Windows 10 also shows the drives as removable. Also I tried using a 2.5 inch sata SSD and it was picked up easily. In testing speed for this drive I basically got the same from docking station or USB 3.0 direct connection. No real issues except it does need to be plugged into AC for power and no feedback when docking a drive - no "click", etc. Overall this is exactly what I was looking for. I recommend as an easy solution whether you are wanting to expand your space or use to copy/make backups of system drives.

works just like it should - YES - works with Windows 11. i used it to recover the data on 2 drives that a competing external drive damaged the file structure for unknown reasons relabelling the disks as RAW.

This little beauty is a LIFE SAVER! I was able to transfer all my necessary data and media from my old hard drive directly to my new laptop with ease! Works great with desktop hard-drive as well! THANKS BEST BUY!!!

Works perfectly for wiping old drives. Simple and easy to use.

Very nice product. I was able to clone a drive using this and it worked perfectly! Its also great for formatting or wiping drives as well! Works with 3.5 inch drives or 2.5 inch drives. Its a great portable tool to grab on the way to a client location too. I like the fact that it has an on off switch on the back of the unit too so you can safely disconnect drives. One thing to be aware of, it does have a little bit of play when you connect the drives so if you get one just be sure that the drives are seated straight and snug. Also , even though it resembles a two slice toaster the drives will not 'pop' out when they are done toasting. You have to push the button to pop them out!

This unit is what I needed to get old photos and documents from my old hard drives!!! This pictures are great!

Revived my hdd storage, now I can use them in my laptop

It's a great product does what it claims, however I seem to have an issue with one of the software programs I use, Minitool Partition Wizard. Whenever the station is on and I try to load the minitool software the program hangs. When I turn the station off the program completes the upload. I then turn the station on, the drives are read by the minitool program. I also use EaseUs Partition Master and I don't have any problems at all. Both programs are free and I am using two Seagate 500GB Momentus drives I remove from a GOFLEX and a Slim Portable cases.

I used to have the old 2.0 one that only did single drives. This 3.0 allows me to transfer hard drives in under 30 minutes. Used to take me hours before. This thing is highly recommended !!

I bought this item for work only used it once quality seems pretty good it’s plastic, so I’m not sure how good of quality can actually get with that but it’s light very easy to use. Found no issues with this product.

Great Little Toaster, used it to clone many commercial drives along with data transfer of personal drives. USB 3.0, AC adapter 2 prong power.

It works very well; I have quite a few Hard Drives and it helps move things around from on drive to another very easily. It is a bit thinner than I would like but it works very well for the money.

My home office online data storage has grown to 30TB. This docking station gave me a way to analyze and salvage data from a box full of retired drives from old machines and to have removable drives for backups of my C:\Data\* directory from my laptop. By adding a USB docking strip I can also mount several USB external drives for storage of various data collections such as scanned and digital pictures, ripped digital music, and a digital billing statement and financial data archive with data as much as 80 years old.

I love these things, and the insignia brand is the only one they had in stock. Seems as good as any of the couple dozen of these I have bought in the past. They all break after a while, not sure why, but none have ever lasted long, and I have literally used several dozen over the years. May Insignia will prove to be longer lasting than the rest, and maybe this is the last one I'll ever buy? I hope so.

It was exactly what I needed. I have a bunch of hard drives I wanted to get data off of but didn't wanna keep opening up my tower. This made it a lot easier

I purchased this along with an SSD in order to speed my laptop up. After setting everything up, I moved my OS and all files to the SSD. It took some time, but overall it did everything I needed it to.
