Not compatible with Kindle or iOS products. Wish I would’ve know that prior to purchasing it, but works well enough with my son’s Samsung phone.

Had high hopes that this would allow for short distance sharing of spread sheets and pdf booklets. After hooking up and connecting the connectivity/reliability was terrible on simple Excel spreadsheets. Distance is 10-12 feet. Have unplugged several times with no improvements. Additionally the manufacturer has no upgrades to firmware to address the shortcomings. Save your money.

This iOgear wireless screensaver unit is very simple product. It's basically plugging in HDMI cords into the tv and the unit, hit the Windows+P and that pretty much runs miracast. No software is required and all the software used is native in Windows. This is great and also not so great because if your machines have no special settings and your computer is just a simple PC you are golden. However, if you constantly run into driver issues, especially on laptops running Windows 10, you need to be more tech savvy when it comes to installing this. This is why I give it a 4 star review. There is no software to troubleshoot in case the picture being cast overscans. You need to first check your monitor or TV you use to see if overscan is on or off. Make sure it is off. There is no work around or software or error message indicating what to do in respect to this and I was ready to chalk it up to machines not being compatible with each other. However, this was not the case. It turned out one of the two monitors had the incorrect resolution from the get go and I had to troubleshoot that first in case the resolution issue was ever an issue when it came to casting. I don't really believe so, but the monitor needed to be fixed to it's native resolution anyways. After that, I was able to go to the monitor and play with the settings to make the image fit using the settings on the monitor itself and to turn off the overscan setting in the display setting. When that was over and done, I did the cast using the different settings to see which would make most sense when doing presentations. I decided that duplicating the display will be good enough if casting to a big screen rather than extending it, which makes the presentation display another screen, which will be confusing. Now using the embedded software to operate the casting to this unit was easy and has a 5 second delay when casting. When it has been connected, there is little to no lag at the 10 feet mark from laptop that is docked on a desk. This is a great unit for a plug and play and if you are savvy enough to troubleshoot any issues you have yourself, then I can recommend this. For the novice, there are other devices that may work that is driven off third party software.
