totally unreliable and unusable junk. Would simply not stay connected for more than a minute or two before needing to be rebooted. Tried it with more than on laptop source.

This wasn’t exactly what I was looking for. I thought it would extend my laptop screen but it really was just a mirror, which you can do from your iPhone to a smart tv anyway.

Item is in my vehicle to be returned. It renders cell phone completely inoperable. TV does not continue progrsm U were watching if Ur phone rings or U get a pop-up notification. Just not what I thought it would be. Instead of letting me watch TV while app is still running on my phone, it jumps to whatever pops up on my phone screen. If U like to listen to TV while doing something elae, it is not possible with this device.

So this is very good for streaming your device to your tv if you have a windows or Android device. It is not compatible with Apple devices.Luckily we have both platforms in our home so this worked really well. We primarily bought this to stream out windows 10 laptop to our TV to make it basically a second monitor. Nothing like seeing your computer come to life on a 65" TV right! Instructions were easy to follow. And it came with the necessary power adapter to plug into the wall as well as a HDMI cable. Note the power cable is not very long so be sure you have an available outlet near your source (TV). I would recommend this for regular web surfing, email checking, or document creation. You can stream both audio and video easily. There is a slight lag between the laptop and the TV so it may not be ideal for Gaming. Resolution is 1080p so that is nice. I could also see using this for work or presentations where you could stream wire free to a TV at your event.

Works great with my Win10 laptop. Just follow the simple instruction booklet. So glad to be able to get rid of that tripping hazard HDMI cable.

    Misleading Overview + Overscan

My wife and I coach two different teams from our house and presenting material on our TV is very helpful. I've used a few different presentation systems at work and the most reliable has been a long HDMI cord. I was about to purchase a long HDMI cord for my home, but I bought this IOGEAR screen sharing receiver instead. When I saw the following in the Overview: USB and HDMI interfaces Make it easy to connect your compatible HDTV or monitor. I assumed it was going to be a USB dongle that would wirelessly transmit my display to the receiver. We have some of these similar display devices at work, so I knew how they worked. However, the above statement was misleading. There is no USB dongle that sits in your computer's USB port. There is a USB port on the receiver, it's a micro-USB port that is used to supply power. This device only comes with a receiver, a pretty beefy HDMI cord, a micro-USB to USB-A connector and a wall adapter for the USB cable. There are instructions, but they are pretty simple. Once the receiver is connected to your TV and to power, you can power on your TV, switch to the correct input and there is an animation that shows you how it works. Otherwise it's a static screen with basic instructions. The receiver does have a "Mode" button, which gives further instructions for Windows 7 and 8 users to insert the included CD. However, there is no included CD. Even going to the IOGEAR website yields no support downloads and the QSG (assuming Quick Start Guide) is blank. For a Windows 10 device, you'll use the <Windows Key> +

Other units may work ok but this one had a problem within 2 hours if starting g to use it. Streaming a program from a laptop and it was fine until the audio started cutting out and going scratchy. Video stayed fine. Was concerned I had a speaker problem but both the TV and auxiliary speakers were fine. Returned unit.
