I can't say enough good things about the Roomba i7+. I am coming from a Roomba 980 which had some annoying thing that this robot addresses and takes it to a whole another level of convenience. I have a large 3000 sq ft downstairs and multiple dogs. When I would use the 980 I would have to utilize the beacon and plan out where I was going to use it, and had to clean the machine of dog hair each and every time, meaning I always had to plan and constantly be involved with the robot each and every time that I wanted to run it. Difference I noted between our prior Roomba are: Refuse bag - The i7 uses a bag which has to be replaced. It appeared somewhat small to me and I was afraid this would be a huge increase in cost of running the unit. This has not been the case. The first bag lasted almost 2 months of almost daily use picking up hair from our 3 dogs before the unit indicated it needed to be changed. It is a welcome way of running the vacuum, the self cleaning function works REALLY well and I found that the dirt receptacle was really emptied. Ease of use - this is an awesome improvement from my prior Roombas. I can just set it and forget it. It takes several days of running for the unit to map the floor plan. You then label your floor plan and can tweak it to designate areas that you want to be off limits without having to use the beacons. After one month of running I had to clean the rollers and machine from collected hair on the rollers and other parts, and shake out the filter. After two months I had to empty the filter bag. This is a huge change from my prior Roombas where I had to clean it out after every usage. Battery - I found that the battery in the 980 seemed to last longer, but the i7 just does it in multiple steps going back to the base to empty itself and charge before going out again. The one unit is able to cover my entire 3000 sq. ft. For me the i7 was expensive initially, but it has been a huge improvement in allowing me to run the robot much more often without only on rare occasions having to do anything with it. It is a huge improvement, and for me has been well worth the money.

Great vacuum. Mapping is awesome. Able to send it on a mission to vacuum a specific room or area, it completes the job and returns to home base and empties the bin. I get a notification when the job is complete or if there is a problem.

Works pretty well. Definitely love the convenience of self emptying. Have had many robot vacs over the years and this one is no exception: I periodically find it dead near its home base because it couldn’t find home.

Great! But beware the lazy boy chair

Sets up and performs well. Rubber rotaries are easy to pop out and clean and can be done along with minor upkeep maintenance once a week or so along with cleaning the filter and making sure nothing is in the receptical (which because of the tower there rarely is). Since the rotaries don’t have bristles and alert you if they get a lot of dog fur in them, my dog’s hair isn’t a problem. I recommend zip tying cords and suspending them a few inches above the ground to “Roomba proof” your place because it’ll get under all your furniture and your first clean or so will really be big. After that being able to run it daily makes upkeep and subsequent cleanings lighter. So far the only problem I encounter is that it consistently gets stuck under my lazy boy rocking chair which makes leaving it to run a job a bit tough. It does come with a device that lets you creat a space the roomba won’t go but I use that elsewhere and the chair is in the middle of the room so it wouldn’t matter anyway. After a few times it digitally maps your spaces and you can program the rooms so that you can then have it only clean specific areas. It pairs with Alexa and you can name it so, that is cool as well.

Replaced a 7 year old Roomba and wow what difference! Used the app to map the house and now we can select when/where to vacuum from the phone. The self emptying feature is great. So far it looks like the home base will hold months of vacuum runs.

Bought this vac to help with pet hair of two German Shepherds. It's only been couple of days but it definitely helps with maintenaning my floors and clears up a lot of time for me. Haven't had to pick up a hand vac since. The self emptying feature was a must for me. So far I run it 1-2 times a day, that's how much shedding these dogs do. No more big balls of fur floating around which is nice. One concern of mine was potential clogging. So far I had no issues which was surprising. As long as you maintain the vacuum itself it'll last a long time. As for the set up. It was quick and simple. Through the app I had it set up and running within minutes. I don't even pick up my phone to run it, with a google home it's quick and easy. Only took the vacuum two complete runs of my 900+ sqft main floor to learn the layout. It keeps adjusting as things are moved around. On a side note, dedicate some time to adjust through the app which rooms to clean and which ones to avoid when it runs and you have the door closed. It'll spazz out for a good few minutes before it keeps on with the rest of the house. Thus the schedule feature is very handy.

The only draw back the price. I returned shark for i7+. It was too dark for shark to map, had delete & remap, then lost map. Support said wait 48hrs for update and may have to remap. i7 has had no issues & states map in all lighting. Map is great. You can have up to 10 maps for different floor, shark only 1 and that one don’t work. i7 has mapping only mode that you want to use to map whole house. It can map while vacuuming but uses more battery so has to recharge a few time while. Map only runs don’t vacuum so it save on battery. iRoomba is a much better than shark when using mapping. If you only small area then you might get by with cheaper shark. Returned my shark and not one issue with my i7+. Nice coming home and whole house is vacuumed even under furniture. It’s a 5 star vacuum, I minus one star because of price.

Mapping is almost perfect for finding cleaning areas, room by room. Very easy to use or program. Suction power is a little weaker than I expected. Besides that everything is great.

We have had this IRobot Vacuum for three months. It was easy to set up. It accurately mapped the first floor of my home (around 1500 square feet) and does a good job cleaning. I like that I can specify which room or rooms that I want to have vacuumed. Also, if the battery gets low before finishing the assigned job it will go back to the base empty the bin and, once recharged, it will automatically go back and finish the requested rooms still to be vacuumed. I would recommend this vaccuum highly for someone looking for a user friendly robot vacuum that requires little oversight as it performs its cleaning.

Only reason I am giving this 4, and not 5, stars is that it keeps closing itself into rooms...so that I have to rig the doors to stay open prior to it running. Otherwise...LOVE IT!

I was skeptical because it was such a great price. Its overall functionality was just what I was looking for. I couldn't tell if it was actually picking up anything but the proof was in the full bag. It picks up small items as well as dog hair.

I am a senior citizen with serious spine problems. Dragging around a Hoover was getting too much for me. I have a cat, so I need to clean frequently. I did a lot of research and determined that the I Robot I series was the machine for me. It's a bit pricey but worth the investment. My apartment is clean while I sit with my feet up. And the automatic dirt disposal avoids having to grub around cleaning dirty rollers, etc. Just change the bag when it's full.(I haven't had to yet and I've had the machine for over a month, running it at least 3 times a week...and that's with a cat.) The Roomba is easy to train to map your house, and easy to operate. Customer support has been excellent. A purchase I definitely don't regret.

Very happy with product overall. However, is a little loud while running. I bought to help keep up with dog hair and it helps a little but not as much as I would have liked. Overall, it is a great product. it helps cut down on my vacuuming all the time. I would need do 2x daily with my dogs, now about 2 twice a week.

The Roomba gets into places I can't get to, like under the couch. I love how it mapped out the layout of the rooms with the furniture and knows exactly where to clean everytime it goes out to clean. The ease of cleaning up accidental spills by being able to send the Roomba to a specific area is a great feature. The Roomba can clean smaller particulars on the floor better than a brook and dustpan can. The Roomba saves me time on cleaning weekly because I can set a schedule when I want the floor to be cleaned and I can send it out in between the sceduled cleanings if needed.
