Customers are saying

Customers express satisfaction with the Roomba s9+’s cleaning performance, mapping features, suction power, ease of use, self-emptying capabilities, and pet hair removal. However, some users note that the robot can be noisy and that its navigation system and battery life could be improved. Concerns were also raised regarding the robot's reliability and the relatively high price point. Overall, the positive feedback on cleaning and convenience is prominent, but potential buyers should consider the reported drawbacks.

We are so disappointed that this new vacuum didn’t work out for us. The plus side is the suction/Cleaning power was incredible and just as strong as our Dyson vacuum. It also did an amazing job even on our carpets! The downside is the first one we purchased didn’t work and gave an error message the very first day we had it. The second one we purchased worked for about two weeks and then started giving us an error message that the lid was open even though it wasn’t.

Great for floor area 1500+ sq.ft. Great suction makes it noisy, obviously. Mapping done by irobot in 2-3 runs. App works good. Best to square off dining table, dog bowl, floor outlets on the App to restrict irobot going there.

Horrendous. DO NOT BUY! I thought that the more expensive, the better and that is not the case. I had issues with the self-emptying aspect a month after purchase, but continued use and emptied the vacuum myself. There have been so many bugs since, but for the past month it is no longer going about the house to clean. It gets stuck and stays stuck. I checked my paperwork and I am well within the factory warranty. I just got off of a 40 minute phone call for them to tell me that there’s nothing they can do. I will never purchase this brand ever again. BEWARE!

Even though this was pricy, I can't imagine not having it! It has been great!!! I have it set to vacuum every day and with the built in disposal, I only have to empty it every few weeks. It does an awesome job with keeping the floors swept.

It cleans corners and flat up against the wal. I have very sensitive feet due to diabetes and I can feel every grain of dust or cat hair on the floor and this iRobot gets it clean! It empties itself and goes right back to cleaning.

Hardware is great, but onboard software and app need a lot of work. Roomba makes way too many mistakes and doesn’t always seem to take an efficient path. It can create rooms that don’t exist on the map and there’s no way to remove it aside from deleting all the mapping data and starting over.

Excellent robot vacuum! A dream come true; an automated robot vacuum! Additional spot vacuuming required in tight, small, spaces. A rubber edge on the front face would be better. Other than that, no complaints. Amazing product!

Maybe i should not have expected so much from a robovac but could never get it to map the house despite of hours of letting it create one. It also requires quiet a bit of babysitting

Cleans very good, its a little loud when it empties the bin. Much better than my last roomba, hair doesn't get tangled in the main brushes. Maps the house quickly and cleans my hardwood floors and carpeted areas good.

I was very excited to try the S9+. Many of the reviews I've read indicated it was the best on the market. The features were great - it mapped my house quickly, got into tight spaces, and for the first few runs, it was relatively quiet. However, within 4 days, it sounded like it was grinding gears when turning or going backwards - even on mapping runs (not vacuuming). The replacement started making the same noises within 30 minutes. Apparently the grinding is a known condition. Solutions range from simply tolerating the noise to replacing the brush unit. My experience with iRobot customer service was similar to other reviews, not very helpful. Hopefully this problem is just a new model bug that'll be worked out in the near future. I really think the increased power, D shape and better circular brush are improvements over previous models. Overall a disappointing experience for a $1,000 purchase. Kudos to the Best Buy customer service team. They were very courteous and professional when I exchanged the original unit and then ultimately returned the replacement.

I had such high hopes for this, did my research and and went all in an bought the top of the line, because go big or go home. This definitely does not work as intended and is more work than it's worth. It vacuums ok, but needs a lot of babysitting in the emptying of the bin and the mapping to learn the layout of the house is just worthless. The programmers for navigation and mapping should be fired. There is no logic to how the robot maps or vacuums. It did the map once, took 2 days, then it removed a wall that made it impossible for the roomba to go to the master bedroom without trying to go through the wall. You can add cleaning "boundaries" but you cannot add walls. It was never able to finish a single mapping run and would stop before finishing and not find its way home even with more than half of charge left. I tried putting the home base on three different locations, and tried to get the mapping done three different times throughout the week and it never got it right. It continued thinking there was no wall between my living room and master bedroom, which would make it impossible to use properly. Sensors require constant cleaning, bin requires constant emptying, takes a whole day to clean just the bottom story of my house. Forgot where "home" was on several occasions and sometimes will not even get you the option on the app to send home or empty bin, without tricking it by getting it started, then pausing, then sending it home. Sometimes would run out of battery before returning home to charge or get the bin full and freeze with an error message. Dyson should get it right before they market a useless device.

I love that it’s connected to WiFi and I can run it with my phone from anywhere. The smart mapping shows the rooms it has done or I can choose which rooms for it to clean. I have a lot of furniture and it does a great job maneuvering around everything. And it rarely gets stuck like an older model I had.

Not too bad, but gets lost or needs to be rescued from time to time. It does clean pretty well but does not work as seamlessly as the advertising describes. I would not return it but its also just barely worth keeping, for the price.

Retired my old 960 roomba for the s9+ roomba. What a difference, it is wider and it has a stronger vacuum. Highly recommend you pick one up. Yes it is expensive but after you get over sticker shock, you will be grateful.

I had chosen another vacuum robot and was less than pleased with it. I returned it and bought the Roomba s9+. The s9+ is much more thorough and has stronger suction capability. The mapping feature also seems to be more accurate.

I absolutely hate this thing. It replaced a Neato Botvac Connected that finally wore out. The S9 is loud, has a lot of trouble with carpet edges, and misses cleaning spots that are easily accessible. I have mostly hardwood floors with low pile area rugs. Every time it hits the edge of an area rug head on it lifts the edge of the rug and abruptly stops, backs up, and has to figure out a way to get on the rug. I have a small deep pile rug that it absolutely cannot handle. It gets on the rug, struggles to move, gets stuck, then shuts down and sends a message that it was going to fall off a cliff! My Neato Botvac had absolutely no problem with this rug. Did I mention that it is LOUD on hardwood floors. I spilled some small stuff on the area rug in a room that the S9 had run in many times. The mess was in a wide open area. I told the S9 to clean the room. It completely missed the area. Remember, this area was not surrounded by obstacles. Two more times I sent it to clean that room. Two more times it missed the wide open, easily accessible mess. It moves my light tables and chairs. I’ll have to the try gentle navigation option. I have an Deebot T8 that works beautifully and is not loud. I’ve owned several Neato Botvacs. They are loud but they work well, rarely get stuck unlike the S9, and have a large dustbin that is great for dog hair. I really have no idea why the S9+ gets good reviews. It is horrible.
