Don't waste your money

We purchased one in August last year. Thought it would be fun. It worked great for about 2 months, then it started getting an internal communication error. After many painful attempts to troubleshoot it with their tech support, they agreed to replace it. We waited a couple of weeks and the new one arrived. It worked great for two weeks, then started getting the same internal communication error. After even more painful attempts they agreed to replace it. The replacements are on back order, and we have been waiting over a month. Every day I get an email saying it's still on back order. I've tried to reboot our existing one but it works for five minutes then errors out. For something that is supposed to be top of the line, this is nothing but.

Should be great, but it's flawed

We got one full job out of it before it started to complain about being over a cliff. We attempted all of the troubleshooting that iRobot has with no success. The unit was not dirty as they kept alluding to. A 2nd unit was purchased from amazon and we had trouble, this one kept complaining about losing communication with the main board. We ended up giving iRobot another shot and purchased the i8+ from Costco (retail i7+) and so far so good though it is not as intelligent nor is the suction as good. It's hard to fault the i7 though when the s9 didn't work. The issues I had are not uncommon as I found. It seems there is a major quality control issue on the s9 as some people have no problems while others have nothing but issues.
