Works, but no FreeSync or VRR

I’ve tried 3 different adapters now and I am convinced it’s simply not possible. If that was your goal, hopefully I saved you a bit of trouble. That said, you can get an adapter with equal functions for less than half the price.

I understand it will not work with ALL usb-c’s, however, j5create technical department Julian replied to my inquiry and determined it would work with my laptop. I was hesitant to purchase it as I had purchased another brand from another supplier and it did not work correctly. Thank you Julian at j5create for the excellent technical support.

It has continued working seamlessly for three months, which is 2 and a half months longer than the last one I had.

The good news is this works like a charm. Simple to use, compact, and very affordable. I'm not sure why they put the rainbow LEDs on the side, it's minor.

Stopped working after 4 months

It worked great for the first few months that I had it, and the RGB lights were a gimmicky, but still fun feature. Picture quality was great! Then one day, it just stopped working. I thought it might have been my hdmi cables but I tried it with various TVs and computer monitors and the adapter would only blink yellow. My laptop kept saying there was a problem with the usb connection. I also tested it by plugging into other laptops and desktops. Unfortunately, still no dice. Next time, I'll stick to a basic adapter because this one was too expensive to only last 4 months.

Posted .The USB-C to HDMI 2.1 8K Adapter is considered a PnP device, no drivers required. Please contact the Manufacture (of your computer) Support to have them check if there are any available updates and have them assist you in properly updating your computer. Being behind on updates could cause the j5 device to not function as intended. This Adapter also requires DisplayPort 1.4 Alt Mode to transmit audio and video signals if testing with another computer. ** Feel free to contact j5create Technical Support if you require further assistance.
