Portable and fast! Perfect for backing up photos while traveling.

Used the hard drive as a backup for my Mac lap tops very fast better than my Apple time capsule.

After several issues with Seagate drives, both major and minor, and to a lesser degree, issues with WD units, I only use LACIE brand - and these rugged units are a personal favorite and are definitely worth a few extra bucks. This was my 6th Lacie Rugged purchase and I plan to buy 2 more in the near future.

Well, what is there to say about a hard drive. It stores stuff...lots of it. It has data recovery insurance built in which is AWESOME. Do you know how expensive it is to recover data from a broken hard drive? SUPER EXPENSIVE.

I've had several hard drives in the past from other competitors and I've been known to drop them a couple of times. With the outer protection on this hard drive, there's no need to be caution and worrying about dropping it. It also runs smooth and is a great product to use.

Reviewed products on line. This one was large enough and easy to use and was just what I needed.

My Mac has thunderbolt connections so I use that interface but the USB-C connection would equally work with newer laptops that have the USB-C interface; handy to have the two ways to connect, no issues with speed. The drive does warm up a bit when in use.

Just what I was looking for in a hard drive to carry with me on the road. I've used it now with the native Thunderbolt 2 cable and (on my new MacBook Pro) the USB-C interface and they're both incredibly fast. Can't go wrong with LaCie.

I purchased two of these hard drives on sale, and I am very happy with them. The speeds that I get using Thunderbolt are awesome; just as fast as my internal 72 RPM hard drives. I'm not a fan of the loud orange color, but it is growing on me.

Great little sucker, hasn't broken yet! I am the queen of disaster, but also like being prepared for my hot-mess-train-wreck of luck I have with electronics. This definitely lives up to the term rugged, and I am very grateful.

This unit comes with a mediocre hard drive in it, But you can upgrade it with an SSD then use it with your old MacBook Pro that has Thunderbolt 2. That is this product's best trick, in my opinion.

I didn’t really need the rugged rubber casing as I’m using this primarily at home to move my iTunes and photos off my primary MacBook drive. It’s worked as expected and transfer speed seems to be fast through the thunderbolt cable. No regrets.
