Hard drive is good...usb-c is not good

It either doesn't connect at all, or connects and spontaneously ejects itself while I'm in the middle of editing videos. I used a different usb-c cord and had no issues whatsoever. For the money I spent on this hard drive, I would appreciate a usb-c cord that works.
