If you are someone who works for very long periods of time, this laptop has a very low battery life; 4hrs max, be aware.
However, the device itself is very efficient, I personally use it for school assignments and projects and the casual Netflix and YouTube binging and everything runs very smoothly.
The screen looks nice, FHD, easy to use, boots up very quickly aswell and I love Windows 10.
The computer also looks and feels very well done and sturdy.
The only other complaint is that the camera quality is poor, but that I can overlook, just really wish the battery would last a bit longer, but at a 420 dollar price point I didnt expect anything above average.

Thank you for choosing the lenovo IdeaPad 15.6-Inch Laptop, model number 81UT00EAUS. We are pleased to hear that the value, features and performance of the IdeaPad 15.6 meets your computing needs so well. This is a mid-level, moderate use configuration, with its AMD Ryzen 3 3200U processor. This Dual-Core/Four-Thread processor has a base speed of 2.6GHz and a boost speed of up to 3.5GHz. This configuration has 8GB of DDR4-2400MHz RAM and a 256GB solid state hard drive. It is good with Microsoft Office type programs, internet browsing and other moderate work. This model ships with Windows 10 S-Mode Operating System. Windows 10 S-Mode provides added security by only allowing APPs available ( and therefore certified by Microsoft) at the Microsoft Store. If you don't need the added security or you need to install APPs not available at the Microsoft Store, you can switch to standard Windows 10 Home 64-bit Operating System, at no additional cost.

This laptop meets the needs I needed in such a good price, that I do not regret purchasing it. Starts up quickly, whenever I shut it down it goes back to where you were last. Nice design wise, the light signaling the CAPS Lock and Num lock is good.
Sure I lost the ability to play DVDs on the laptop, but thats what External DVD Drives are for. Of course there are Cons, and the only cons are ones that other reviews covered about the Webcam quality not being great. Obviously it isn't really a laptop for playing games. Not sure if I can count Windows 10 Home S as a con, as you can just switch to the Windows 10 Home easily.
There's also a setting to show a bigger battery icon that has a percentage on it, kind of a small thing, but I like it.

The Lenovo IdeaPad 15.6-Inch Laptop, model number 81UT00EAUS, ships with a 2CELL_35WH_INTERNAL, Lithium Polymer Battery, with a battery life of up to 4 hours, depending on the work the device is performing. If you are only getting 2 hours of battery life, be sure Battery Conservation Mode is turned off. This power management setting is for laptops that are plugged in all the time. It will charge the battery to 60-percent capacity only to prolong the overall life of the battery. Here is a link to instructions for turning off Battery Conservation Mode: https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/solutions/ht103159. If the Battery Conservation Mode is not turned on, then be sure any software you installed is compatible with Windows 10. Incompatible software will drain the battery at a faster rate. There is no need to install Microsoft Office software. The software is already part of the operating system, you just need to activate the software with a purchased product key. If you have installed a copy of Microsoft Office, this is conflicting with the existing copy on the system and this will slow your system down. If you have installed a 3rd party anti-virus program, be sure that Windows Defender is turned off and that the trial version of McAfee Anti-Virus software is uninstalled. There can only be one anti-virus program on the system. You may need to restore your system to original factory default settings if any of the programming errors have occurred. You can do that by typing "restore" in the Cortana search window. Just click on the magnifying glass icon at the bottom left of your Windows 10 Desktop. Click on "Reset This PC" Then click on "Get Started" and follow the on screen directions to restore to factory defaults. Finally, here is a link to tips for getting more battery life within Windows 10: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/20443/windows-10-battery-saving-tips. Where do I start, I’m the type of person who does tons of research before buying, it’s kind of annoying at times. Anyways I think Lenovo had to cut price on a few parts of the laptop in order to keep it at this price and I think they did a smart and awesome job. This laptop offers a lot for the money. (If a lot for you is the best minimum requirements for a good laptop). What I mean is most laptops at this price range offer 4gb ram this one offers 8gb ram ( technically 6 usable) which is more almost double than average. The processor is the minimum good processor when it comes to some gaming and video editing, the memory capacity of 256 ssd is the minimum amount of memory you want on a laptop to run well and have enough storage room, this isn’t a huge deal because you can buy an external ssd drive for extra room for about $130 and that’s about 1tb . Most at this price range only offer 120gb or less or more but HDD which makes the laptop slower, The screen resolution is 1920x1080 which is a really good resolution some $700 laptops don’t have this. And it’s full hd. Also two of its 3 USB ports are 3.1 generation which has double the transfer speed of 3.0 generation. Ok now The negatives of this laptop. The shell casing isn’t metals or a strong material it’s like a plastic but doesn’t look bad or feel like plastic, the camera is really bad but you can buy a usb Camera replacement for cheap , the mouse pad is not high quality it’s not terrible but it’s also not good, I put it on max sensitivity setting and it fixed this problem, I also bought a wireless mouse for $20 that’s much much better. The keyboard is actually really nice quality and have zero complaints about that. also the fans stay on but they aren’t loud even in quiet places. To me it was more important to get great computer specs than the outer shell or camera that hardly is ever used all it’s negatives can be fixed really easy, and for the price you just can’t beat it I’ve looked I paid about $350 on sale and I promise anything similar is if lucky $500 but mostly $700 range . If you want more than this it will cost more than $800. Conclusion if you don’t want to spend more than $600 then this is the perfect laptop and you save money :)

I can rattle off the negatives, such as battery life is average at best, poor built-in webcam quality, viewing angles are not great. But for well under $400, you are getting a lot. Its a true HD screen. The SSD hard drive makes a HUGE difference in speed, and 256gb is the minimum "just big enough" storage size for me. Boots up quick! The AMD processor is plenty fast, and coupled with 8gb memory, this PC, overall, is pretty fast for most basic work tasks and should be perfect for a student. This is NOT a gamer laptop, but I'm sure many games will play just fine (I have no idea really) but for most users, you are getting a really great value laptop. It looks very modern as well, that's a bonus!

I love the sleek design. I love the windows 10 after you turn off S mode. The ease of use. The memory is decent enough to do office work and save photos and a little bit of gaming. I did however purchase a Seagate slim external hard drive, which I use to save my files and pictures on to keep the computer with more memory. Works great. Literally just plugged it in and it formatted on it's own and was ready to go.
Here is what I do not like. The camera is junk. It's very pixelated. Looks like junk. Very old camera in a new computer. I dont actually need or us the camera anyway, so it's not a big deal to me, but I know a lot of people will buy this laptop in hopes to facetime, this is not good for that. Second thing that really bothers me, the battery does not last. I was watching netflix and the battery was fully charged. About 40 mins into the movie, the battery was dead. Had to plug it in. Since then, I can not take it off the charger for more then 30 mins. I understand a computer being a lot older having this issue, but I bought this new, with just an open box. Why is my battery acting like this has been used over and over and drained. It's really frustrating sometimes, because I just need it to work when I'm not near an outlet and it just isn't possible.
Hopefully I can get a replacement batteries or something. Again it is not a HUGE issue, but it is an issue. I can still use it for what I need it for, and the things I can not use it for, I use my phone. Which is another great option, they have a phone sync program that allows me to take pictures and save files and data, and I can open it on my laptop. Worked great.
Anyway, that's my review. Overall it's been great. Has a few flaws with the camera and battery, but the laptop itself works great. Runs smooth, and loads fast. Speakers are decent too. But I usually link to my JBL Charge 4, Sounds way better.

Bought this as a replacement for a 5 year old Asus laptop with poor battery. I use it for web browsing, word processing, light photo editing and very light gaming (LoL). I can have multiple tabs open with no problem. It doesn’t lag when I play with LoL. The biggest downside is the poor battery life which is 4.5 hours but for the price, it was expected. I also did notice that when I made the first windows update, the fan started making a loud noise so I reset it to factory settings and it got fixed. Just make sure to uninstall unnecessary blotware which this laptop doesn’t seem to have much of anyways. Definitely don’t pay more than $400. Overall, despite the low specs and plastic feel to it. It’s not too heavy for a laptop this size and it works decently

I bought this laptop for my 5 year old so I wasn't expecting Sun, Moon or Stars out if it but I will say I was impressed with the speed and specs.
I'm a sort of power user of computers and mostly assemble desktops instead of buying prefab but this laptop hit a sweet spot since it was Black Friday special and I only paid $380 for the specs was awesome and I like the fact that I can upgrade as well.
Now the things I don't like, Windows S Mode, hate that but its a easy as 1, 2, 3 to come out of it.
The built is very plastiky but for the price I shouldn't be complaining about that.
I would recommend this to anyone looking for a basic all-round laptop for daily use in classroom and for homework.

I needed a laptop for school and work, but I also wanted something that I could throw Skyrim or Borderlands on and game a little when I got bored. Took a chance on this and I'm super impressed with how well everything runs, the quality of the keyboard, trackpad, and the full HD screen all for under 400. Sure, you're not gonna be running Crysis at max settings, but it's more than enough for casual gaming, web browsing, just about everything. My beautiful baby boy.

Okay, I admit I just bought this laptop. But please allow me to bring a couple of things to your attention. The first? Eight (8) GB of RAM! The second? Full HD-1920/1080 pixels per square inch. With HDR! You can not get either of those features-let alone both-for anything even close to this price!! And they do make a difference. First let's talk RAM. For anything remotely in this price range, you get 4 GB of RAM. And you do NOT want 4GB of RAM-well, unless you like reading error messages! This laptop has 8GB of RAM. Also, the difference between HD-1366/768- compared to FHD-1920/1080 is PRONOUNCED! To say the difference is "noticeable " would be a huge understatement! And this laptop is not just fast, but BLAZING fast! Maybe it's the RAM? There were allegedly some concerns about the keyboard, but that is not the case-even though I use a mouse like most of the civilized world, I still checked it out-with my laptop, The Lenovo IdeaPad shown here. Also, I don't use the -NEVER!-camera, so that matter is irrelevant to me. And try, just TRY to match these specs with anything within $2-300.00. You can not. Fantastic, absolutely GREAT laptop!!! One more thing. Most-at least quite a few-electronic components are made in CHINA. So, if you think it is hard to buy eggs...let's just say the window of opportunity to purchase electronics is already very small, and shrinking by the day. I did the research for you-12 to 18 hours looking at specs and reading reviews. If you are a gamer, or maybe have some ultra-sophisticated work to do? Perhaps this laptop is not for you. But for, I guess you could say a "casual" user like myself?? This laptop is a STEAL!! So, buy it. While you still can.

Looked and looked for the right laptop and finally found this Lenovo. Purchased without too much expectation and now quite satisfied with the purchase. Yes, the camera could be a deterrent but I don't use it very often. At 220 nits, display could be brighter but again, not a show stopper for my use habits. The very good is its speed and multi tasking capabilities. Fast is a good word to use w/o exaggeration. The touch pad needs a little getting used to with its location on the board but like anything else, you get used to it. I'm a mouse guy anyway. Good value but my previous HP lasted 8 years so longevity will determine if the value holds up. Matte screen really cuts down any background glare. Good for general purpose use.

Was not happy with the display in the first days (faded) but after fine tuning it using Radeon settings and finished with running the Windows tuner, it looks much better now.
I'm still confused with the max. memory and speed, specs says 12GB DDR4-2400 but on some sites it says 20GB DDR4-2666.
I ordered a 8GB DDR-2400 for the mean time as video consumes 2G as previously reported.
Will add also another 1TB HD to it later.
Otherwise works great so far and seems to be a good choice for the cost. Switched out of S. Wifi speed test shows was 210Mbs up/170Mbs down so that would do for now.
