Punches way above its class!
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is basically the 27GS95QE without RGB lights but for $600 on sale instead of $900. Buy it now! I cross compared this panel against every OLED monitor up to $1500 on rtings and it went toe to toe and excelled in every way possible. Cant wait to re experience my favorite games! P.S. VRR flicker is unavoidable on any monitor but as long as your fps arent bouncing up and down in dark areas you'll never see it!

Great gaming monitor
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you're in the market for a high-performance gaming monitor that combines breathtaking visuals with lightning-fast performance, the LG UltraGear 27" OLED is a great contender. This gaming monitor is designed for those who demand the best in both image quality and responsiveness, and it delivers on all fronts. Stunning Visuals with OLED Technology The most striking feature of the LG UltraGear is its OLED display. The VESA DisplayHDR True Black 400 certification means it’s capable of reproducing the deepest blacks and the most vibrant colors, creating a truly immersive gaming experience. Whether you're battling through dark, intense scenes or basking in the bright glow of a victory, the 1.5M:1 contrast ratio ensures every detail pops off the screen. The OLED technology is perfect for gaming, as it produces rich blacks and deep contrasts that make every scene feel more cinematic. With up to 98.5% DCI-P3 color coverage, the colors are not just bright—they're gorgeous. The color accuracy is superb, making it a great choice not only for gaming but also for content creators who need accurate, vivid colors for their work. Blazing Fast Performance When it comes to gaming, speed matters—and the LG UltraGear OLED delivers with 240Hz refresh rate and an incredible 0.03ms response time. This is nearly instantaneous performance, ensuring you’re never a frame behind in competitive games. The ultra-fast refresh rate means smoother gameplay, with less ghosting and lag, while the 0.03ms response time ensures every click, every movement, is executed instantly. The anti-glare and low reflection properties of the OLED screen help minimize distractions from ambient light, keeping your focus entirely on the game. Whether you’re playing in a well-lit room or in the dark, this monitor handles reflections with ease, making it perfect for any setup. This did come with a stand but I opted not to use it and use my own desk arms and it mounted up quickly and easily. Connectivity Options The monitor is equipped with HDMI 2.1 and DisplayPort 1.4, allowing you to connect the monitor to your gaming PC or console with ease. Both of these connections support the 240Hz refresh rate, ensuring you're getting the most out of your display. The monitor also has a 4-pole headphone jack, which is convenient for gamers who want to combine their headset’s microphone and stereo signal. Final Verdict The LG UltraGear 27" OLED is a powerhouse of a gaming monitor, and I would recommend this to anyone looking for one!

Perfect OLED Monitor other than some VRR Flicker
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The LG UltraGear 27GS93QE-B OLED gaming monitor is a 27” 240Hz 1440p monitor with a 03ms gray to gray response time. It comes with a remote, HDMI and Display Port cable, power supply and cable, USB-B to USB-A cable, and lots of quick start and warranty guides. It features 2 USB-A 3.2 Gen 1 5Gbps ports, a USB-B port for the data transfer from your PC, 1 Display Port 1.4 and 2 HDMI 2.1 ports, and a 3.5mm audio out jack and Optical Audio out. It also features 8, 10, and 12 bit color. The monitor looks and feels extremely well built and, in my opinion, looks more professional than most gaming-oriented monitors with the lack of RGB and a tasteful dark gray, silver and black color way. It weighs in at 17 pounds, measures 24” across and 12” deep with the included stand. The monitor can raise and lower and tilt up and down on the included stand. However, it can only be rotated in into portrait mode counterclockwise, which means the inputs will always be on the right side of the stand. The monitor does include a clip that attaches to the sand to route your cables a bit cleaner. It has a 100x100 VESA mount for those of you who want to mount it on a monitor arm. The monitor has a matte finish on the screen. This is to help combat glare, and it does a good job. Some people complain matte finishes make the images darker, and while that is valid, I cant say I had any problems seeing the monitor regardless of light in the room, short of shining a flash light or direct sunlight on it. The monitor has a peak brightness of 271 nits which is well below good IPS displays that push 400 nits. I can’t say I was bothered by this like I thought I would be. 100% brightness on this monitor is still brighter than what I used on my IPS and it still can get eye searingly bright in dark rooms. This monitor is great at motion performance, with very little motion blur and no screen tearing when set up properly. I used everything from Blur Buster’s UFO test to games as easy to run as CSGO to heavy hitters like Cyber Punk 2077 so try and get the screen to tear and blur with very little success. Some people are more susceptible to it than others, an I didn’t notice tearing or street lamps and other straight up and down objects in FortNite and the helicopter blades in Battlefield 2042. On PC and with an NVIDIA GPU I was able to eliminate it completely by turning Adaptive Sync on in the monitor menu, turning Ultra Low Latency and Variable Refresh Rate on in the NVIDIA Control Panel, and turning off my refresh rate cap and any VRR settings in each game. This is recommended in the industry and it does really work. I can’t speak to users with an AMD Radeon GPU on how to fix this, but I imagine it is a similar adjustment. The Variable Refresh Rate flicker is another matter. VRR allows your monitors refresh rate to match the frame rate of your computer or console in an effort to reduce screen tearing. While it does a good job at eliminating screen tearing (again when properly set up), the VRR causes very bad flickering that you can notice. It is mostly when frame rates are unstable, and most noticeable in loading screens. It looks cheap and looks terrible. This is unfortunately a problem with OLED displays in general and not just the LG UltraGear. However, other monitor brands like Samsung have ways of reducing this issue. I wish LG did as well. When in game however I have yet to notice the flickering, even when really looking for it, but your mileage may vary. Your other option is to run with Adaptive Sync turned off and put up with possible screen tearing. The colors on this monitor are absolutely beautiful and the blacks are bottomless. Just like an OLED TV you may own or have seen in Best Buy, the colors and blacks are the stars of an OLED screen. I thought my IPS monitor looked good but this LG blows it out of the water. As good as the colors are it really is the blacks and the pure contrast that just shines. It makes things look so much better that its almost like everything is a new game again. I was blown away by the explosions and the depths of oceans. It just kept getting better. LG is doing its best to make sure your new OLED screen lasts and doesn’t burn in. The monitor has Screen Move, which will shift static images by a few pixels every now and then to help reduce the risk of burn-in. After four or more hours of continuous use, Image Cleaning will turn on with the monitor turns off or goes into stand-by. It takes about 10 minutes to complete. It can be interrupted if need be. Then after every 500 hours of use, Pixel Cleaning will turn on once the monitor is turned off or goes into stand-by. It takes about a minute to complete. All these are automatic so you don’t have to worry about remembering to do any of the maintenance. LG also gives the monitor a 2 year warranty, and if you wish you can get an extra 4 year extended warranty at Best Buy as well. The only thing I would do differently to a normal IPS or VA monitor is if using a PC, turn “Hide the Taskbar” on so its not hanging out at the bottom of your screen all day. Something worth mentioning is the remote. It is intuitive and easy to use, has programmable presets to go from web browsing to gaming and I actually found myself using it more than dealing with the menu button on the monitor. My only complaint is I wish it used AAA batteries instead of a coin battery. I have multiple LG products, and they all use those stupid, expensive coin batteries. Other than that, I love the remote. Aside from the finicky VRR flicker that I was able to adjust out for the most part, I have not come across any issues. The monitor is well built and looks great with a blacked out media PC, and RGB gaming behemoth, or a gaming console. The OLED performance is fantastic and no noticeable motion blur. If you are in the market for a high-end OLED gaming monitor, I would certainly recommend you check the UltraGear 27GS93QE-B out. I’m glad I did.

Best Budget OLED Gaming Monitor
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.THIS… Is the LG Ultragear UHD OLED 240hz with .03 GTG response. To be honest, I was really excited to get this as it really checks several boxes while also being in a more reasonable price range ~$600. It seems that there finally a really good 1440p OLED panel that's also high refresh rate (240hz) on the market, so lets take a look! Unboxing the monitor, I am enamored by just how thin the sides of the monitor are! This is not my first oled, but I am always blown away by just how thin they are on the sides. The build quality is exceptional as well, and you can tell this is on the premium side of monitors (it IS still $600). I was also really pleased to see that it came with a remote, this is the first monitor I have gotten with one and to be honest I will take this over trying to find the buttons on the back, bottom or side of the monitor and then also trying to remember which button is which without turning it off. The stand is great, however, I am team wall mount so onto my mount it went (standard vesa mount). I am also replacing an LG 4k monitor so I was able to use the same power cable, and man is the power brick big! Turning on the monitor I was initially almost let down, but stick with me here for a second. My previous monitor was a regular panel 4k monitor… so it isn't as sharp and it certainly is less bright! That being said, as I booted up cyberpunk (my current addiction) all my thoughts melted away. The blacks are so… BLACK! The colors pop, the contrast is fantastic and the accuracy is sooo much better than where I was coming from. While my FPS did not really go up in cyberpunk (poor optimization), almost all my other games did and man… 200hz+ is so nice. At 250 candela, the monitor isn’t too bright, but it is certainly bright enough in games and in general usage. Something I wanted to touch on was the coating on the screen, it isn’t gloss… which was almost a thorn in my side, but given the low CD/M2, I do enjoy it. My monitor doesn’t have a window facing it, but I do have a TV over my shoulders that would glare so I really do appreciate the textured screen over the gloss. I would give a note that you should exercise your return window should you have a nasty glare as I am not sure the screens brightness is enough to overcome bright or direct sunlight without curtains. I just want to go over these honestly god tier specs before I move on, QHD, .3ms GTG, OLED with 240hz and G-sync compatible... WOW 2016 me would never believe where we have gotten to at such a decent price. The only real gripe I have on the monitor is that, while it claims to have razer thin edges (it does), the border around the screen is almost a quarter of an inch which is honestly more than I was expecting. While a headache, this is not a deal breaker for me and just something I have gotten use to. This monitor also has a minor chin on it that sticks down in the middle of the monitor, so if you have anything below your monitor you might want to make sure it all fits before moving forward. To wrap this up, this is genuinely one of the best ‘budget’ options for an OLED panel and until micro led comes around, this is absolutely the best you can get. Yes there is qd-oled and yes there is brighter oled’s out there, but they are almost double the price and 4k screens really aren’t realized at higher refresh rates due to the GPU demand. I have a 4080 and on the highest settings I was around 80-100fps, whereas with this screen I am always north of 180fps AND it is genuinely a better experience. This is why I love bestbuy though, they have tons of monitors out playing games and are often times hooked up to a PC so you can test it before you buy. That being said, Best Buy has an excellent return policy and even better customer service, so you never have to worry about buying a product that you don’t like… so there is no harm in testing it out!

Excellent OLED gaming monitor at a reasonable pric
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The LG UltraGear 27” OLED monitor has an impressive list of specs and some nice features. Included in the box are the following: HDMI cable, display port cable, power supply (a large brick) and even a remote control. The design of the monitor is nice, I like that the monitor can be rotated easily and the height adjustable stand. Connections on the monitor include HDMI and display port inputs, 3.5mm and optical for audio output. Overall the monitor looks nice and feels sturdy. There isn’t much of a physical frame around the monitor, but the black border is a bit over ¼”, I’ve seen thinner The included remote makes changing settings a breeze! A bit more intuitive to use the typical up/down, left/right buttons on a monitor. Performance: This is where this monitor shines. Spec wise, this monitor is pretty much the same as the 27GS95QE, but without the fancy RGB lighting on the back. I plan to use this monitor for gaming, watching movies occasionally as well as schoolwork. Playing games on this over the past few days has been a game changer from my previous monitor (not a gaming monitor). With the 240Hz refresh rate, the games I’ve thrown at it so far (C.O.D, Grand Theft Auto and Valorant) has been very smooth, I haven’t noticed any motion blur or ghosting. I found the OLED colors to be very good, dark levels in my “goto” test movie, Batman Returns are very dark. In some dark scenes, you can see some of the details. But in other movies, animations such as Toy Story, the colors are vibrant and rich. This makes perfect sense, as LG is the leader in OLED TV’s! The one potential downside of OLED is they are still suspectable of burn in, be sure to use the screen saver and screen move. Conclusion: Overall, I’m very happy with this monitor. It’s a very good-looking gaming monitor with great specs at a reasonable price!

Gaming to the max, clunky stand.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This OLED monitor has been a superb addition to my gaming set up. The responsiveness and display quality has been something that I have not seen in many monitors. The 16:9 ratio is a must for most gamers and paring that with the G synch assures that the output is running flush with all other outputs. From a graphic standpoint this monitor is amazing, its OLED display is very nice on the eyes. This OLED monitor pumps out some major bright colors while keeping the dark (black color/pixels) extremely dark, its edge was nearly impossible to see where it ends. From a build standpoint, the build itself is good. The monitor is extremely thin, but the back section located near the base is a tad clunky. There are plenty of inputs and outputs on this monitor so there was never any worry from that point. The stand was one thing that I do not care too much for, even though this is purely cosmetic and if you choose to mount it this becomes a moot point. The stand is not very pretty. That said, its the only small downfall of this product. It has a covering piece that is provided to hide its messy construction and is wider than it should be. The base of the stand could have been heavier and narrower to reduce desk room needed. All in all, from a display standpoint this monitor is amazing, the OLED is a must have for those gamers. The stand is a bit cumbersome but not a complete deal breaker if you choose to mount.

||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.WOW! After spending a few days with it, I can say how amazing this monitor is. Coming from an LG IPS display, the colors, clarity, and response time on this monitor is incredible. I have read several reviews complaining about the matte finish, and I personally do not see an issue with it. The text fringing is fixable by tweaking your clear type settings. Took some time to get it all set up the way I like it, and I'm never going back to LCD! This is the same panel as the other LG OLED, just without the RGB. I did think it would take some getting used to having a remote instead of the toggle button, but I prefer it now. If your on the fence about spending the money on this, its worth it!

AMAZING MONITOR BUT...
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Set up was easy, beautiful display but i was confused to why it had white lines flickering across the screen, was really worried it was a bad display, to found out that it was the NVIDIA bitrate settings that was causing it, kinda wish windows adjusted it for you but for me i had to fix it through the settings, BUT OTHER THEN THAT , ITS A AMAZING AND BEAUTIFUL OLED MONITOR, definitely beats IPS and VA panels, 240 hz is definitely enough to do anything for your needs

||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Was initally worried when i got the monitor but some quick settings chnages and its great. Intense screen flicker with g-sync enabled so turn that off. Then perform an image cleaning and pixel cleaning care task in order to remove any pixel or vertical line issues on the OLED display. Ans you will love it! Also make sure pc frames are set to 240 of course.

After calibration with windows (0 on 1st screen/400 on the next 2… 400 nits is max!) use Nvida settings and turn contrast to 60. Then use task scheduler to disable windows auto adjust (Look it up on youtube). Perfect for gaming.

Great 240hz 1440p OLED that won't break the bank
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. With so many OLED monitors out there from every manufacturer having a dizzying array of lines it's hard to know where to start. LG has been making OLED screens for a good while now. So it seems like a safe bet to look to them. First thing I noticed was that the GS93 was not too heavy which was nice to see (or hold while in the box). When I got the box open I took notice on how thin the body of the screen was which makes it look similar to their larger screen OLED TVs which I always liked. The stand is put together like many other stands and clipped right into the vesa mount and again being so light was easy to carry to my desk. The boomerang foot print will take up some awkward space on your desk (at least for me), but it does offer a stable base for the monitor and as long as you have a good desk it will keep the screen from wobbling. Range of motion is kind of limited as it doesn't appear to swivel at all. But it can stand pretty tall height wise since it can be turned into portrait mode, however, that angle seems a bit trivial which I will touch on later. My first con with this monitor will have to be the single button on this monitor that will control the OSD. The included remote will make navigating the OSD much easier, but between having it floating around on the desk and having to need to change the CR2025 battery down the line make it seem like an unnecessary hassle that would not need to exist had they stuck with their joystick button which have always been fairly easy to use on their past monitors. IF the remote attached to the back of the monitor or even integrated into the stand somewhere with a magsafe type charger that also kept it wirelessly charged, that would've been epic. A second gripe would be the power brick which I have been seeing is becoming the norm with monitors that are slimmer but still thick. No onboard speakers on this monitor but there is a 3.5mm headphone jack which is convenient but will not be used by myself. No dead pixels out of the box which is among the first thing I look for, but I have been relatively fortunate in my years dealing with LCD/OLED screens. I prefer matte screens because I have a window directly behind me which during the day is glare city, but I do understand that matte screens will take away from some of the beauty of the colors that OLED offers. But for gaming this monitor has been very pleasing to my eyes. Flicker free and buttery smooth. No tearing and extremely responsive. 240hz seems like overkill but there are 360hz monitors now, but I'm not sure how much of that jump I'd discern. Blacks are black with no blooming around bright objects on the screen. Watching movies and games on the LG OLED are satisfying to me even with the matte surface and great brightness. Text on the other hand is my final con with this monitor. Black text on white background is a bit sloppy and not crisp. White text on a dark background fairs better. But the latter makes me think my eyes are not focused. This monitor doesn't appear to well suited for office duty. Viewing angles are excellent which is good since there is essentially no swivel unless pivoting the boomerang. At $600 price point this UltraGear is not a terrible choice for a 240hz 1440p OLED gaming monitor with GSync. Shave off some more maybe near Black Friday and it is a great choice for sure!

Wonderful looking display
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So with this new monitor I have moved from a LG UltraGear 27" Nano IPS QHD 1-ms LED 165Hz monitor (which is a beautiful monitor in its own right), to this LG ULtraGear 27" OLED 240Hz monitor.... The initial impressions of comparison was absolutely noticable, the colors and the level of black is just fantastic! Everything just pops on this thing, gorgeous images... There was a few settings that needed to be defined with the monitor and nvidia software, with the help of google/youtube, it wasn't too tidous but should help with any weird screen issues that 'all' oleds can produce.... I wasn't sure how much I would like this monitor but after a week of putting in alot of gaming (call of duty, rocket league, cyberpunk 2077 etc) I was happy to experience this monitor held up to anything I threw at it, having a response time of .03ms and being 240Hz really helped for some great gaming. There wasn't anything I experienced with this monitor that was problematic or hard to really understand, pretty much plug and play. not much else to say about this OLED, It definitely performs well, and with a good price I would highly suggest getting one.

A very good low-cost OLED monitor, but not perfect
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.GOOD - OLED picture quality - Supports native 4K resolution - Simple interface - Useful remote - Two USB ports on back - Affordable for 240 Hz OLED display BAD - Big power brick - Navigating menus w/o remote is almost impossible - No front accessible USB ports - Text clarity could be better TLDR It doesn't have all the bells and whistles, but this is an affordable workhorse of a 240 Hz OLED gaming monitor that's quasi-4K capable. DETAILS Viewing quality HDR content on a properly calibrated OLED screen is a beautiful thing to behold. But most people have never had that opportunity as most OLED displays are prohibitively expensive. The $600 price tag ( as of this writing ) may still seem high, but it's quite affordable compared to the $800 - $1200 tag on a lot of other OLED gaming monitors. And despite the lower price, it's not stripped down on features. The monitor is overall very good quality. Due to it's smaller size and lower resolution, you won't get the maximum brightness and HDR effect like you will from a TV. But it does pretty good for its limitations and it's not hard to get the picture adjusted to your liking. The monitor also has common "game mode" features like a superimposed crosshair and frame counter. The stand feels reasonably sturdy and you can adjust height, front-to-back tilt, and rotate the display to portrait orientation. The specs say it can swivel side-to-side, but that doesn't seem to be the case. Maybe it does swivel, but doing so requires a lot more force than I'm willing to put on the thin display frame. I'd also prefer a flat bottom plate rather than the wide spread Y legs, as that would take up less desk space and allow me to stack a few things on the plate. The monitor doesn't have speakers of its own, but it does have two audio out connections, one 3.5mm headphone jack and one fiber optic port on the back. It doesn't have eARC, so you can't hook it up to a soundbar through HDMI. It also has a built-in USB hub with two ports on the back, so you can connect your keyboard, mouse or other peripherals. It would be nice if LG took a page from Dell's book and added some USB ports on the bottom of side so you could use it for thumb drives or other peripherals that are frequently connected and detached. The on-screen menu is easy to navigate with the included remote and the options and settings are grouped intuitively so you don't need to constantly bounce back and forth to get the picture to your liking. The remote has a good button layout with dedicated controls for switching inputs, display brightness, and the audio out volume. One oddity is the reader mode button on the remote. It quickly sets the screen to a reader or night time mode, but pressing the button again doesn't return you back to the last picture mode. However, don't ever lose the remote as you'll have a devil of a time getting through the menu without it. Instead of cursor keys or a joystick, the monitor has a single physical button to navigate the menus, and it's horrible to use. You can also use LG's companion software to control the settings from a computer, but that doesn't help if you're mainly using this for Xbox or PlayStation. Like many OLED monitors and TVs, the screen is very thin front-to-back around the top and sides while still having a central blister on the back to house the inputs and other control circuitry. Having the thin edges makes it harder to mount webcams on top of the monitor and makes the display more fragile overall. Really, it makes no sense for manufacturers to keep using this construction style for OLEDs because it doesn't save anything on overall size. Using a full cabinet also gives you more space to house internal power regulation circuitry. That means you can use a standard power cable instead of a massive power adapter brick with specialty connection. Again, Dell has been doing this for years and it would be nice if LG and others would adopt the practice. Most of these are minor complaints, though. Apart from having only two USB ports, my only serious gripe with the monitor is the clarity of text. Due to how LG structured the subpixels, text looks a tiny bit fuzzy around the edges. I find it distracting, though whether it's enough to bother you is a personal matter. For gaming and movies, it doesn't matter. But if you use it for work in the day ( and game at night ) and if you handle a lot of documents, it might be more than you want to bear with. It's not a perfect gaming monitor, but for this lower price point, it's certainly a worthwhile option.

Great monitor if you're willing to splurge
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is an absolutely amazing monitor! I have a 3-screen set-up with (left-to-right) a 24" vertical, 34" 4k, and 27" vertical monitors. The verticals are older, but the center is a Samsung 4k smart monitor and I figured there's no way that this monitor would replace a significantly larger 4k. However, this monitor looks SOOO much sharper. Some of this has to do with what a computer can power. With this many monitors, everything runs more smoothly with the 1440p than with a 4k, even when cranked up to 120Hz (the best my laptop can do). I'm fairly certain that the clarity is also coming from the deep blacks that this monitor produces. Colors are more vibrant, the contrast is sharper, all colors are clearer. Plus, the difference between a monitor at 60 Hz and at 120 Hz is something you might not think would make much of a difference, but everything is so much better in the center monitor than at the sides. This is definitely an expensive monitor, but so was the Samsung 4k smart monitor. That one is a jack of all trades (more of an 8 of all trades...) while this one does an amazing job of what a monitor should actually do - clearly show images and video and be a pleasure to look at.
