Setup was easy and the instructions were clear. Once the Lorex app was downloaded and I scanned the barcode on the bottom of the camera, it was no more than a minute or two to be fully up and running. I like that it came with mounting hardware that can be used to install it onto the ceiling or a wall. Although the camera itself is well built it is not made to withstand the elements that could be encountered outside. Once I opened the Lorex app and began using the camera, I was immediately impressed with the ease and smoothness of moving the camera around to view the entire space. I positioned it on a table by a window so I could see the backyard and my dogs, and both day and night viewing is excellent. On a clear night with some extra moonlight it clearly works better but overall, very good. I like that I can listen in as well as talk to have a two way conversation with someone nearby (or freak out the kids). It also has privacy mode which positions the lens downward so you know nothing is being recorded or viewed. Lastly, the camera comes with 16gb of storage out of the box but you upgrade it to 256gb by swapping out the Micro SD card. Overall, good price for a good camera and no other fees to a third party to store your footage.

Although it is not perfect, It is excellent. I like it because it does not store my files in the Cloud. I do not like Security cameras to store my data in their Cloud system. Currently, it has 16GB, but I am planning to change it to 128 or 256 GB. I learned that Lorex allows up to 256GB, but I am not sure.

Great cameras, bought 3 on my initial purchase for in home monitoring. They do well with the tracking of people and movements. App interface works great. Would give 5 stars, but 2 of my cameras randomly drop the wireless connection and that normally results in me having to reset the camera and connect again. Other than that, no complaints. Like the feature where you can go back through the timeline and see what was going on. Came in handy when we found one of the home nurses snooping through our stuff and another almost drop our child. Will be looking for a wired system from Lorex for my outside cameras to replace my Arlo ones very soon!

This is a perfect camera for any space, but as indoor security cameras go, it is all that I need in my open plan living space. This camera offers a full 135-degree field of view along with the capabilities of panning and tilting the entire 135 degree viewing area. It also offers a two-way audio system and just like the exterior security system that I use, it integrates well for easy control with the Lorex Home app. With the use of the app and the camera ‘a built-in two-way speaker the option is available for communicating through the camera. The difference in this and the exterior Lorex system that I have installed is that with this interior speaker I can also pan, tilt and zoom which is something that I cannot do with my Lorex exterior security camera system. Amazingly easy to install, this indoor 1080p FHD wi-fi camera is small and lightweight. It also has IR night vision capabilities built into the camera that enables a night vision range of up to 33 ft. The simple setup to your Wi-Fi network was an extremely easy connect for me, and through the app the camera then allowed easy access for indoor security surveillance of property. Individual push notifications can be set up and the camera will instantly detect people and send notifications through the app. With the use of microSDXC cards footage can be stored and taping becomes localized and, of course, more private. The camera works with both Alexa and Google Assistant and both can summons quick access to footage for viewing on the app. Live or recorded video can be viewed on smartphones, tablets or Apple TV. Another well thought through feature is the Privacy Mode. The Privacy Mode allows the occupant to tilt the camera out of the recording view when home. Lorex has managed to capture everything one would need in an indoor security camera with this model. If you need an indoor camera, you really should look at the Lorex products and especially this one. I have been very please with all Lorex products that I have installed. They are really designed around functional use and, so far, they have all exhibited quality in the product and design.

This camera so far seems to be great. I really like how it auto tracks movement and people. I was a little disappointed that when I hung it from the side that every time I moved the camera with the PTZ feature that the picture would become crooked to sideways. I would have to adjust the camera to on the side of the wall to make the picture horizontal again. This camera works best when placed on a flat object or from the roof rather then the side of the wall

    Versatile Wireless Security Camera

Quick, simple to install and operate was the setup experience for me when setting up the Lorex WiFi Security camera. I would have to say probably right under 12mins I was up and running with a live feed on my phone. What you get in the box is the camera, micro-USB cable, and charging brick. It also comes pre-installed with a 16gb micro sd card for recording. The app allows us to set up the video quality feed from 1080p FHD to SD 480p most likely. On a small screen like a mobile phone SD video feed was not bad looking. A small 16gb won’t be able to hold much 1080p video recordings. Not only that but if your upload speeds are not that great like mine (4.8mb). If you prefer a wired connection the camera can be connected via an ethernet cable. Overall I must say I was satisfied with the video feed in HD and SD mode. Since it’s equipped with an IR night vision the video feed is still decent even in complete darkness. Another thing I like is the wide view angle lens. Setting up on a corner almost gives you the entire view of the room. You also have the ability to tilt and pan the camera for huge open spaces. This is a good camera for open spaces on buildings that have a lot of traffic. If you have it set up on a high traffic area you might want to end up turning off the person detection trust me your phone notifications won’t stop going off. In a light traffic area, this is a good feature to have especially if you don’t expect anyone to be around that area. You also have 2-way talk to be able to listen and talk back to them. For the app itself, it does have a clean minimal UI. From the app, you can tilt and pan the camera in addition to zoom in the video feed. There’s a privacy mode to shut off the camera temporarily until you decide to turn it back on. You also have the option to save a recording or take a screenshot. You don’t have the ability to upload them to cloud storage at this time. If more storage is needed it can easily be upgraded by a higher capacity Micro SD card. The quality and speed of the video over a cellular connection will depend on your internet speed. For my 4.8mb upload, I had no issues viewing on my phone while away from my house. The only stuff that I didn’t like was the lag you get when changing the position of the camera. If you tilt or pan there’s slight paused before you see the video feed move. Hopefully, this can be fixed via a firmware update. Overall the Lorex WiFI security camera provides a lot of value for the price it retails for. There’s no subscription to worry about and with the flexibility of upgrading the storage to match your needs. I’ve seen 512gb Micro SD cards on sale for right around $60. It has excellent daytime and night video quality that is wide enough to cover an entire room or majority of an open space like a lobby.

    Great standalone security camera

The Lorex - Indoor Pan, Tilt and Zoom Wi-Fi Network Security Camera is a great standalone security camera that has really impressed me. I needed a camera to keep an eye on my elderly grandfather who is usually home alone during the day but also wanted a camera that could pan away from the main living area to the front door for overnight monitoring. With the way the house is setup, I was able to place the camera to where it could monitor the living room and see down the hallway towards the bedrooms, pan to the left to see the kitchen area, and pan to the right to see the front door. Being able to monitor all of these places with only a single camera is very impressive and I especially like the two-way audio system for when my parents and I decide to check in on grandpa. The setup process was very easy and straightforward but it should be noted that the camera is powered via a USB cable and the included cable is only about 6 feet long. This may make it difficult for some people to place the camera where they want since you will need to be relatively close to a power outlet unless you get or happen to have a longer USB cable. Video quality is better than I expected, especially in the infrared night vision mode. The Lorex Home app that is used to monitor and adjust settings for the camera is easy to navigate and use. Everything seems to make sense so it isn’t hard to find whatever settings you are trying to find. There is a bit of lag when adjusting the pan and tilt of the camera but I suppose that is to be expected and it really isn’t that big of a deal because I doubt most people will be moving the camera around for long periods of time. Overall, the Lorex - Indoor Pan, Tilt and Zoom Wi-Fi Network Security Camera is a great standalone security camera and I highly recommend it!
